Uncle Pete always had such a peaceful presence in our family. I really enjoyed getting to know him on a deeper level these past few years. The serenity he had and the love and protectiveness he shared for his family was profound.

Pete was a tremendous father to James and all his friends. In high school, James and I would often rush over to the Ferguson household to have a jam session on the guitar and drums. Pete was never once bothered by the noise (of us attempting a Blink 182 or RHCP song).
In fact he was so encouraging, with his signature Pete chuckle, saying he liked that last one and would always bring the cam corder out to film our gigs. His vintage style and love of music was definitely passed along to James.
I am lucky and grateful for how welcoming Pete was. He will be surely missed by all.

Pete was a neighbourhood dad for me. He was down the street and it was a familiar face I'd see when I walked down to James' place, or occasionally just see as I was passing by to elsewhere.
I will remember him because he was always so welcoming, so ready to say hello and have a little conversation. And so most of my memories of Pete are like that, exchanging words by the Orange VW or elsewhere.
Pete was capital-S Smart, he knew how to fix things, he knew how to tell an interesting story, and he knew how to listen. But he made me feel like an equal talking to him which was a big deal for a kid, turning into a teenager, turning into a young man. He cared about his family, he cared about his son, and when he was talking with you it felt like he cared about you too.
In truth, I don't remember any of what we said these years later, but I remember how it made me feel. So, thanks Pete.

Remembering Peter as the greatest little brother. Growing up in Salmon Arm he was always fixing things from radios to toasters. He liked building things such as a go-kart and got himself in trouble for taking it down Main Street. He is remembered with love.Avril

Dad taught me how to drive. I still remember how calm, pleasant, and encouraging he was—even while I was driving terribly. He would smile and say, “That’s right… yeah, you’re a good girl.”
I miss his voice, his positive energy, and his warm, easy laughter. I miss watching SpaceX launches together and going out for Asian food he had never tried before.
Those moments stay with me always.

We were deeply saddened to hear of Peter’s passing. It was a true pleasure to have known him for so many years. He faced his diagnosis, multiple surgeries/treatments with remarkable bravery, and through it all retained his warmth, kindness, and wonderful sense of humour. Peter will be greatly missed, and we are so grateful to have known him. Our sincerest condolences to his family.

I only knew Peter for the last thirteen years or so. He was the loveliest of men. I never found him sad , miserable, or angry. Always upbeat, truly an inspiration to us all, considering all that he'd been through over the years.
He was much loved and will be dearly missed. ❤️

Dad helped my friend and I build a treehouse in Kelowna. I was so fortunate he took an interest in what our young imaginations were trying to accomplish.
