Peggy Yvonne Price

Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Peggy Yvonne Price, on October 31, 2024, at the age of 80. Peggy passed peacefully surrounded by family at her home. She is preceded in death by her mother and father: Edna Josephine Fowler Billingsley and Howard Leon Billingsley, and her brothers and sisters: James King, Boyd King, Lloyd King, Emma King Snow, Howard J. Billingsley, Dorothy Billingsley Huckabay, Lila Billingsley Huckabay, and Joetta King Holden. Peggy will live forever in the hearts of her five daughters--Kazel Morgan, Kathy Schoenhals, Kimberly Miller, Karen Morgan, and Kassandra Morgan-Gentile, and her honorary daughter, Robin Linton--as well as her ten grandchildren—Danielle and Kaila Honea, Christian Daigle, Angela and Adam Moore, Shelby Miller, Michael and Brandon Diamond, Ciara Castillo and Courtney Haney--and her ten great-grandchildren—Isabella, Iris, Quinn, Kaiden, Lydia, JJ, Dean, Daniel, Callum, and Bonnie.

Everything good describes our mother. Peggy was genuine and wise, cleareyed and fearless. She was patient and rarely ruffled by anything, and there was almost no hardship that she couldn’t overcome, no problem she couldn’t solve. She was the one person you could always count on to be there. Always. She was naturally shy, but she was also playful and silly and loved to dance. She had the best laugh. She was strong, elegant, and beautiful beyond words, both inside and out. The matriarch of our family, she was absolute unconditional love. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with such joy. She was always there for each of us; she was our rock. Peggy was truly an amazing woman, and we miss her deeply.

Please join us to celebrate the life of our beautiful mother on Saturday, December 7 from 1:00-4:00. We will gather at The Commune, 101 N Loop Blvd E, Austin, TX 78751. There will be ample street parking along Avenue F, just around the corner from The Commune.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local ASPCA. aspca.org. Over the decades, Mom gave her heart to so many precious dogs and cats--Tani, Bitsy, Li’l Guy, Duchess, Johnny Cash, Gracie, Panga, and Carter. She’s up in heaven now with each one waiting their turn for a bite from her plate.

Grandma Peggy was a beautiful woman who was strong, smart and sarcastically funny and held a strong grip on her heb coke a cola’s. I’ll never forget at a family dinner at your house that everyone was griping at Peggy for having a Coke at dinner and she needed water. She leaned into me and whispered “ Can you believe this people?!” While rolling her eyes. I can see why you miss and love her deeply! Rest well Grandma Peggy!

A true icon who provided a warm raincoat for so many in this world. I’ll never stop being grateful ♥️ This poem says it better than I can.

I've been thinking of each and everyone of you since I heard the sad news. Nothing but sweet, fond, loving memories of Peggy. People do not forget the way you make them feel, and as a kid, Peggy was always genuinely warm and kind to me. The Christmas parties, camping, the 21 mile March of Dimes walk, when she became a Grandma (Danielle), her and my Mom making margaritas, and I do remember, she did love to dance: ) and she loved her dogs ( Duchess and Bitsy), and most of all, her girls. I hope I am half the girl-Mom Peggy was. I think you guys would be surprised how often I am reminded of you all by the littlest things I see or hear.
