Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day.
Obituary
Paul Winslow Stultz Jr. was born on October 15, 1949, and passed away on October 10, 2026, surrounded by the family he spent his life loving and caring for.
Paul was a kind and gentle man with a warm smile and a genuine love for people. He had a way of making others feel welcome and cared for. Those who knew him will remember his kindness, his love of God, and the quiet way he showed his love.
Perhaps the best reflection of who Paul was can be found in the family he chose. He became an instant father to two little girls in 1981 when he married Cheryl Terrell. From that point forward, they were simply his daughters. He loved them, raised them, sacrificed for them, and spent his life being their dad. There are many ways to become a father, and Paul showed through his life that sometimes the strongest bonds are the ones we choose and then honor every day.
Paul is survived by his daughters, Heather (Thomas Shawn) Owens and Bethany (Tonya) King; his five grandchildren, Halle (Kyle) Simpkins, Colin (Mella) Owens, Zachary (Mackenzie) Ware, Gracie Owens, and Alyssa Ware; and his three great-grandchildren, Berkley and Hayden Simpkins and Ellie Ware. He loved his family deeply, and the life and family that grew around him are an enduring part of his legacy.
During his final years, Paul was also surrounded by people who came to know and care for him at StoryPoint of Northfield. His family is deeply grateful to the caregivers there who treated him with kindness, dignity, and compassion and provided him with such excellent care.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Phyllis (Virgil) Kreeger, Paul (Carolyn Janiece Conner) Stultz, and his siblings, Cassandra De’Lynn Bodell and Richard Stultz. There is comfort in knowing that he is reunited with those he loved who went before him.
Paul will be missed immensely by his family and by the many people whose lives were touched by his kindness. But most of all, he will be remembered as a good and gentle man who chose to be a dad and grandfather and never stopped choosing his family. And they were very lucky to have him.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Paul on Saturday, October 24th @ 11am at the Scottsburg United Methodist Church with a meal and time for fellowship to follow at the church.

We will come together to remember and pay tribute to Paul. While we mourn the loss of our dear father and grandfather, we also aim to cherish the moments shared and the joy brought into our lives. Your presence would mean a great deal to us during this time of remembrance and reflection.
