Paul Connolly

“Not everyone is given the chance to grow old. So appreciate every single day of your life.”
Obituary
Paul Connolly, a beloved son, brother, husband, father and friend.
Paul passed away peacefully on April 6, 2025 surrounded by his family in Halifax at the age of 54.
Paul's life was a testament to his unwavering dedication, compassion, and the profound impact he had on those around him.
Paul had a zest for life that was evident in his many passions. Family was hugely important to him. He would spend weekends with his family, going on bike rides. This then led to his passion for cycling (when his children could not keep up). Paul completed many cycling challenges; Lands end to Lowestoft, London to Paris not to mention cycling the London 100 10 days after finishing chemotherapy, raising almost £20,000 for the brain tumour charity. Paul was someone who demonstrated determination and strength and never gave up.
Professionally, Paul was respected and admired in his field, where his innovative spirit and commitment to excellence left a lasting legacy. His colleagues remember him not only for his expertise but also for the kindness and encouragement he extended to everyone he worked with. Paul had an innate ability to make those around him feel valued and understood, traits that endeared him to many and left a lasting impression on both his peers and the broader community.
Paul's legacy is carried forward by the countless lives he touched, and his memory will forever be cherished by those fortunate enough to have known him. As we remember Paul, may we honour his life by following on from his compassion, kindness, and commitment to making the world a better place.
Paul will be deeply missed and though he has left us too soon, the impact of his life will continue to ripple through all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A memorial service will take place at the Sacred Heart St Patrick’s Catholic Church on Thursday 8th May at 12:00pm. We welcome family and friends to gather and celebrate Paul's remarkable life and bid farewell to a truly extraordinary man.
