Pastor Emmanuel Anietie Joshua

Destiny, writers often say, is a fulfilled prophecy by those who follow the right path. We determine our destiny and give it life through the actions we take today. That is the story of Pastor Emmanuel Anietie Joshua.
Birth and Family Background
He was born on August 19, 1972, in Ebute Metta, Lagos, Nigeria, into the family of Chief Joshua Ekpo-Nkoriko of Ikot-Ekot village, and Mrs. Martha Simon Ekpo of Iwo-Eto village, all in Etinan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. He was the third son in a family of five male and a female. He had lost an elder sister long before he was born.
He was a man with a humble background who found God’s mercy and grace for a divine calling. A devoted servant of God, a passionate teacher of the Word, and an inspirational leader whose life was marked by faith, dedication, and a deep commitment to impacting human lives.
Ministry
PRE-MINISTERIAL WORK:
Pastor Emmanuel Joshua, before his call to full-time ministry, worked with Eureka Metals Limited in Lagos and after two years of work as a Lab Technician with a Petroleum and Exploration outfit, Geotrex System Limited in Lagos, Nigeria.
MINISTRY:
Pastor Emmanuel was a focused and highly disciplined man of grace, an impactful and well-grounded teacher of the word of God, a man of prayer, a missionary, and a passionate kingdom addict. He was a firm believer in the biblical principle that “with God nothing shall be impossible”. At the age of 18, precisely in August 1990, he gave his life to Christ. Thus, his Christian journey dates back to the year 1990 when he gave his life to Christ, and got heavenly signal beckoning him to the kingdom work. Before joining the Redeemed Christian Church of God in 1997, he was an Assistant Pastor in Victory Bible Church in Aguda Surulere, Lagos, from 1994 to 1996.
Missionary Work
Pastor Emmanuel Joshua was a man with a deep passion for souls and missionary work. He waited for the right time. The opportunity presented itself in 1999, and he was privileged to join the African Missions Team of the RCCG. Before answering the call into full-time missionary, he worked as a laboratory technician in a petroleum company in Lagos, Nigeria, a job he left to fulfil his calling as a man of missions. He was a missionary and pastor, known for his effectiveness in teaching, his vibrant prayer life, and his role as a respected international conference speaker.
His missionary trip took him to southern Africa. Thus, between 1999 and 2009, he pioneered and pastored several churches of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Zambia. Within that period, he served as a pioneer missionary in Zambia, overseeing parishes in the country and carrying out missionary work across Malawi, Zimbabwe, Botswana, and South Africa.
As a missionary, he loved traveling for ministerial assignments. From 1999 to date, Pastor Emmanuel Joshua has had the privilege of ministering in many countries, including the United Kingdom, Turkey, and the Middle East. His passion was to touch and impact lives positively for the kingdom of God.

Tribute to a Beloved Pastor: Pastor Emmanuel Anietie Joshua.
With heavy hearts, yet in total submission to the will of God, we honour the life of a great servant of God who has gone to be with the Lord.
Our beloved Pastor was a man deeply rooted in the Word of God. He did not just preach the Scriptures—he lived them. His life was a daily expression of truth, discipline, and unwavering faith.
He was a diligent labourer in God’s vineyard, committed to the work of the ministry regardless of the season. Whether in quiet service or public ministry, he gave his all with sincerity and devotion.
A man of prayer, he stood in the gap for many. His voice was known in the place of intercession, and his strength was drawn from constant fellowship with God. He was also a true worshipper, whose heart burned with love for God, leading others into His presence with humility and reverence.
My beloved Pastor was a man of integrity and the fear of God. He walked uprightly, spoke truthfully, and led by example. In a world of compromise, he remained steadfast, reflecting Christ in character and conduct.
Though his departure was sudden and painful, we are comforted by the assurance of Scripture: “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.” – Psa. 116:15
Also, 2 Timothy 4:7 says, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”
His legacy lives on—in the lives he touched, the souls he led to Christ, and the seeds of righteousness he planted.
We will miss him deeply, but we rejoice knowing that he has gone to glory.
Rest on, faithful servant of God. Your labour was not in vain.

TRIBUTE TO A GREAT MAN OF GOD.
The shock waves and confusion generated by the horrifying news of your departure have not left our minds.
We still find it very difficult to accept the reality of this sad news.
You came to Ebonyi Province 2 with an extravagant Grace and power that manifested not only in spiritual transformations but also in structural development of the province.
During your tenure, you did not only paddled us out of the doldrums of spiritual confusion but stilled the baffling winds of stagnation and catapulted Ebonyi 2 to the 1st position severally and consecutively in the Region?
During your time, we experienced "Rivers flowing in the desert."
Finance was never a constraint in the province; one still wondered how you were able to achieve so much.
Our beloved Pastor, you were pragmatic and practical, a great transformer, a graceful teacher and preacher of the Word, a prayer machine and courageous leader
Our prayers are with your wife and children that the Lord Himself will comfort them and give them the strength and firmness of heart to accept the reality of your departure.

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints (Psalm 116:15 KJV)
Our dear Pastor was God's prayer warrior, evangelist, intercessor and builder.
We only believe God called him because he has finished his assignment here on earth.
We will rest on the consolation that Heaven has gained this great servant of God, till we meet again.
May he continue to rest in the bossom of the Lord and may the Almighty God console those he left behind in Jesus name, Amen.

On the night of 29th March, I unconsciously posted on my Facebook story the picture we took together during my full pastor ordination, labeling it a memory to cherish; little did I know it was the spirit of affinity with you.
You were remarkably unique: a prolific teacher and preacher of the word, your class and standards were envious, you were fearless and courageous.
You were a good Mentor and Master and it's still unbelievable that you're gone.
From: Pst & Dcns. Patrick & Patcy Chukwu.
PIC RCCG Royal Ambassadors Area.

Still in shock of your death. Destiny crossed our path some years ago through a covenant friend, Pastor Francis Oladimeji (RCCG LCC, UK) who happened to be your covenant prayer partner) since then we have take ourselves as brothers. Intact, I haven't got your slot filled for our annual conference which you agreed to minister in May 2026. You carried me in your car in March while I parked mine for a special meeting called by daddy GO. I was the last person you dropped having gone to other Pastors' houses to drop them. You have demonstrated your resilience as a soldier of Christ within short time I knew you. A great intercessor and speaker with undiluted Scriptures. Your speech at our past conferences had been resounding up till now. Your experiences in the ministry shared had been encouraging even within shortest time I have known you. May your legacy leaves on as you have impacted God's Kingdom for your generation and upcoming ones. We loved you but Christ loves most. Sleep well as we meet on the last call for those who died in Christ. Adieu Past Joshua as I fondly called you
You were a father, brother, teacher, mentor and a friend. You fed us spiritually with the raw Word of God with deep insight, and physically with rice, beans, garri, tomatoes, groundnut oil etc after our Sunday services, Tuesday Bible studies and our quarterly outreach programmes. BETTER THING NO DEY LAST. We surrender all to God Almighty. We miss and will be missing you. Rest in the bosom of the Lord

With heavy hearts and tear-filled eyes, we pause to honour and celebrate a life so beautifully lived — a life that gave, served, and loved without reservation. Pastor Emmanuel Anietie Joshua was not just a man of God; he was a gift to us all.
It is difficult to put into words the depth of this loss.
He was a shepherd who truly cared — one who carried people in his heart, lifted them in prayer, and stood with them in their quiet battles. He didn’t just teach the Word; he lived it. In his humility, we saw Christ. In his compassion, we felt God’s love. In his presence, we found peace.
Pastor Joshua had a rare and gentle strength:
He saw people — truly saw them.
He listened with patience.
He spoke with wisdom.
And he loved without condition.
So many of us are who we are today because he poured into us — through prayers whispered in faith, words spoken at the right time, and a life that constantly pointed us back to God.
Today, our hearts ache.
We grieve not just a pastor, but a father, a mentor, a guide, and a light in our journey. The silence he leaves behind feels loud… and the absence, deeply personal.
Yet, even in our pain, we hold on to hope.
Because we know he has gone home — welcomed into eternal rest by the One he served so faithfully. He has finished his race. He has kept the faith. And now, he wears his crown.
His legacy lives on — not just in memories, but in transformed lives, strengthened faith, and the countless seeds he planted that will continue to grow for generations.
We will carry his teachings.
We will remember his love.
We will honour his life by living out the truth he embodied.
May God wrap His comforting arms around his family, the church, and everyone grieving this profound loss. And may the beautiful memories we hold bring us strength in the days ahead.
Rest gently in the presence of your Maker, dear Pastor.
You were deeply loved.
You will never be forgotten.
Your light will continue to shine through us.
Daddy, daddy, daddy… that’s what I always call you.
I miss the way you sing to me—
“My Jesse bobo, Jesse Jesse bobo…”
You were the only one who knew how to talk to me and make me give you anything without making me cry.
Daddy, I miss you so much.
I love you so, so much daddy.

Pastor, Mrs. Fumilola Aniete Joshua
With deep sorrow and heavy hearts, we write on behalf of the Redeemers Men Fellowship of Open Heaven Parish to express our heartfelt condolences on the passing of our dearly beloved pastor, Pastor Emmanuel Aniete Joshua.
The news of his demise came as a great shock to us all. Pastor Emmanuel was not only a shepherd to the flock but also a father, mentor, and spiritual guide whose life reflected humility, dedication, and unwavering faith in God. His teachings, prayers, and leadership have left an indelible mark on our lives and the entire church community.
We take solace in the truth of the Scriptures, that "precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints". Though we mourn his departure, we are comforted knowing that he has gone to rest in the bosom of the Lord, where
there is peace everlasting.
During this difficult time, we pray that God grants the family the strength, comfort, and grace to bear this irreparable loss.
May the Holy Spirit console your hearts and fill the void left behind with His abiding presence.
Please be assured of our prayers, support, and solidarity with you now and always. Pastor Emmanuel’s legacy will continue to live on in our hearts and in
the work of God which he so faithfully carried out.
May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.

Indeed you were a general and a spiritual war veteran. You hit the ground running and fought as though you were told before hand that time is very short.
Everyone who ever sat under your soul piercing word of God, always comes back looking for more. Indeed, God prepared you for the assignment he gave to you on earth.
Working under you was a time of military training for me because like a soldier of the Lord, you were always on the fast lane and very unpredictable. You held several powerful spiritual programs back to back within a short period. I often wondered the kind of special grace that God gave to you to teach his word with great mastery.
You were an encyclopaedia of the word of God. You always want to preach, teach and release grace at every slightest opportunity you had and you were never tired because somehow, you knew that the time was short.
I and my family have not yet recovered from the fact that we will not see you again or hear your wonderful messages again on this side of eternity. Our only consolation is that we shall meet again at the feet of Jesus Christ on the last day.
Adieu my father in the Lord!

Today, we gather with heavy hearts yet deep gratitude to honor the life and legacy of Late Pst Emmanuel Joshua — a devoted servant of God, a compassionate shepherd, and a beacon of light to all who knew him.
Pst Emmanuel Joshua was more than a preacher; he was a vessel of grace, wisdom, and unwavering faith. His life reflected the teachings he so passionately shared — love, humility, service, and steadfast trust in God. Through his words and actions, he touched countless lives, offering hope to the weary, guidance to the lost, and comfort to the brokenhearted.

SALUTE TO A GALLANT SOLDIER
The news of the sudden death of your husband, Pastor Emmanuel Anietie Joshua, who
passed unto glory on the 29th day of March, 2026, at the age of 54, was received with utter
shock. He was a highly sociable person, an accomplished gentleman, and a rare-bred
preacher of the word who contributed immensely to missionary work in Africa, the United
Kingdom, Turkey, and the Middle East.
Pastor Emmanuel Anietie Joshua, you were a good family man who put your home first
while you lived. Though young, you were indeed an experienced soldier of Christ. You
fought the good fight, you have finished the race, you kept the faith in your given course
of life – 2Tim 2:7. The story of RCCG in Zambia, Ebonyi Province 2, FCT Province 1,
and Rivers Province 1 cannot be complete without the mention of your name. The
testimony of your good works in the mission resonates across climes.
Pastor Emmanuel Anietie Joshua, you were a man full of passion for the work of the
kingdom. The news of your passing was shocking. You will be remembered for your
resilience, doggedness, passion, and commitment to the service of God. May the good
Lord strengthen your family and give them the grace to bear this great loss.
To mummy Joahua and the children, be encouraged by the legacies Daddy left behind as
an accomplished man of God who contributed immensely to bettering the world around
him. We pray the Almighty God gives you the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss; and
we enjoin you to be strong and consoled by Christ’s promise of eternal resurrection
(1Thess 4: 13-18) where, perhaps, we shall meet Daddy to part no more.
Goodbye, Pastor Joshua!
Sleep on thou gallant soldier of Christ!

Our tribute to honour the life and ministry of our daddy, Pastor Emmanuel Anietie Joshua, a faithful servant of God, a loving husband, and a devoted father. His homegoing on March 28, 2026 has left a void in our hearts, but we take comfort in the promise that “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:8).
Our daddy lived a life anchored in prayer, humility, and service. He was known for his gentle disposition, his commitment to pastoral care, and his quiet yet consistent support for the less‑privileged.
Those who sat under his ministry remember his expository preaching, his emphasis on holiness, and his constant encouragement to “walk worthy of the calling” in Christ (Ephesians 4:1)
May we honour his memory not just by tears, but by living the kind of Christian life he exemplified—prayerful, selfless, and wholly surrendered to God.
To the grieving family, we say: the Lord is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). May the same grace that strengthened our Daddy Pastor Emmanuel in life sustain you in this season of sorrow, and may his eternal reward be a source of joy and comfort to you now and forever.

Pastor Joshua Emmanuel was truly more than just a pastor to us; he was a mentor, a role model, a cherished big brother, and a beloved part of our family, my big sister's husband. The pure and inspiring word of God he shared with us will forever remain in our hearts, and many of us at Higher Ground Parish will always hold him in fond memory for this. He was indeed a remarkable man, and Higher Ground Parish Ikorodu (RCCG) will never forget him. Although his departure brings sorrow, we find comfort in knowing he is resting in the loving embrace of our Lord. Rest in peace, Man of God.

Death, why does it sting this much?
Your preaching and prayers always hit differently. Was it the depth of your words, or the way you worshipped? You were truly a genuine worshipper.
One prayer I can never forget is the one you prayed during the crossover service about clarity. Since that day, my constant prayer has been to know what to do, when to do it, how to do it, and to do it clearly. And to the glory of God, I have experienced clarity more than ever before.
Was it also your encouragement? The few times I had the opportunity to minister while you were seated, I wondered,
What can I possibly say that would be new to such a great man of God? Yet, your words to me after the service lifted my spirit and reassured me that God had worked through me. For that, I am deeply grateful.
Your death hit me differently. I prayed so much from the moment I heard about your brief illness. Even after the news of your passing, my faith remained strong, and I found myself still declaring God faithful.
May God continue to be with Mummy a wonderful woman filled with love, strength, and a heart for people.
May God comfort everyone, and the church as a whole.

Thank you for the confidence to lead and for always making us feel heard.
I could remember when everyone left my side, you stood the ground for me. When you were down, if there was anything else I could have done to revive you, I will not have hesitate.
You were not just my Pastor and Boss, you were also my friend. Always in the office together 🥹🥹
The last advise you gave me still rings on my mind.
Daddy was a great Cook, because I experienced it and tasted many of his meals.
Pastor Emmanuel A Joshua was a guy man. No outfit on him that you won't admire. Daddy was a fashionista
It is painful that all your plans for Open Heaven Parish have been dashed.
The year 2024 was a major setback year for me, I was so depressed and down casted, your sermons were upliftment to my soul. When you preach, I go back home to listen to them again and again and I was revived.
I am still shock you left so soon, but I am on the other hand happy that your PRINTS are forever in my heart.
Your legacy lives on in the standards of excellence you taught us.

As the Scripture reminds us, “The memory of the righteous is blessed” (Proverbs 10:7). Indeed, Pastor Emmanuel’s life is one that will not be forgotten.
Though his time with us feels far too short, his life was rich in purpose and filled with lasting impact. He was a man of prayer, passion, and unwavering commitment to the work of God. Through his faith, guidance, and selfless service, he touched countless lives. As it is written, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7).
I met Pastor Emmanuel Anietie Joshua about 10 years ago at the Help Is Help monthly meeting hosted by Pastor Sola Oludoyi at RCCG Royal Connection, London. Pastor Sola introduced me to him after one of the prayer meetings, and from that moment, he became like a big brother to me.
I must admit that I have not always been the best at keeping in touch, but he never failed to reach out. Every now and then, he would call and say, “Alagba, where are you? I have been calling you!” That was who he was, intentional, caring, and deeply relational.
Many times, he would call to share his experiences in ministry and marriage, always to encourage and advise me. Every one of those conversations was a booster to my faith and a source of strength to me.
I can never forget the testimonies he shared with me some months ago about his last-born child, and how God used his last secular job to give him a clearer picture of his purpose in life. Those moments revealed a man who walked closely with God and recognized His hand even in life’s transitions.
Though we feel the pain of his passing, we are comforted by the assurance of God’s Word: “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints” (Psalm 116:15). We also hold on to the blessed hope that “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:8).
Pastor Emmanuel has entered into his eternal rest, and we trust that he has heard the words, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:21).
Rest in peace, God’s General.
My husband, J pastor,J pastor, my coach, my handsome husband, my fashionista, a very neat man, my prayer warrior, a great teacher of the Word, so inspiring, a true man of God by His grace, dedicated and fully focused on His work.
Though your time here feels so short, your life was filled with undeniable impact. I will never forget you. Thank you for giving me the platform to serve God and for helping me discover my ministry as I stood beside you in His work.
Your sudden departure has left me in deep shock. I never imagined it would be this soon. Yet, I hold on to this assurance: you made it to heaven. God knows best, and I rest in the truth that He will surely take care of me and the children in Jesus name.
You will forever remain in my heart.
I love you deeply. I will miss the sound of your undiluted preaching the truth you carried with boldness and grace. I will miss your presence, and yes… your handsome face.
Jesse misses you, and I miss you more than words could ever express.
J pastor, as I will always call you, love you forever
Till we meet again.

I honor you everyday My covering, my protector, my safe place, my father and my dad.
My father loved me. Truly, deeply, and consistently. I never had to question it. I saw his love in the way he cared for me, provided for me, prayed for me, and showed up for me every single day.
My father was a man of God. He served God wholeheartedly, not just in words, but in how he lived his life. He taught me what it means to trust God completely.
I will never forget the night I couldn’t breathe. I ran to him, afraid, gasping for air. He carried me, laid me down, and began to pray. For hours, he prayed over me until I finally fell asleep peacefully. That was my father; a man of faith, a man who believed in God above all else. Through him, I learned that God answers prayers.
He loved me in the little things too. He checked on me constantly, always ready to protect me. Even just days before he passed, he was still taking care of me, still giving, still making sure I was okay.
And even in his strength, he carried joy. I remember him knocking on my door while I was in an interview, and when I told him, he said, “Next time, write it on the door.” That was him; full of life, full of humor.
My father loved me. And I will carry that love with me for the rest of my life.
Daddy, thank you for loving me.
Thank you for loving me.
Thank you for praying for me.
Thank you for covering me.
Thank you for always being there.
You were my everything.
And you will be forever missed.
Rest well, Daddy.

Hmmmmmm..... . It's very painful to come to terms with the fact that Pastor Joshua has gone just like that. Remembering the time we spent together in the UK last year, August 2025, to celebrate Dr Francis Oladimeji birthday, where we fellowship, ate, and slept together in the same apartment for two weeks.
Pastor Joshua was a Christian soldier, a warrior and intercessor. He was a friendly friend, reliable down to earth, selfless, accommodating, and a good team player. He was addicted to true worship of God, a lover of peace, very hardworking, meticulous, and sacrificial.
Pastor Joshua, keep resting until we meet again on the resurrection day when we shall meet to part no more. Though Pastor Joshua has gone from our midst, his work is speaking after him. He is gone but not forgotten. Heaven has welcomed another saint back home. To all of us, friends, family, and the Church, I pray that God will give us courage, comfort, and fortitude to bear the sudden exit of our beloved friend and Pastor.
Revd John Jesulana.
Thank you for answering the call. Your life was a living testimony of faith, service, and commitment. You walked with grace and strength, lifting souls and leaving a mark that time will never erase".
Your teaching style was a rare gift—taking the profound depths of the Message and delivering it with remarkable simplicity. You fed us with true word of God whenever we sat under your ministrations at your visit in London.

With hearts weighed down by grief yet lifted in gratitude to God for a life well spent, we write this in solemn reflection to bid farewell to a RARE GEM, a SHEPHERD OF SOULS, a WARRIOR OF FAITH; our dearly departed Pastor, our Odogwu - PASTOR EMMANUEL ANIETIE JOSHUA (PICP RVS1/APICR 5).
The title “Odogwu” - a Champion, a Great Warrior befits you perfectly. Not one who fought with weapons of this world, but one who stood boldly in the battles of the spirit. You were steadfast in truth, unwavering in conviction, and relentless in your pursuit of righteousness. You carried the burdens of many, often silently, always faithfully.
You were more than a Pastor. You were a FATHER, a MENTOR, a COUNSELOR, a TEACHER, a LEGEND and a BEACON OF HOPE to countless lives. Your voice echoed not just from the pulpit, but in the quiet corners of troubled hearts. Your teachings and messages healed, your prayers uplifted, and your presence brought comfort. You taught us not just how to live, but how to live well with purpose, humility, and reverence for God.
Through trials and triumphs, you remained resolute. Like a true Odogwu, you did not retreat in the face of adversity. You stood firm, anchored in faith, reminding us that storms may come, but they do not last forever. Your life was a testimony; a living epistle read by all who encountered you.
Though your departure leaves a void that words cannot fill, we take solace in the legacy you left behind. The seeds you planted continue to grow. The lives you touched will forever bear the imprint of your love and sacrifice.
Fare thee well, faithful servant!
Fare thee well, great warrior of Christ! Fare thee well, Odogwu!
May the heavens receive you with joy. May the angels welcome you home. And may your soul rest in perfect peace.
Adieu, our beloved Pastor!
Your labour was not in vain.
Your crown awaits.

RCCG Open Heavens Parish, Port Harcourt.

He was a true teacher of the Word, a prayer warrior, and a vessel always led by the Spirit. His teachings were always clear, powerful, and timely. I always looked forward to them, often going back to listen again, reflect, and grow. His words stirred a hunger in me to study more and draw closer to God.
Even in my own season of grief, I remember his message at my son’s service of songs. It touched hearts deeply and left many in awe. Sharing the news of his passing brought shock to so many, because his life and words had impacted countless lives.
Though I was away when this happened, his teachings continue to echo in my heart. I will hold on to all he taught and continue to live by those truths.
We may not understand, but we trust God. He gives and He takes when He knows it is time. I believe the life he lived, the souls he touched, and the Word he poured out will speak for him.
May your soul rest in perfect peace, sir, until we meet again on the resurrection morning.
Goodbye, dear pastor. You will be greatly missed. 🙏

There are people who enter your life and leave it forever changed. Pastor Emmanuel Anietie Joshua was that kind of person.
In the two years I had the privilege of sitting under his leadership, I discovered not just a pastor, but a father in faith — a man whose gentleness was not weakness, but strength clothed in grace. He had a rare gift: the ability to nurture the potential in others without making them feel small in the process. He met you where you were, believed in where you were going, and quietly walked with you every step of the way.
His teaching was not merely words spoken from a pulpit — it was a life lived openly before those he led. He poured into people with patience, with wisdom, and with a sincerity that could not be manufactured. When he spoke into your life, you knew it came from a place of genuine love and deep conviction.
Though his departure was sudden and has left a silence that words cannot easily fill, the seeds he planted do not die with him. Every life he touched carries a piece of his legacy — in the way we study the Word, in the way we treat others, and in the quiet confidence he helped build within us.
you were taken too soon by our reckoning, but your impact is eternal. We are better people because you were our pastor, our mentor, and our friend.
Rest well, faithful shepherd. Your work here was not in vain.

My beloved pastor, your passing feels like a dream I wish I could wake up from, the pain of losing you is beyond words. You were not just my pastor, you were a father in faith, a teacher, and a mentor,But even in this pain, we hold on to the truth that you have gone to rest. You have finished your assignment. You have fought a good fight , you have kept the faith, and now you wear your crown of glory.
Rest on Daddy,
We love you but God love you most
Adieu sir, till we meet at the Resurrection morning .
You came to us as our pastor, but over time you became so much more to everyone in Rivers Province 1, especially in Open Heavens Parish. Your passing has affected me like the loss of a biological parent or an uncle.
We cannot question God for calling you home the way He did. You were truly a soldier of Christ.
May God continue to strengthen the family you left behind as they go through this great loss.
Sleep well, Daddy.
We remembered your ministration to us last year when you came to UK for your friend's Birthday. He was known as "God put your mouth in my matters" the message he gave us some years back.
The Bible says Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints. Psalm 116:15 .
May God comfort the family he left behind, and may the children fulfil their purpose in life IJMN. Rest in Peace beloved. Pastor & Pastor Mrs E. Eniraiyetan. RCCG UK.
TRIBUTES TO MY UNCLE
Dear Pastor Emmanuel, though our time together was short, I look back on the days my siblings and I spent the holidays at your house with our cousins. You will be forever cherished. Rest in peace.
JOSHUA OLUWAFEMI UBONG (NEPHEW).
Farewell to a dear bosom childhood friend. He has a very grateful heart, growing up with friends and neighbors, you're exceptional with the kinds of gestures we shared together. With so much dedication and passion to the kingdom mission. He did everything and worked hard to reach his dreams and reap a reward. Emman, has we usually called you, I will miss you so much. Your departure was a great shock to me, I spoke with you early March about our Medical outreach (Foursquare Gospel Church OLUWALOGBON AYOBO LAGOS). You embrace the vision and made a promise to support, but I had no idea that I will not speak with you again, your demise devastated me, I was speechless for about 5 minutes after reading through the obituary posted on my WhatsApp by your brother Raphael. In February 2026, we shared thoughts on how to depopulate the kingdom of darkness and enlarged the kingdom of God, I was encouraged with the piece of advice you gave, but I had no idea that more of such advice will not come from you again. Words on paper is never enough to pour out memories we've shared. Grief is the price we pay for love. Thank you so much for all the memories.
Heaven has gained. You may now rest in peace and tranquility, no more worrying no more pains, till we all meet at the feet of our creator. It's really hard to say goodbye to you. Sleep well friend. Emmanuel

My name is Joshua Victor Damilola, and I stand before you today with a heart full of both gratitude and sorrow, to pay tribute to a remarkable man; My beloved uncle, Late Pastor Emmanuel Joshua
Today, we gather with heavy hearts to honor the life of a man who meant so much to us. He was more than just a relative; he was a pillar of strength, wisdom, and quiet kindness. In every room he entered, he brought warmth, laughter, and a sense of calm that made everyone feel at home. His presence was reassuring, his words thoughtful, and his actions always guided by love and integrity. As a brother, he stood by my father through life’s ups and downs, sharing not just blood, but a deep bond of loyalty and friendship. Their relationship was one of mutual respect and unwavering support, a true example of what family should be.
To us, he was a mentor, a guide, and a source of inspiration. He taught us values that will live on forever, hard work, humility, respect for others, and the importance of family. Even in difficult times, he showed strength and resilience, reminding us that life is not just about what we go through, but how we rise from it.
Though we mourn his passing, we also celebrate a life well lived. A life filled with love, sacrifice, and meaningful connections. His legacy is not just in the memories we hold, but in the lives he touched and the lessons he left behind. We will miss his voice, his laughter, and his presence, but we take comfort in knowing that his spirit lives on in each of us. In the way we love, in the way we stand by one another, and in the values we carry forward.
Rest peacefully, dear uncle. You will forever remain in our hearts, never forgotten, always cherished.
May your soul find eternal rest.
JOSHUA VICTOR DAMILOLA (NEPHEW).

Dear Uncle Emma, it's heartbreaking that your time with us was cut short. You were more than family, and your absence will be deeply felt by all those whose lives you touched. Dear Pastor Emmanuel, even though our time together was brief, I will always treasure the memories of the holidays my siblings and I spent at your home with our cousins. You will forever hold a special place in our hearts. May you rest in peace and find eternal rest.
TEMITOPE JOSHUA (NIECE)

Hmm! It’s a great shock hearing about your demise, Pastor Emmanuel. Unquestionable God, who dares ask why you allowed it? No single strand of hair falls without your consent. We’re to be thankful, even as painful as we are. Oh Lord Jesus!
I met and knew him as a zealous, determined, purposeful, loving, and faithful chorister and brother-in-law. You are a great asset lost to humanity, but a heavenly gain to God’s angels. It pains me to say my children Tope, Femi, and Damilola will miss you, because they were very young the last time they saw you, despite your love and affection toward them.
Nevertheless, it’s joyful, even in our brokenness, to boldly say you reached the zenith of your calling and purpose on earth. I strongly believe a crown of glory awaits you in heaven, as the Apostle mentioned.
I will always remember Pastor TD Jakes' traits in you, your unwavering faith to your last breath, and one of your worship songs that I taught my children, we sing it together frequently in our devotions:
You are the mighty God…the great I am…Halleluyah…Halleluyah.
Iwo ni Olorun…Alagbara…Halleluyah…Halleluyah.
Ebu chineke bube…onye kaselu…Halleluyah…Halleluyah.
Rest well, a faithful man of God and my fashionista brother-in-law of whom I am proud, even in death. 😭😭
KEMI JOSHUA: KEMISOLA (SISTER-IN-LAW)

From Pastor Andrew Adeleke
My heart is heavy, yet grateful to God for the privilege of knowing and walking with Pastor E. A. Joshua.
He was more than a servant of God to me — he was a companion in the work of the gospel. I remember vividly our time together in London, England, and Cardiff, Wales, where we labored side by side to preach the good news. Those moments were not just ministry trips; they were encounters marked by passion, purpose, and a shared hunger to see lives transformed.
Pastor Joshua was a man of deep faith, wisdom, and remarkable consistency. What stood out most to me was his teachable spirit. No matter how much he knew or how far he had come, he remained humble, always willing to learn and grow. That humility made his strength even more powerful.
He carried a fire — the fire of the Holy Ghost burned fiercely in his bones. You could see it in the way he spoke, the way he prayed, and the way he pursued God’s calling. He was never passive about his faith; he lived it boldly and wholeheartedly.
He had so many dreams, so many desires yet to accomplish for the Kingdom. It is painful that he has gone so soon, just when there was still so much ahead. But even in this, I choose to trust God, knowing that his life, though not long enough for us, was full and impactful in God’s divine purpose.
Though his passing was sudden, I hold on to the truth that he has gone to glory — to be with the Lord he loved and served so faithfully.
Pastor E. A. Joshua, your life touched mine in ways words can barely express. The memories we shared, the work we did together, and the fire you carried will never be forgotten.
Rest on, dear servant of God. Your race was meaningful, your impact undeniable, and your legacy eternal.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” — 2 Timothy 4:7
I pray to God to comfort your family and the church of God.

It doesn't feel real that you’re gone.
You were more than just my uncle; you were a role model. A kind soul who brought a strong presence into every room. The way God elevated you with grace and honor, your life is a testament of God’s blessing in the Joshua Family.
Pastor Emmanuel was an honorable man, had a charming laugh, and his presence reminded me every time why he’s my father’s best friend. A spitting image of him.
As a pastor, you didn’t just preach, you lived your faith. You showed love, patience, and compassion in a way that impacted everyone who knew you. Your life was a message in itself.
I’m grateful for every moment, every smile, every memory.
Though you’re no longer here with us, your spirit lives on, in the lives you touched, in the values you stood for, and in the love you gave so freely.
Rest well, Uncle. You will always be remembered, always be missed, and never be forgotten.
Michael Akpaniko Joshua - Nephew

The way God blessed you with such strength and grace is something I will always admire. Though you are no longer here, your spirit lives on in the lessons you taught and the love you gave.
Rest in peace, Uncle. You will always have a special place in my heart.
Highpraise Uwana Joshua - Niece

It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that I write this tribute to a man who meant so much to us, our beloved brother, Pastor Emmanuel Joshua.
To me, he was not just my husband’s brother, but a pillar of strength, a confidant, and my ever-reliable “go-to” person. His presence in our lives was a blessing we never took for granted. He gave so freely of himself, his time, his wisdom, his encouragement, always placing others before himself with a rare and beautiful selflessness.
To my husband, he was more than a brother; he was a best friend, a partner in life’s journey, and a constant source of support. The bond they shared was truly special, one built on love, faith, and unwavering loyalty. It is difficult to imagine how to navigate life without him, but we hold on to God’s grace, trusting that He will grant us the strength to endure this profound loss.
Pastor Emmanuel’s life was one of purpose and devotion. From his early days as a music leader in the church, where he ministered through songs and touched countless hearts, to his calling into pastoral leadership, he served God with passion and humility.
He was truly a soldier in the vineyard of the Lord, steadfast, committed, and always willing to give his all for the Kingdom. His generosity towards the house of God and his impact on the lives of those he encountered will never be forgotten.
Though our hearts ache with his absence, we take comfort in the assurance that Heaven has gained a faithful servant. We can only imagine the glorious welcome he has received, a grand reception for a life well lived in service to God.
Pastor Emmanuel, you have left an indelible mark on our hearts and in our lives. We will miss you deeply, your kindness, your guidance, your laughter, and your unwavering faith. We pray that God, in His infinite mercy, will grant us all the fortitude to bear this loss. Until we meet again, rest on in the bosom of the Lord.
With love and deep longing,
You will forever be in our hearts.
Pastor Mrs. Ofon Joshua – Sister in Law

We only met and got to know each other just a few years now, but it's like we have known each other for ages. I learnt from our relationship that it is not how long you know a person but how much and how well you know them that matters.
You were a jovial, friendly, open but very focused person. You were passioned about your calling and diligent in your service to God and mankind.
I will miss the humour and candour you always brought to bear whenever we engaged in discussions bothering on life in general and of the ministry.
We were looking forward to your visit to the UK in April (this month) but alas, this was not to be.
You have run your race, lived out your purpose and now you have called to rest. It's good night now but by the grace of God, we shall meet and see again in the morning of life eternal.

My dear beloved brother, confidant, and prayer energizer,
A true lover of God and His people. You were always one who desired the very best for both the family and the church. Your life was a living testament of prayer, and you constantly encouraged me to seek God through it. I remember vividly how you always said, "God answers prayer; if there is a man or woman that can pray, God will answer." It was through your unwavering faith and example that I found my place in the RCCG church, and for that, I am eternally grateful.
Even now, I still struggle to comprehend that you are no longer here. Your departure has left a void in our hearts, and though we mourn, we take solace in knowing that your gain is heaven’s joy. You are gone too soon, but we know that you rest in the loving embrace of our Heavenly Father.
Pastor Emmanuel Anietie Joshua, may you continue to rest in peace, basking in the bosom of the Almighty God.
Jehovah sees,
Jehovah knows.
With love and fond memories,
Esther Emem Joshua - Sister

What can I say? Words are not enough to describe the depth of my grief. I do not know how long it will take for this pain to heal.
You were the pillar and support system of our family, both spiritually and physically. Your life was a blessing, and you played a vital role in the growth and unity of the family, as well as in the church of God over which you faithfully presided.
It is a painful reality that you have gone to be with the Lord. Heaven has gained a devoted servant, but we, your family, have suffered a great and irreplaceable loss.
May your gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
From your brother:
Raphael Uwana Joshua - 5th brother

It saddens my heart that you are no longer physically here with me, but I hold firmly to the hope that we shall meet again, never to part.
You were more than a brother to me; you were dependable, reliable, and ever-present. In you, I found a shoulder to lean on and a heart that truly cared.
Even in the most difficult and uncertain times, when hope seemed lost, your words of encouragement lifted me. You constantly reminded me that only God has the power to turn every situation in our favour, and that truth gave me strength.
Adieu, my dear brother. Truly, heaven has gained you, though my heart feels the loss deeply. Yet, I am confident that your life and legacy were not in vain.
Goodnight, my beloved brother, until we meet again.
IMOH JOSHUA - 4th Brother

Today, we gather with hearts weighed down by mourning, yet lifted by deep gratitude to God, as we honor and celebrate the extraordinary life of our beloved brother, Pastor Emmanuel Anietie Joshua, a true vessel of God’s grace, a devoted shepherd, and a shining light in a dark world.
Emmanuel was more than a brother; he was a pillar of strength, a source of wisdom, and a living example of Christ’s love. In the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), he served with humility, passion, and unwavering commitment. His life was a powerful testimony of faith in action, preaching the gospel with sincerity, praying with fervency, counseling the troubled, restoring hope to the discouraged, and pointing countless souls to the saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
He carried his calling with rare grace. His kindness was genuine, his humility profound, and his devotion to God absolute. He lived not for himself, but for others, always ready to lift the weary, strengthen the weak, and encourage the fainthearted. His footsteps left deep, lasting imprints on every life he touched. Truly, the world is better because Pastor Emmanuel Joshua walked this earth.
Though our hearts ache with the pain of his absence, and a void remains that no one else can fill, we refuse to mourn as those without hope. We find comfort in the timeless words of Scripture: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7). Our dear brother has completed his assignment on earth. He has laid down his armor as a good Christian soldier and has entered into the joy and rest of his Master.
Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints. Today, Pastor Emmanuel stands in the presence of the King, receiving the crown of righteousness reserved for all who have loved His appearing. One day, by the grace of God, we shall meet again, not in sorrow, but in eternal glory, where there will be no more parting, no more pain, and no more tears.
You were more than a brother to me; you were a dependable and reliable companion.
When hope seemed lost, your words of encouragement reminded me that only God can turn the tide in our favor. Those words will forever remain with me.
I remember the times we played Table Tennis and football together, though you always have the upper hand.
I cannot forget the song We loved to sing, one that now echoes in my heart and brings comfort even in this season of grief:
“I will hold to His hands, God’s unchanging hands (2x) Build my hopes on things eternal,
I will hold to God’s unchanging hands.
Let us hold to His hands, God’s unchanging hands (2x) Let us build our hopes on things eternal,
Let us hold to God’s unchanging hands.”
Though you are gone, this message of hope and assurance lives on. It reminds us to remain steadfast, trusting in God whose promises never fail.
We will deeply miss his warm voice, his heartfelt prayers, his wise counsel, his contagious laughter, and his comforting presence. Yet we rejoice that his life was not in vain. His legacy lives on in every soul he led to Christ, in every life he transformed, and in every heart he touched with love.
Thank you, dear brother, for your sacrificial service in RCCG and at large to the Kingdom of God. Thank you for your friendship, your leadership, your integrity, and your unwavering faith. Your labor of love will never be forgotten.
Farewell, faithful servant of the Most High.
Adieu, good and faithful soldier of Christ.
Until we meet again at the feet of our Lord Jesus, rest in perfect peace.
Forever in our hearts,
Your loving brother and family,
Pastor Samuel Ime Joshua - Second Brother

Words cannot capture my appreciation of your life for the short time of 53 years that I knew you. I'll always love you for whom you were when alive but will truly miss you. Continue to rest in the bosom of the Almighty God.
Dr. Theophilus Akpan Joshua - First Brother.

Pastor Emmanuel Joshua 's name was more than a title, he was a mentor, a friend and a brother who made the heavy burdens of life feel just a little lighter.
For ten years, Zambia was not just a post for him, it was his home. He did not come to Zambia merely to work, he came to love to serve, and to love to serve, and to become part of the very fabric of our communities, As a pioneer of mission work, he walked paths that were often difficult, yet he did so with steady unwavering pace of one who knew exactly whose hands he was holding, together we built, we planted, and we prayed and in every season, he stood as a cornerstone of faith and vision.
To those of us who had the privilege of being mentored by hi, his guidance was never heavy handed, he taught us not just through his sermons, but through his life. He was a man who understood that true leadership is rooted in service and that to guide others, one must be willing to work beside them. He challenged us to grow, he corrected us with grace, and he celebrated our victories as if they were his own. But perhaps what we will miss the the most is the laughter, Pastor Emmanuel Joshua had an uncany ability to find the humor in the ordinary and joy in the the unexpected, in the most intense mission days, when fatigue threatened to set in, he was the one who could break the tension with a joke or a witty remark, turning a dull moment into a memory we would cherish forever. He reminded us that God is a God of joy and he lived that truth daily. Above all, he was a man who loved deeply, He loved his wife with a devotion that modeled Christ' s love for the church, and he was a father whose pride in his family knew no bounds. He was our brother, our confidant and our friend.
He arrived in Zambia as a missionary, but he left as a beloved son of the soil. His legacy is not written only in the churches he helped build or the missions he pioneered ; it is written in the hearts of the countless people he mentored, the lives he touched and the laughter that still echoes in our memories.
Rest well, dear brother. Your work here is complete, and you heard the words we all long to hear; " well done, good and faithful servant."
Pastor Charles Hamakwembo, Resident Pastor AC4 HQ- LightHouse Arena, Lusaka Zambia.

Voice to the nations, Early morning group and of Liberty Christian Connections Ilford will miss you a lot pastor Joshua.
Keep on resting till we meet to part no more. You're such an inspiration to all that sits under your ministrations.
With deep gratitude to God, we celebrate the life and legacy of a true servant of the Most High, Pastor Emmanuel Joshua.
Though our hearts feel the weight of his departure, we rejoice in the assurance of Scripture:
“Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.” Psalm 116:15 (KJV)
Pastor Emmanuel Joshua was not just a minister of the gospel, he was a vessel of divine purpose, a man of humility, devotion, and unwavering commitment to the Kingdom of God. His life spoke louder than his words, reflecting Christ in simplicity, sincerity, and service.
We remember with profound gratitude the significant role he played alongside our father in the Lord, as they stood together in prayer at the very venue where our parish, RCCG Lifeline Connections London, was birthed. That sacred moment of intercession laid a spiritual foundation upon which lives continue to be transformed today. Truly, he was a destiny helper and a kingdom builder.
He was a man who carried grace without noise, authority without pride, and power without display. His humility made room for God’s glory to shine through him. He was devoted: devoted to God, devoted to the work, and devoted to the advancement of the gospel.
The impact of his prayers, his labour, and his quiet sacrifices will echo into eternity. Though he may no longer be with us physically, the seeds he sowed remain alive, bearing fruit in this generation and beyond.
We take comfort in the Word of God:
“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” , 2 Timothy 4:7 (KJV)
Indeed, Pastor Emmanuel Joshua fought well, finished strong, and kept the faith.
To the family, the church, and all who were blessed by his life, we pray that the God of all comfort will strengthen your hearts and grant you peace in this season.
Sleep on, faithful servant.
Rest in the bosom of your Lord.
Your labour was not in vain.
Your legacy lives on Sir.

RCCG Lifeline Connections London

Today, I celebrate the life of my father, Pastor Emmanuel Anietie Joshua; a man of faith, discipline, and quiet strength.
My dad was a man who loved order and excellence. He couldn’t stand dirt; everything had to be clean, neat, and in place. That was simply who he was. And just as much as he loved cleanliness, he loved to dress well. My dad had style. Sometimes I would look at some of his outfits and have questions, but he would just smile and say, “you don’t know fashion jor.” And somehow, he would still step out looking sharp every single time.
One of the things I’ll always hold close to my heart is how we used to pick out his outfits together. Those little moments meant more than words can explain.
My dad was also a quiet man. He didn’t talk too much, but he observed everything. That was something we had in common. He used to say he could tell if he would be friends with someone from the very first meeting, and honestly, he was usually right.
I remember the first time I drove him. He paid attention to everything. He would calmly point out what I could have done better, but he also made sure to acknowledge when I got it right. That was who he was; he corrected with wisdom, but he also encouraged with love.
And if you knew my dad well, you would know he was an amazing cook. I learned how to cook from my mum, taking my time and following each step carefully. But my dad would say, “what you’re using two hours to do, I’ll do it in 45 minutes and it will be sweeter than yours.” And the funny thing is, he was right. He would cook the same meal in less time, and you’d be licking your plate when you were done.
Beyond all these memories, my dad was deeply devoted to God. He gave his life to Christ at a young age and spent his life serving faithfully as a pastor, a missionary, and a leader. He travelled across nations, built churches, raised people, and impacted countless lives. He served in different parts of Nigeria and beyond, nurturing faith and guiding many.
But to me, he was more than all of that. He was my father, my guide, and my quiet teacher.
Though I mourn his passing, I do not mourn without hope. I take comfort in the life he lived and the God he served so faithfully.
Daddy, thank you for everything. Thank you for your love, your guidance, your discipline, and your quiet strength. I will miss you more than words can ever express, but I’m grateful for every moment I had with you.
You fought the good fight, you finished your race, and you kept the faith. Now you rest in the Father’s house, where there are many rooms prepared for those who love Him.
Until we meet again, keep resting in His glory.
May your soul rest in perfect peace.

My Covenant Brother, Missionary of Excellence – A Glorious Exit
Today, with a mix of deep sorrow and profound gratitude, I honour the life of a great servant of God, Pastor E.A. Joshua—my covenant brother, a missionary of excellence, and a vessel of uncommon grace.
His life was not just lived; it was poured out—a true offering unto God and humanity.
Pastor E.A. Joshua was a man of covenant—steadfast, dependable, and unwavering in his devotion to God and to the assignments entrusted into his hands. In a generation where commitment is often fleeting, he stood as a pillar of consistency.
Our bond was not merely friendship; it was spiritual—a covenant rooted in purpose, sharpened by prayer, and sustained by divine calling.
As a missionary of excellence, he carried the Gospel with dignity, passion, and precision. He did not do the work of God casually; he did it excellently. Whether in the pulpit, on the mission field, or in quiet acts of service, he reflected a heart fully yielded to God.
His footsteps brought light to dark places, hope to weary souls, and strength to the body of Christ.
He was a man of impact—raising lives, nurturing destinies, and building with eternity in view. Many are standing today because he stood for them in prayer. Many have found direction because he pointed them to Christ.
And now, he has taken a glorious exit.
For the Bible says, “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints” (Psalm 116:15).
His departure is not a loss in heaven—it is a celebration. He has finished his race, kept the faith, and received the crown of righteousness.
Though our hearts feel the weight of his absence, we rejoice in the assurance that he has entered into rest—into glory—into the presence of the One he served so faithfully.
My covenant brother, you may be gone from our sight, but you will never be gone from our hearts. Your legacy speaks. Your works follow you. Your impact is eternal.
Sleep on, soldier of Christ.
Rest on, faithful missionary.
Rise in glory, beloved brother.
Until we meet again at the feet of our Lord.
Adieu, Pastor E.A. Joshua. Your labour was not in vain.
