Olive Simmons, 78, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2024. Olive was the light that shone bright so others could find their way. She was a giving soul who welcomed everyone to her home regardless of the time of day. An amazing cook whose culinary expertise tantalized your palate well beyond meal time. We will always hear the music, share the laughter, and continue to watch her dance and wine!
Olive Simmons was born on April 15th, 1946 in Siparia, Trinidad. In 1965, Olive met Orville in Trinidad. Olive and Orville had 4 children, Marissa, Densil, Kurt & Kyle. Mother-in-law of Stuart and Tamera, Grandmother to 5; Alexa, Zuri, Adia, Maleah, and Armani with a 6th grandbaby on the way and a step-great-granddaughter.
Olive is predeceased by her Mother Doris Vidale Asson, Father Ulric Asson (Day Day), and brother Michael Asson. She is survived by her brothers & sisters Winston Asson, Rudolph Asson, Agnes Waterman, Jean Asson Bentley, Kathleen Asson Stephen, Antoinette Copland, Elizabeth Chandler, and Margaret Asson Sealey. Sister-in-law to Selwyn Waterman, Dennis Copland, Clayton Chandler, Gabriel Stephen Snr, and Irving Bentley (Deceased).
Olive was the Aunt to 15, Stacey, Kern, Mandisa, Esan, Fayola, Masika, Safiya, Dwayne, Gabriel Jr., Coreen, Corrie, Fiona, Raeann, Debbesa, and Debbieann, Great Aunt to 16.
Friends Ann Marie Bostick, Juanita Ross, Jennifer Dunn, Elaine Campbell, Anthony Lazar, Uncle Clyde, Selwyn Asson, Patty Zakhour, and many others.
The heavenly angels welcome Olive, our shining bright light, to her rightful place in heaven - she now watches over all of us.
May she rest in eternal peace.
