And this is the promise that He has promised us—eternal life. - 1 John 2:25
Nkechi Ene passes on to Glory
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing into glory of God’s servant, our wife, daughter, mother, aunty, Pastor, and friend, Pastor Nkechi Ene, on Wednesday, 29th October 2025. Pastor Kech returned to Nigeria exhausted after a successful and extensive ministry trip, marked by miracles and testimonies. She experienced a sudden health crisis while in Lagos.
As our hearts hurt and questions assail our minds while we process this shocking news we rest assured in the unwavering truth that God is the good God and His mercies endure forever. He is always faithful. Pastor is in a better place, for to be with Christ is far better (Phil. 1:23). As Apostle Paul said, “For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain” (Phil. 1:21). Our pastor was a woman of great faith, who lived, and believed the Word of God till the very end. She gave her life in service of God and His people. She has now heard the words from her Master, “Well done, good and faithful servant” (Matt. 25:21).
Despite the void of her departure, we are grateful to God for an excellent and productive life well lived. We honour and celebrate one of the great generals of God in our generation—one who lived and taught the undiluted Word of God, danced with the Holy Spirit, and who by precept and example taught us to do the same. Her life was an impactful one of faith in God, selfless, sacrificial service, and a profound love for God and humanity.
Though now absent from us, her impact and legacy endure in our hearts and in our lives. The Lord is good and His mercies endure forever. We thank God for her beautiful life and remarkable exploits in the body of Christ. Praise God! Hallelujah!!
He is faithful.

My siblings and I at the time felt it was an overdose as we would have just finished the family morning devotion; but reminiscing, we recognise that that experience was our first practical class in delaying gratification and more importantly, giving to God first—a regular teaching from our dad.
Thank you very much, Pastor Nkechi Ene for being used of God to build us up in this way.
Continue to rest in perfect peace. You won! You’re victorious
You fought a good fight.
You kept the faith.
You finished strong and gained the mastery.
There is no doubt that you are already wearing your crown with joy.
We will miss you sorely on this side of eternity. But the seeds you planted in us will continue to speak for generations
My beautiful Woman of God… my Pastor, my teacher, a true mother in Israel, the finest pastor in town....no, let me say it as it truly is: the finest pastor ever!
I rejoice because you fulfilled your calling, and there is no doubt that you are already wearing your crown with joy.
We will miss you sorely on this side of eternity. But the seeds you planted in us will continue to speak for generations.
Rest well, Pastor Kech.
Forever in our hearts.🩷🩷🩷
I was praying and believing that one day we would sit and gist together like we used but death has truncated such dream, desire, and expectation.
You were many things to me.
A pastor
A boss
A landlord etc.
We did many things and created good memories together ❤.
The most remarkable/memorable one was the Prophetic faith action we took towards marriage.
I remember how you welcomed and supported that Prophetic move when I showed you the material for my wedding gown.
At that time there was no man in view, yet you took me to a professional designer to design the gown, trusting that the man will show up.
When we got there, the designer didn't approve of my material for a wedding gown, rather, she recommended satin material.
You paid for the material and the sewing, that is, you took care of my wedding gown.
When the designer insisted that we give her the time we were looking at for the wedding, we just looked at each other in some kind shock, then I just said, 1st quarter of the following year.
God honoured us, brought a man who was ready for marriage and 1st quarter of 2004, precisely 13/03/2004 my wedding happened.
Apart from the gown, you ordered my wedding shoes from Obodo oyibo, all bills on you. Even when the first shoe didn't fit, you still were able to return and changed it to what I wore on that beautiful and glorious wedding day.
Another beauty of it was that I dressed from your house to my wedding venue.
You were part of it from beginning to conclusion.
Like I said earlier, we did many things together which I can't write all here.
For the 16 years I worked with you, you became a huge part of my life so my story will be incomplete without you.
Thank you for all the good things you did for me.
Rest on woman of God.

It was a cool Saturday morning, in the 90's; I came out to clean the TV room, still feeling a little sleepy. I decided to switch on the television to keep me company as I cleaned. As i flipped the channel to EBS, there she was; Pastor Nkechi Ene. At first, I was drawn to her smile (very loving and welcoming) and then her name. I said to myself, "Who is this pretty Igbo lady Pastor, on TV preaching?" I was glad to see a female preacher on TV, one that was close to home.
Before then, I only knew a few female preachers, who taught the word of God publicly; the likes of Bimbo Odukoya, Kathrine Kulman & Joyce Meyer.
I sat down, listened and was captivated by the Word shared that morning. The message was taught in a very simple but heart-hitting manner. My Spirit connected and I was hooked to 'Fresh dew', every Saturday morning.
One of those mornings, my dad joined me to watch 'Fresh dew' (I had told him about an Igbo lady preacher on TV, that i loved). Immediately he saw her name, he recognized her (but he didn't inform me that she was his close friend's daughter-in-law, at that time). He told me she was from our home state and local government. I was wowed and felt connected more.
The way Pastor Kech taught the word of God was so unique. She has this ability to make the word of God understandable. By using simple terms to teach the revelating knowledge in the Word of God, she is able to draw people to the Gospel of Christ. Indeed, She is anointed to prophetically teach the Word of God with grace expressed in clarity and charisma.
I truly admired her courage and obedience in answering the call to service; resulting in her transition from a successful engineering career to full-time ministry. It's really inspiring!
My Pastor Kech is indeed a phenomenal and blessed Woman. Lives will continue to be transformed by the Word of God, through your teachings!
Rest on but remember, it's never goodbye, only Hello!

The Ike family (Chiemeka, Victor, Zoe, Ezra, Ezekiel)
After the initial shock of learning of your passing, I turned my heart to Thanksgiving for your life. A life well lived in total surrender to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. A life that blessed me and countless others. A life that will keep on giving through the incredible word you deposited while you were on this side of eternity.
You are FULLY ALIVE now in the presence of the Lord, and I know that for you there is ONLY JOY in its fullness.
Thank you for always being so kind and loving to me. Thank you for standing with me during a challenging season last year. Thank you for the role you played in enlightening my understanding of our hope in Christ. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Rest well, dear Pastor.

I knew you almost as soon as I knew myself. You weren't my biological sister, you were my cousin, and our families spent a lot of time together as we grew up in Lagos, Nigeria.
I connected with you mmediately as we shared things in common; we were the same age, though through the years you jokingly insisted you were much older because of the few months between our birthdays, we chatted about everything and nothing, and you often had me in stitches as we shared our 'girlish' jokes.
My primary school was close to your home. It was arranged between our parents that they would drop me off early in the morning at yours and pick me up later in the evening, and so I always looked forward to the times we spent together, riding bikes down your Close, running around in your garden, picking cherries, or sometimes just taking a nap.
As we grew into our teens, we became close friends, we attended the same secondary school, had some common friends, but even then I admired the spirit of excellence in you as I watched you distinguish yourself academically.
Like a shooting star you moved on swiftly into University, excelling in your field of study with a first-class degree.
We were apart for sometime, but not long after I gave my life to Christ in the 1990's God brought us together again in the city of PortHarcourt whilst I was a Youth Corper.
You invited me to live with you and your husband for a while before I settled down, which was huge for me and I really appreciated it. I grew up as a Christian believer in your home and was impacted greatly by the life of faith and integrity you and Emeka lived out, which was a testimony and springboard for the new life God wanted me to exemplify.
Later on when you became a pastor, I was happy to call you Pastor 'Kech' like every other person, respecting the grace and call of God upon your life, but you started addressing me as 'Coz', I suspect, for us to relate on some common footing.
I will never forget you and Emeka's generosity in my life. You never tired of being a blessing to me. There were crucial times I was stranded in the past and when I prayed to God, out of nowhere He used you to meet my need! I've always looked forward to when I could do half the things you did for me.
Right now I don't know how to express the impact of your passing on,, it still feels surreal as I write. I can only take solace in God's word that says in
Psalms 34:18 KJV
[18] The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; And saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
You were more than my cousin, you were my confidante, my best friend, a destiny helper and I'm grateful to God for giving me the privilege of being a part of your life.
I pray God will uphold and strengthen your family and the flock of the Carpenters Church at this difficult time.
I love you Pastor Nkechi Ene. 'Till we meet again at the feet of Jesus Christ never to part again.
Naomi
You are greatly missed. Your impact in my life and family is forever indelible in our memory. Adieu mum.
Rest in Power and in the might of our Lord.
We cannot begin to imagine the depth of your pain, but we hope you find comfort in the fond memories you shared together and in the love and support of family, friends, and colleagues. Your wife’s kindness and grace will be remembered by all who knew her, and her legacy will continue to live on through the lives she touched.
Please be assured that our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. May God grant her soul eternal rest and give you the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
With deepest sympathy,
As you rest, I say farewell — Glory be to God.
I've come to know you more in death, and I believe many others too, if that’s any consolation for our aching hearts. Hitherto, I had only listened to your sermons at WOFBEC,
but since the announcement of your passing, I've found myself searching for anything and everything that has your name or face on it. I've listened more and more to tons upon tons of hours of your messages. I've listened intently. And Oh, what a powerful man of God with breast you were as you loved to describe yourself! And now my heart breaks even more, but I look to Father of mercies and the God of all comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3).
Good morning, Pastor Kech, a very good morning in heaven. Say me well to Pastor Charles. All my love to the family, the church, and the dear friends you left behind.
It’s been a week since the announcement of your passing, and it still feels like a dream.
Never in my wildest imagination did I think I would be writing this, certainly not now, nor anytime soon.
I still have an email I wanted to send to you, but I decided to wait until you returned from your trip. How I wish I had sent it sooner.
You will be greatly missed, Pastor. I thank God for the gift that you were to us and to the body of Christ at large. I am deeply grateful to have known you as my Pastor, my boss, my mum and so much more.
Our Mother in Israel — loving, compassionate, and selfless.
Our Shepherd after God’s heart — you taught us the undiluted Word of God with simplicity and power.
You were an audacious woman of faith who gave no room to fear, no matter the situation. You didn’t just preach faith; you lived it.
Thank you for all you were to me, to my family, to TCC, and to the body of Christ. Your impact will live on through generations.
Your departure hurts deeply, but we are comforted by the assurance that you are now in the presence of the Father whom you loved and served so passionately.
Keep resting, dearest Pastor.
Your Onyii
Though she is no longer with us in body, her light continues to shine through the countless lives she inspired. Her memory will remain a lasting source of comfort, love, and guidance to all who knew her.
May her soul rest in perfect peace, and may God comfort and strengthen the family and friends she leaves behind.
Dr. David Nzekwu
Listening to her for the first-time at WAFBEC now WOFBEC was a divine leading and her uniqueness of preaching with pidgin was too exceptional. Seeing her for the first time in January at WOFBEC Abuja was a blessing that I'll forever cherish.
Rest on God's Own Vessel!
She was such an amazing personality who communicated clear teachings on biblical principles, addressing relationships in the area of marriage. She was a mentor and counselor for the young people. Her family. Her family, congregation and viewers like me will miss her. Woman of God rest in peace.
My God cannot forget her love and sacrifices to me and so many other.
May God comfort her Family, TCC and the Christian body at large. She was truly God's general.

A candle lit by Heaven’s hand, She burned so brightly with fervent fire — Teaching truth untainted, Feeding souls with living Word, Guiding hearts to faith’s higher ground.
Pastor Nkechi Ene was more than a pastor — she was a shining vessel of faith, love, and divine truth. A consummate woman of faith wholly yielded to God, she dedicated her life to teaching the undiluted Word with clarity, conviction, and compassion. An ardent believer in the gospel of our Lord Jesus, her messages were not mere sermons; they were life-transforming encounters that stirred and impacted hearts, strengthened faith, and deepened our walk with God. Her ministrations often manifested God's power demonstrated in signs and miracles.

Her life was a melody of sacrifice, Each note a testimony of grace.
She lived sacrificially — giving of herself and substances without reserve. Her selflessness was evident in the countless lives she touched, the families she uplifted, and the many she inspired to serve God more passionately.
She lived not for herself,
But for others — for the flock, for the children,
For every searching heart that crossed her path.
Her arms were open, her smile a sermon, Her words — rivers of truth flowing from a heart anchored in Christ.
A great lover of children,
She saw in them the promise of tomorrow, the Future Church Speaking life, light, and laughter into their souls.
As wife and mother, she was exemplary — Strong yet tender, wise yet humble, A crown of virtue to her home and to the Body of Christ.
Balancing her home, her ministry, and her calling with grace, wisdom, and gentleness. She stood as a pillar of strength and virtue, modeling what it means to live for Christ both privately and publicly.
She understood purpose and committment to purpose. Her energy and zeal were infectious. Even in her Fight, her strength lights up when she preaches.
Though she has finished her race, her legacy of faith, love, and truth continues to shine brightly. We celebrate her life — a life well-lived for God she loved so dearly; and humanity.
Pastor Kech, or PK, as we fondly called you, your light will never dim in our hearts. Thank you for showing us how to live, love, and serve God wholeheartedly.
Glory be to God!!!, you would always repeat as you began each message.
And we join you to declare, " Glory Be to God" to the God who blessed us and gave us opportunity to walk this path with you. To the God to whom you return as finished your race here. To the God who is ever good and whose mercies endure forever. To the God who now welcomes you with His ministers, chanting, " Welcome home beloved and faithful daughter"

Please accept our deepest condolences Sir.

Pastor had a passion for the younger generation, such that sometimes, she would leave the adult church to be the Minister for The Carpenters Teens Church (TCTC) for a full Sunday service, Preaching, Teaching, and Taking Questions and Answers from Teenagers. She will be as practical as possible, and even wear jeans and trainers to preach, to feel like us.
Pastor taught us how to balance spirituality with academic excellence and inspired me to make a first class degree in Engineering from her own testimony. She made one in Electrical Engineering, and by God’s grace, i bagged one in Construction Engineering. She challenged every teenager under her then, to be excellent in academics, at a time when it wasn’t popular.
When i gained a scholarship in 2006 to go to Russia for university studies, she celebrated with me, and ordered the church accountant to release funds to me for my trip in both dollars and naira. A few days to my trip, she still invited me to her house, and gave me extra $300 for my trip. It wasn’t about the amounts given, rather it was the commitment, the love, the thought, the value placed on those she was privileged to Pastor.
We maintained email correspondence throughout my University days, because she would make sure i was still on track. I checked my old email yesterday, and i was shocked to see how many detailed emails we shared.
In 2009, she visited Russia with her husband for an official function, and remembered to check on me. She had a brief stay, at a city quite distant far from mine, yet she called me, prayed with me and asked for my address. She said she was sending me a letter from her hotel to my hostel. I received it in a few days, only to find dollars in wrapped in the letter!
Thank you dear Pastor for giving to your generation! Thank you for loving and teaching us how to love. Your impact and legacy would not be forgotten!

Dearest Pastor Kech,
Heaven gained a general, and though our hearts are heavy, gratitude outweighs grief. You have entered your rest, hearing the sweetest words any servant longs for — “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”
I still remember being that little boy of eight or nine, watching Breakfast Television on RSTV back in 1998. Before my favourite show came on, there was a voice — calm, confident, clothed in grace. It was you. I didn’t know your name then, but your words lit a spark that never went out.
Years later, I discovered that the same voice that stirred my childhood faith belonged to the very woman God destined to be my Pastor — my covering, my compass, my Mother in Israel.
Even the thought of moving partly back to Port Harcourt once made me hesitate, until I remembered — I’d get to sit under your ministry again. That changed everything. You became one of the best things that ever happened to my spiritual life. I am not where I want to be yet, but I am certainly not where I used to be — and for that, I am forever grateful.
You are my woman of God international, my spiritual father in wisdom and depth, my leader extraordinaire, and a lover of truth and people. You taught us to live by the Word, to stand firm in faith, and to serve God with excellence and joy.
Your life was a sermon. Your walk was worship. Your voice — a call to higher living.
We are your legacy — a legacy built on the unshakeable foundation of God’s Word.
Rest well, Mama Kech. You have run your race with grace and finished with honour.
We shall meet again, but until then, we carry your torch and walk in your light.
With love, honour, and eternal gratitude,
T.S. Alalibo
A grateful son of the house — The Carpenter’s Church (TCC)

you taught me how to love, and this hurts so much because you loved us deeply. there's no way anyone could know me personally and not know my church and my pastor.
thank you for every freshdew session, every teen camp, the workers' retreat, and every single church service.
i have been so heartbroken since the news, but i know you fought the good fight and have finished the race.
for when we mourn, we do not mourn like those who have no hope, we have hope in Christ.
who else but you to be with our Lord? rest in power, my Mother in Israel.
It is with a heavy heart that I express my deepest condolences on the passing of Pastor Kesh. She was a true woman of God whose life reflected the beauty of righteousness and unwavering faith in the Lord.
Pastor Kesh’s words were filled with divine wisdom they brought light, comfort, and life to so many people, including myself. She lived a life that inspired others to draw closer to God and to walk faithfully in His purpose.
Though it is painful to say goodbye, I take solace in knowing that she has gone to be with the Lord she loved and served so passionately. I believe she is now resting in His glorious presence, smiling down on us with that same warmth and grace that she shared while here with us.
Her legacy of love, faith, and service will continue to live on in our hearts and in every life she touched. May God’s peace and strength be with her family and all who mourn her passing.
Rest well, Pastor Kesh your light will never fade.

You left too soon. I will never forget the elegant way you used to stand up in form 1v to form 3v to answer questions brilliantly in our classes at Queen's College Lagos 1980 to 1985. May your soul rest in peace. My condolences to your entire family, your ministries, and the body of Christ. This is Latifat Mustapha.
Though I am from Venezuela, 23 years ago our paths crossed, and since then, she and her family became my own.
she was a constant source of prayer, wisdom, and love.
Her faith, kindness, and gentle spirit touched my life in ways words can’t describe.
I am forever grateful for her prayers, her guidance, and the blessing of being part of her family’s journey.
You will always live in my heart, Mrs. Nkechi. Love you!!!!
I thanks God for the opportunity of seeing you at the International Faith Conference last week in Houston and give you a hug that will stay with me forever!
My thoughts and prayers are with Mrs Mercy,
Mr. Emeka, Zoe, Chloe, Tracy, and Osi.
May God comfort them with His peace and surround them with His love.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
— 2 Timothy 4:7
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
— Revelation 21:4

All the times she welcomed us in her home. Her amazing birthday party and sleepover hosting skills (I still practice her fly catching techniques!). She contributed a great deal to my happy childhood memories. I will always remember her warm smile and kind embrace. Pastor Kech, your Ncholokoto will miss you dearly.
Thank you for being a great role model for faith, leadership, marraige and family.
Mama I love you, you will forever be in my heart.
Mom as you were fondly called, where or how will I begin this write up from kwanu….! You were more than a mother figure to me and everyone around you— a true inspiration, a rare gem. Your warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit always leaves a mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing you for realllll….!

Ma, you carried yourself with such grace and quiet strength. You nurtured many beyond your own family, offering guidance, encouragement, education, gifts and comfort whenever it was needed. Your words were full of wisdom, your smile full of warmth, and your presence full of peace.
You were a woman of deep faith, wisdom, and compassion. Your words were always full of encouragement, your laughter sincere, and your presence comforting. You gave so much of yourself to others, never seeking recognition — only the joy of seeing people around you grow, comforted and smile.
