Nicole Elizabeth Horton, a caring and loving soul, moved on from this world on October 6th, 2024.
Obituary
On October 6th, 2024, Nicole passed away peacefully in her sleep.
Nicole wanted to be a vet early in life because of her deep love for animals. While this is ultimately not the career path she chose, that same spirit of compassion, the desire to help others, and her willingness to do hard things led to her to nursing, most importantly for her, in the NICU. Because of her personal experiences, she was constantly looking to increase her knowledge and education, most recently by pursuing an accreditation to become a Diabetes Educator.
Nicole had a passion for cooking, grilling, and baking, frequently hosting dinners and parties for both family and her tight-knit group of friends. These soirees frequently included baked goods, and she had perfected making these both gluten, and at times, dairy free. Those who were fortunate enough to taste them were often surprised by this fact.
Nicole, has her fur babies, Roux and Bella, and her human family, consisting of both relatives and her strong, chosen tribe, to carry her memory forward.
To Nicole- you are, and will forever, be dearly missed and loved. Those of us remaining behind will carry your spirit forward. Enjoy the stars, and remember- oooossssaaaa...
