YuHsiang Mimi Alexander was born to the late Xu Qing-Jin and Xu Zhang Yue-Ying on March 28, 1954 in NanChou, Taiwan. Mimi was the third child of six in the family. She departed this earthly life on Wednesday, May 22, 2024.
Mimi married John W. Alexander III in 1972 in Taiwan. John and Mimi have lived in Taiwan, Ohio, and California. They celebrated their 50th Anniversary recently at the Dragon House on Magnolia in Riverside surrounded by family and friends.
John and Mimi had four children: Geoffrey, Jessica, Jaclyn and Joshua. Geoffrey, born in Taiwan in 1974, passed away at 17 days old in Hawaii. Jessica married Scott Harrison and they reside in Lancaster, PA with their 10 children: Molly, Scott, Michael, Jack, Noah, Grace, Calvin, Paige, Robert, and Quinn. Jaclyn married Matthew Kulp and they reside in New Holland, PA with their 5 children: Jaxon, Jahsin, Jephrey, Jaymeson, and Meikenzie. Joshua married Melissa Espinoza and they reside in Riverside, CA with their 3 children: Austin, Trenton, and Owen. In total, John and Mimi have 18 grandchildren.
Mimi was a stay-at-home mom to her three children until she started a career as a Florist in the early '90s. She worked at several flower shops across the Inland Empire, notably Occasions in the Brockton Arcade, Top of the Line by the Riverside Plaza, Al Johnson's off Jurupa Avenue, and Flowers Etc in Beaumont. Mimi retired from being a florist in 2017.
Mimi enjoyed playing tennis, attending Angels games with her husband John, crocheting blankets, stuffed animals, and socks for her family, as well as spending time with her grandchildren. She always enjoyed hosting, cooking, and feeding anyone that walked through the door.
