Obituary

Michael Stewart Pippin, 61 years old, of Montara, CA, peacefully passed away in January 2026 after a brave battle with cancer.

Born in Santa Monica to Shirley and Ronald Pippin, brother to David Pippin, Michael was a playful and affectionate boy. Growing up in Oxnard, then Santa Rosa, Michael loved surfing and sunsets. From a young age, he had a passion for the outdoors.

Michael worked many jobs in his younger years, including newspaper delivery boy, pizza parlor cook, and chef. This kick-started his passion for cooking, which he carried with him as he transitioned from a journeyman carpenter to a network technology engineer. In 1983, Michael met his wife, Charelle, and went on to have two children, Chelsey and Michaela. Michael put family first, always, and was a dedicated father.

Michael was a devoted husband and a strong, kind, loving, playful, and supportive dad. His knowledge and guidance were the foundation of his family.

Michael was a craftsman, music-lover, and passionate outdoorsman, raising his children to love hiking, biking, boating, skiing, camping, and bonfires. He is survived by his beloved wife, daughters, two sons-in-law, two grandchildren, and his nephew, who will carry on his love and passion in this life.

I don't know where to start, Mikey was such a vibrant part of our family. From our first snow ski trips to the cabin, when we all were first dating, our camping and water skiing trips, adventures in Reno, Camino, and lastly Montara. All of the weddings, births etc, so many happy memories. Our memorable trip to Italy and go figure, if there was a private party, there was Mikey and Charelle in the middle of it in Italy. He will so be missed by all of us. His outgoing personality never stopped. Always ready to party and strum his guitar. We love you Mikey and you will forever be in our hearts. Love to Charelle, our granddaughters, the great grands and husbands of grandchildren.

We had so many good times and lots of laughs with Mike & Charelle! Mike was always so excited to show us new places in and around Camino and recently in Montara. We just enjoyed hanging out and will miss Mike a lot!!!
