Michael Patrick Halladay

Obituary
Michael Halladay, age 53, passed away peacefully at his home in Colorado on March 28th, 2025. Michael grew up in Lakewood, CO where he played many sports from an early age. He excelled at track and field and later enjoyed learning and playing the sport of lacrosse. Michael attended Mullen High School and Wheat Ridge High School before setting off to begin life’s adventures after graduation. Michael attended the Colorado Institute of Art and graduated with a major in Culinary Arts. He began his career in the kitchen and worked at many notable restaurants, including a role as an Executive Chef at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV. Michael later forged a new career in loss prevention and retail security, holding management and supervisor roles for several companies.
Always loyal and generous, Michael will be long remembered for his quick smile and unselfish giving to help others with no hesitation. Michael was loved dearly by his friends and family. More importantly, he loved his friends and family even more. Michael always managed to have hope, find happiness, and keep sight of the most important things in life. His wonderful sense of humor allowed him to bring happiness to others. There was never a time that he would not drop what he was doing to help those in need, even at personal cost to himself. Michael was often commended by his employers and co-workers for his honesty, and work ethic.
One of Michael’s passions was playing his drums. In many ways, drumming equaled how he lived. Playing was his peace, his comfort, and his way of expressing who he was. His play could be loud, powerful, expressive, and meaningful. He sought tempo and balance in his play, just as in his life. He practiced and tried new things and added and removed elements of his drum kit to make sure he achieved the results needed. In his life, as with his drums, Michael always strived to make his world a little better.
He will be forever loved and missed.
Michael is survived by his mother, Theresa Halladay of Lakewood; his wife of six years, Jennifer Halladay (Mallory); his brother Tim Halladay; and his beloved family and friends. Michael was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Halladay.
