A Beautiful Soul, a Loving Heart, Forever in Our Lives

Obituary

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Merries Elaine Henry-Miller, who was born on 4th March 1966 and passed away peacefully on the 27th September 2026.

Merries was a wonderful Woman of God who will be remembered for her love and compassion for others, her infectious smile,  kindness, generosity,  wit, honesty, creativity and her meticulous attention to detail.   She was very stylish a shopaholic to say the least everything had to be color coordinated, she enjoyed life to the fullness she loved social events and enjoyed travelling with family and friends.  Merries loved her family, extended family and friends she was very protective over them.

Throughout life, Merries built lasting connections and touched many lives through simple acts of care, encouragement, and friendship. Conversations, shared moments, and everyday gestures created memories that will remain with those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Family meant a great deal to Merries, and relationships were always nurtured with patience and devotion. Friends valued her loyalty and sincerity, while colleagues appreciated dedication and a thoughtful approach to work and collaboration.

The passing of Merries leaves a void that cannot be filled. Yet the memories, lessons, and moments shared will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her.

Merries had the ability to heighten the atmosphere when she entered a room and will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by us all.

Merries joined Liberata on the very small NNDR team in 2020. From the beginning she was hard working, dedicated and determined. Merries approached every challenge with professionalism and commitment. We became a.close knit team who supported one another.
Merries was known for her wonderful sense of humour and being straight to the point, her honesty and wit and infectious personality. She had her special way of making us laugh whether through quick remarks or reminding us all about one of her upcoming holidays.
It was clear how much she loved her family and friends. Her faith was a.guiding force and.lived by her beliefs through kindness, generosity and compassion for others. She was deeply committed to helping those in need and not only here at home but abroad facing hardship and desperation. We will.miss her laugh and presence. She will remain in our hearts and memories. Rest in peace Merries 🙏

My dearest childhood friend Merries, we grew up together on Marney road Battersea, we laughed together and got on so well, you always had a beautiful smile, you were very protective and kind and friendly, and always stood your ground, you always made me laugh, and was always a pleasure to be with. Our families got on so well, your mum and my mum were good friends we all shared the same faith and they worked together at shell oil company, so our families were connected in more ways than one, you dressed smartly , I remember the diamond jumpers the skirts. Which you preferred, and the rings on your fingers, the last time I saw you was in Croydon near the hospital. I was on the phone and we spoke briefly, now looking back at that. I regret not stopping to catch up with you ( sorry) which I usual do, my heart goes out to your family and friends a great loss, but you have won the race, glory hallelujah, but knowing you are home with the father king Jesus and suffer no more. See you one glorious day my childhood friend, love you loads.

It’s hard to find the right words to say goodbye to someone as special as Merries.

Merries was not only my friend’s mother, she was also my client and someone I had the privilege of getting to know, and I will always be grateful that our paths crossed.

She was such a warm, funny and wonderful person, with a personality that could light up any room.

I know she loved to travel and enjoyed experiencing life and making memories. She also had a deep love for God, and her faith was clearly an important part of who she was.

I hope that brings comfort to her family and everyone who loved her during this incredibly difficult time.

Merries fought her battle, but I don’t want to remember her only for the illness she faced. I want to remember her for the laughter, the stories she told when she used to visit for her hair appointments, her sense of humour, her love of life, her faith, and the beautiful person she was.

My heart goes out to her family, especially her children and grandchildren as they navigate the pain of losing their mum and grand mother. I hope they can find comfort in knowing just how loved she was and in all the precious memories she leaves behind.

It was a privilege to know you, Merries. Thank you for the laughter, the conversations and the memories.

Rest peacefully in God’s loving arms. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. ❤️

I was so heartbroken to hear the passing of a beautiful dear friend Merries. We used to work together at Croydon Council and would still meet up regularly afterwards. I remembered when she first told me she was getting married, we met up in Costa Coffee, and how excited she was. I remember our meet up in Blue and Orange just before Christmas and we promised to meet again. I also remember her taking me to her church for a night service. I will miss her, I will miss our get togethers and chats. I wish I took more pictures of us. It gives me comfort to know she was in Christ. I would have definitely come to visit if I knew, however I am so glad I sent her Happy Birthday text this year. Prayers for Rochelle and Ashley during this difficult time. 🙏🏽
