Melinda Burns

Those who touch our lives, stay in our hearts forever.
Obituary
Melinda Burns, a beloved wife, step mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away on April 9, 2025, at the age of 61. Melinda was born on March 24, 1964, and spent her life enriching the lives of all who knew her.
For over 32 years, Melinda worked with her best friend and husband George, creating unique and life changing travel experiences to their many loyal clientele.
They loved their work which took them to many different continents including Iceland and Africa and enjoyed the many enriching conversations that ensued with their clients.
Melinda was not only a dynamic businesswoman but also a deeply devoted family woman. She is survived by her loving husband, George Burns, and her two step children, who have been her pride and joy. Her extended family held a special place in her heart: Sister in law Gracia Quarry; Stepdaughter Heather Burns and her three children; Stepson Greg Burns and his wife Bayley and their three children; her supportive sister Delena Angrignon and her husband Russ; and her beloved mother, Diane Mellenger.
In 2022, a fuzzy warm soul named Beckett, a golden doodle, joined their family bringing so much joy and laughter. It also sparked a new community of dog walking friends.
Her faith in Jesus was at the centre of her life and what guided her til the end. Throughout her cancer journey, her trust in Jesus allowed her to experience a peace that passes all understanding.
Melinda's warmth and tireless energy left a mark on everyone she encountered. She was known for her kindness, joyful spirit, and an unwavering commitment to both her family and her community. She was naturally cheerful and had a playful personality that made her a hit with the 6 grandchildren. Her laughter would light up the room.
Melinda will be remembered not only for her contributions to the travel industry but also for her dedication to family and friends, her radiant smile, and her generous heart. Her absence leaves a profound void in the lives of those fortunate enough to have known her, but her loving spirit will continue to inspire us all.
She is also survived by her father Joe and his wife Maya and her half sister Lisa.
To celebrate her life and legacy, a service will be held on May 23, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and share in the beautiful memories of a woman who touched many lives. Please RSVP.
