Obituary
With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Mel Sant, who was born on March 25th, 1939 and passed away on April 8th, 2026 in Sherman Oaks.
Mel will be remembered for his kindness, his generosity, his creativity and the quiet ability to express his love for family, friends and the craft he adored. Family, friends, colleagues and his students all experienced the warmth and sincerity that made time spent with Mel meaningful. Throughout his life, Mel built lasting connections and touched many lives through simple acts of care, encouragement, and friendship. Conversations, shared moments, and everyday gestures created memories that will remain with those who had the privilege of knowing, working with and being instructed by Mel.
Family meant a great deal to Mel, and relationships were always nurtured with patience and devotion. Friends valued his loyalty and sincerity, while his colleagues appreciated his amazing creativity, dedication and his thoughtful approach to his long and successful career as an Art Director and teacher.
The passing of Mel leaves a space that cannot be filled. Yet the memories, lessons, and moments we all shared with Mel will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know and love him. He will be deeply missed.
