It is with unbearable heartbreak that we share the story of our beloved Megan - loving wife, mother of two, adored daughter, and one of seven siblings. Here's a glimpse into her incredible life and her courageous final fight.

Obituary

Megan’s story began in March of 1977, when she arrived as the fourth daughter to Pamela and Martin Masitto, fitting perfectly into the large, loud, loving Italian family. As the family grew to seven children, she became the true middle child among five sisters and one brother.
Driven, brilliant, and full of ambition, Megan earned her degree in finance and later her MBA, all while building a beautiful life with her husband, Dan, and their two children, Maddox and Nika.
In 2023, Megan began experiencing sharp, stabbing pain in her face. What followed was a long stretch of appointments, evaluations, and tests that eventually revealed a sizeable tumor in her brain, positioned directly behind her right eye. The diagnosis was a malignant and exceptionally rare form of cancer – so rare that only a single case had been documented, leaving little guidance on how to treat it. After extensive testing and procedures, including a craniotomy to determine a path forward, Megan stepped into the greatest fight of her life. And for Megan – who never hesitated to take on any challenge, any foe, any force – that says everything.
Over the course of 21 months, Megan powered through 63 radiation treatments, 15 rounds of chemo including 8 rounds of 3 types administered over a 7-month stint, 8 major surgeries including a spinal fusion and nerve reconstruction, and more scans, MRIs, injections, and appointments than one can count.
Throughout her life as well as through the final fight of her life, she was a force of nature. She could command a room simply by stepping into it, radiating power, beauty, and unmistakable style – always punctuated by her sky-high stilettos. Her determination could clear any path, overcome any blockade, and bend any circumstance to her will. She was defined by her love, her strength, her wit, her brilliance, her inspiration, her style, her selflessness, and her grit.
During her 48 years on earth, she fearlessly fought for love, for family, for success, for good, and for everyone in her life, including her family, friends, loved ones, and especially those who needed defended, encouraged, and empowered.
With fierce boldness she always focused on others. She was a powerful protector and tireless advocate and even while consumed by cancer, she refused to become its victim until it finally overtook her the night before Thanksgiving, on November 26, 2025.
Her story will forever be one of courage, brilliance, selflessness, and love. Her legacy will live on in everyone she strengthened, inspired, and fiercely protected. It will also live on through her “Baby Number One” Maddox, and “Best Baby” Nika – both “mini-Megs” (or not so mini).
From Dan, whose heart she held completely: “Her intelligence, beauty, kindness, and personality shone throughout her life – and burned brightest during the fight of her life.”

The Story of Megan's Urn

Inspired by Megan’s love of statement-making art, her Briar burls urn is a true work of art crafted from wood harvested up to 60 years ago in Portugal.

Left uncured to reveal its natural cracks and imperfections, the piece allowed the material itself to guide the artist, resulting in a truly one-of-a-kind form that honors its rare and authentic beauty.

Inlaid green minerals, gold from the renowned Norris brand, and a lid crowned with a sparkling, rare Dioptase crystal come together to create a meaningful tribute and one that celebrates a life deeply connected to the art of nature.
