I miss you. Let's pool!

Maxie Samantha Rose Sarah Solters

Maxie was a force of nature right from day one, and on that day, the world got so much brighter. She was pure light energy. If there was a song to be sung, she would be singing it. If there was something to be produced, she would be producing it. If there was a trip to be had - she was planning it. She soaked up every experience she could, and she encouraged those around her to do the same.

She was born and raised in Sherman Oaks California by her loving parents Deb and Larry. She pursued her passions for acting throughout her school years and eventually graduated from the University of Southern California with a BA in Theatre. Following graduation, she began a career in film and television casting while also serving as a coordinator for One Billion Rising, a nonprofit seeking to help end violence against women and others subject to gender-based violence. She produced many stagings of The Vagina Monologues throughout her USC days and for years after when she formed V-Day Studio City, raising money for many causes fighting against domestic violence and sexual abuse.

She appeared in numerous productions and even created, produced and starred in her own comedy web series.

In 2012, she became the third of her family’s generation to enter public relations, following her father, Larry, and late grandfather, Lee. She quickly became a well-known publicist. Her clients at the Scoop Marketing firm included the Kia Forum, the Hollywood Bowl, Music Forward and many others. Through her position in publicity, her acting, writing, and producing, she was well-known to the entertainment community,

Maxie loved activism, acting, producing, traveling and pool days. She loved being with the people she loved as much as possible.
You could always catch her going to the theater to see a show with her mom, Deb, or a Dodger game with her Dad, Larry. She loved beach days with her boyfriend, Dim, and her son, Pookie.

She lived big, and loved hard. She was strong. She was brave. She was always unabashedly, the Most Maxie.
She was the tiniest, biggest person, and the gaping hole she leaves in the hearts of all who loved her will be felt forever.

Shine on, somewhere out there, Maxie.

Maxie and I shared so many fun memories together. She was caring, kind, loyal, and fierce—wrapped up into a tiny dancer. I loved taking photos of you jumping. I remember how we talked about creating your coffee table book with all those photos of you jumping in different places—we were going to call it Maxie Jumps. Every time I think about it, I can’t stop smiling.

We spent so much time chatting, singing songs, and talking about life. Thank you for creating that safe space where I always felt included, loved, and cherished. Maxie adored her dog, cherished her family, and loved all her friends deeply. She had this incredible gift of bringing us all together and making each connection feel special.

Maxie, I love you. Thank you for your love, your light, and your generosity. You were the ultimate girls’ girl, and I’m so grateful you opened your heart to me. I miss you so much. Till we meet again. 💜

I don’t have one specific memory of Maxie, but she changed my life in many small ways that amount to something big. It all started when she and Ashley Steed cast me in Vagina Monologues in 2009. There was an immediate connection there, a friendship spark. I ended up performing in vagina monologues with Maxie at the helm for three years in a row, met other amazing women, gave back to charities I believe in, and had the chance to perform in front of large audiences. Maxie was a force to be reckoned with. If she wanted something, she’d get it. She was enthusiastic, energetic, passionate, strong, fearless, and fiercely loyal. It felt good to have her on your team. She ended up writing me a letter of recommendation for graduate school, and acted in several of my film projects once I was accepted. Socially, we co-hosted New Year’s Eve parties at her dad’s house, texted and dmed at odd hours of the night because we were often the only ones awake, and stayed close friends for 14 years. She consistently reached out, included me in big events and casual hang outs even though I often couldn’t come (she always made people feel included). She told me she loved me and missed me when it had been a while since we’d seen each other. She never forgot my birthday and she even wished me a Happy Mother’s Day for my first year as a mom, which meant a lot. Every holiday I could expect a silly bitmoji from her and she always made sure to inquire about my mom. She was just very thoughtful and kind. I’m going to miss her so much. I already do.

Maxie is at the heart of so many of my memories from USC. Two of my most cherished experiences only happened because of her. She arranged a trip in 2008 for VDay USC members to go to New Orleans for VDay10. She really encouraged me to come, and I am so glad she did. And then the next year, when she was in charge of VDay, she decided to reach out to Eve Ensler to let her know about our performance, and Eve came. Maxie was so bold and confident and caring and a great friend. I'm so glad to have had her in my life.

Maxie was the life of the party, the brightest light with the biggest heart. She was such a kind, amazing friend with so much generosity of spirit. When I was fresh out of college and feeling lost in LA, she took me under her wing and guided me like a big sister. I wish I could have a “wine FaceTime” with her now, or join her for another of her famous wine and pool hangs. Miss you and love you, Maxie.

What I’ll always remember about Maxie is the way she lived and loved to the fullest. I’ve never been the most open or trusting person, but Maxie instantly tore all those guards down and was like “girl i got you”. She loved, she cared, she was so full of light and joy. She was a safe space, a great friend, a superwoman. She was fierce and ambitious, yet the kindest and most open-hearted. She taught me so much about how to live life unapologetically and on my own damn terms. God she was so strong and so amazing. As painful as it is now, I’m so so so lucky and blessed to have been pull into her orbit. I love you Maxie.

I think my favorite memory of Maxie, or at least the memory that comes to mind most readily, is from my bachelorette party. It was Harry Potter themed because I’m a big dork. Maxie had never read the books, never watched the movies, had no idea what was going on, but she threw herself into the games and fun anyway. She was always down for anything, and she always gave her whole self.

One of my favorite times with Maxie was the Lizzo show at Acrisure. We all just wanted to sparkle, and dance, and sing at the top of our lungs, and we did. We got sequin jackets - her pink, mine purple, of course. We laughed so, so, much. We danced until our feet hurt.
