Maura Dawn Kimble

Obituary
Maura Dawn Kimble, 63, returned to our Lord on Thursday, May 14, 2026. She is survived by her beloved daughters, Rebecca Lynn Jackson (Rob) and Rachel Ann Kimble, who were her greatest pride and joy. Maura is also survived by her dear sister, Debra Lynn Dennis, and her stepbrothers, Timothy Brian Stevens (Marlene) and Michael Scott Stevens (Debbie), who will miss her greatly.
Maura leaves behind a legacy of patience, strength, and gentle kindness in the many lives she touched, including her family, friends, and students. She was an intelligent and vibrant woman who found beauty in all God's creations and inspired positivity in those around her through her faith, creative nature, and her desire to nurture and enrich the lives of others, in addition to her love of flowers, animals, and books.
Maura was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Neil Dennis and Shirley Ann (née Beasley) Stevens, as well as her stepfather, Billy Fletcher Stevens.
At her request, there will not be a physical service at this time. However, we would like to honor Maura through gifts of compassion and have selected a few charities that we feel reflect her passions and that she might be proud to support.

Things She Loved
Maura found beauty in even the smallest and simplest things; from random rocks to rusty old wagon wheels, everything had value and a story to tell. Her faith, family, and dogs came first in her life, but there were so many things she loved and had a passion for. We wanted to share just a few:
♡ Gemstones ♡ Dragons ♡ Floral Arranging ♡ Nature ♡ Classic Literature ♡ Painting ♡ Playing Piano ♡ Astronomy ♡ History ♡ Norse & Egyptian Mythology ♡ Owls & Elephants ♡ Nature & Wildlife ♡ Cooking & Trying new foods ♡ Classic Rock & Worship music ♡

Give in her Honor

Luna Centre
Maura dedicated herself to enriching the lives of children with patience and understanding, especially those who were at-risk youth and children with disabilities. She received her bachelor's degree in clinical psychology and had nearly completed her master's degree. Her hope had been to work with children of abuse to help them heal through methods such as music and art therapy. For this reason, we felt that the Luna Centre was a perfect organization to contribute to in her honor, as it provides assistance and resources to help victims of abuse find the help and safety they need.(Canadian)Y

Isaiah 117 House
In keeping with her passion for helping children, we have also chosen Isaiah 117 House. This organization helps to provide a safe and comforting environment for children to stay in while awaiting processing when they have been removed from unsafe situations.(American)

Friends of City of Henderson Animal Shelter
Maura loved animals of all shapes and sizes, especially her dogs. While working with Mentor Network in Tennessee, one of Maura's favorite places to take her work experience clients was to volunteer with her local shelter. She spoke fondly of the shelter and its staff, and as such, we would like to offer you the chance to give back to this wonderful small-town shelter that has proudly been euthanasia-free since 2012. Their donation link is set up to allow you to send them funds directly via PayPal or help buy some of their needs through Amazon.com.(American)

Bee and Butterfly Habitat Fund
Maura loved nature and one of her greatest passions was for flowers. Whether it be creating stunning floral arrangements, nurturing potted varieties, or simply appreciating them in the world around her, flowers always made her smile. As such, we would also like to support the Bee and Butterfly Habitat Fund, which endeavors to help North America's pollinators by partnering with landowners to plant wildflower habitats.(American)
