Obituary

With a heavy heart, we (Ben and Theresa, son and daughter) announce the passing of a beautiful son, brother, father, and grandfather named Mark Reeves, 78 of Moscow, Idaho who peacefully passed on July 15th, 2026. A lifelong Bureau of Land Management employee, Mark spent much of his life as a forester, and loved to be out in the woods anytime he was able.

Mark was born in Denver, CO on July 1, 1948 and grew up learning music. In his teens, he played the accordion and almost went to college for it. In fact, he was so good with the accordion that when his family would go camping, he would play in the campground for all the campers and would end with a round of applause. However, Mark would go on to pursue his passion, forestry.

Then he had two beautiful children which he cared for more than life itself. He taught my brother and I about the forest and took us on walks nearly every weekend. At our home in Coos Bay, OR he started a farm and had cows, ducks, chickens, goats, sheep, dogs, cats, rabbits, and the occasional dear. After more than 40 years of working with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), he retired and continued to travel with his wife, Sandy.

In lieu for a physical service, I have created this memorial page so everyone who knew him can leave a story about him. If you have them, more pictures would be amazing to post here too. Also feel welcome to exchange emails if you’d like to contact each other. 
Dad loved to gather together and talk. In his later years, when talking was more difficult, he still loved to sit with us and listen to the conversation. In all, if you have issues posting, email your content to me (theresalavoie34@gmail.com) and I will post it for you. 

As always, prayers are welcome. He was a believer in Christ Jesus and I know he is now with God and I will see him again.
