Mark dedicated more than 17 years to establishing and strengthening programs to advance care and support for people with bleeding disorders around the world with the World Federation of Hemophilia. His work provided critical data and tools that have informed policy, strengthened procurement practices, supported advocacy efforts, and improved access to treatment worldwide. I am so sorry to hear of Mark's passing. He was invaluable when I was easing into my role of WFH CPSSAC chair. His knowledge and institutional memory were off the charts. I enjoyed working with him and appreciated his wit and sense of humor. My deepest condolences to Mark's loved ones.

I am sending my deepest condolences to all who loved Mark. I am so very sorry and sad to hear of his sudden passing. My first year of getting actively involved with WFH was in Melbourne, Australia for Congress in 2014 - Mark was very kind, a little sassy and VERY funny... sarcastic funny - my kind of humor. He made me feel invited and welcomed and part of the crew. I could see how he got on with his colleagues and members of the global community. What a treasure. He will be greatly missed.

So sorry to hear of Mark's death. I have great memories of working with him over many years. This photo is of Mark holding the first vial of factor VIII made for humanitarian aid from Canadian recovered plasma. Mark was instrumental over more than a decade in bringing Project Recovery to fruition.

I always called him Brooker. In my first job, I felt so out of place, and he took care of me. He guided me, he protected me, he showed me how to talk to people, and loosen up. He loved life, loved good food, and he loved people. He spoke so often about his brother and his grandmother, and they were close to his heart. I’ve thought about him over the years, and what mischief he’s been up to. I will always remember him.
