Rest in peace Mrs Walsleben. Thanks for being one of the nicest parents I knew when I was 16. I remember a game night with you and Jenny at your house on, gosh, was it ScenicPark or Rustic
Park? Fun night. Jenny tells me you maintained that demeanor thoroughout your life. You raised a couple of great kids in Jen and Paul. May God bless you on your new journey.

My colleague, boss and friend at UCLA Extension’s American Language Center, Marjorie will always have a special place in my heart. I have fond memories of working alongside her for many years, always admiring her humanity, sense of humor, and her dedication to the teaching profession, especially to international education. She was a role model and a compassionate mentor to those of us novice teachers who will always consider ourselves lucky to have had her in our lives. May her memory be a blessing.
Ps: The photo was taken with our ALC colleagues at my 50th birthday party in 2000.

Marjorie's entire life was spent in the company of her devoted dogs, whom she loved with all her heart, starting with her childhood terrier, Foxtrot. Our first family dog was Cinnamon, to be followed by Dogie and Pumpkin. Maggie Peabody became her first "indoor" dog, and ushered in the years of the pampered pooches, who were given so much love and care: first Buffy, a golden cocker spaniel, and finally, Angel, a curly, toasty-marshmallow-white, chubby little terrier. All our dogs were either strays or shelter rescues. After Buffy passed away, Mom needed another "baby" to look after. She went to the Lange Foundation, a non-profit animal rescue in Los Angeles. And right there at the front desk was Angel, the "office dog," considered non-adoptable due to her mature age and her people-wary personality. Mom instantly knew: She's the one for me.  Angel blossomed under Mom's attention, and truly became Mom's little angel, her trusty companion through the years and especially during the isolation of Covid lockdowns. The Lange Foundation's mission was very dear to Mom's heart: to rehome animals and enable them to continue to love and be loved.
