Obituary
Marie Belle Frye (née Goble), a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on July 11, 1956, in Gulnare, Kentucky, Marie spent the majority of her life in Lorain County, Ohio, where she built a loving home and a strong community of friends.
Marie was a devoted mother to Richard of Lorain, Ohio, Robert (Laura) of Lorain, Ohio, Robin of Elyria, Ohio and Vernon of Akron, Ohio, as well as a loving stepmother to Terry (Bob) of Kerrville, Texas, and Susan (Bob) of McAlester, Oklahoma. She also embraced Robin Detamore, a cherished neighbor and friend, as part of her family. Her legacy also lives on through her cherished grandchildren: Addasyn of Avon Lake, Ohio, Jax of Elyria, Ohio, Samantha (Jacob), Amy (Michael), and Cole, all of Indiana, as well as her three great-grandchildren. Marie was a loving sister to Alfred Jr. of Norwalk, Ohio, Charles of Lorain, Ohio, Donna of Ashland, Ohio, Albert of New London, Ohio and Dewey of Kentucky. She was a cherished aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Evelyn and Alfred; her brother, Daniel; her late husband, Vernon; and her long-time partner, Jerry.
For many years, Marie worked at Invacare in Elyria, Ohio, where she formed lasting friendships with her cherished "Invacare girls." She later brought her caring spirit to TLC Home Health in Sheffield, Ohio. Outside of her professional life, Marie found solace and joy in her garden. She was a skilled gardener, and her passion for "playing in her garden" was a testament to her love for nature and her nurturing spirit. Marie was known for her strength, generosity, and selfless nature.
She touched the lives of all who knew her with her warm heart and unwavering kindness.
A Celebration of Marie’s Life will be held at Lake Avenue Baptist Church on April 12, 2025, at 2:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Young of Liberty Baptist Church.
