Margie Gamez, a devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and beloved great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2025, just shy of her 83rd birthday. Born on October 17, 1942, Margie was a longtime resident of Austin, Texas, where she lived a life full of love, compassion, and service.
Margie's life was a testament to kindness and generosity. Her home was always open to family, friends, and neighbors who needed a listening ear or a warm hug. Known for her unwavering support and understanding nature, she touched the lives of many, teaching those around her the values of acceptance and forgiveness.
A dedicated matriarch, Margie was the proud mother of five children, all of whom she raised with the same love and care that she extended to everyone she met. Her family continued to grow, bringing her immense joy, as she became the grandmother of 14 grandchildren and the great-grandmother of 16 great-grandchildren. Margie delighted in family gatherings where her loving spirit brought people together, creating an atmosphere of warmth and joy. She was especially excited when all five of her children were together with her.
Outside her family, Margie was a faithful member of the Cornerstone Church of San Antonio, Texas. Her service of remembrance will be held at 1 PM on November 2, 2025 at Sunrise Community Church in Austin, Texas.
In her passing, Margie leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will live in the hearts of all who knew her. Her life is a reminder that kindness, generosity, and a forgiving spirit can change the world, one person at a time.
