Obituary

Margaret Helen “Marge” Pearson, a deeply beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2026, in Cary, North Carolina, at the age of 76. Born on November 21, 1949, in Long Island, New York, Marge was the cherished daughter of Carmine and Helen Coiro. She spent her early years between New York and Florida before marrying her beloved husband, Phillip, in 1971. Together, they built a beautiful life in Pearl River, New York, that was centered around family and community.

A devoted caretaker by occupation, Marge dedicated her life to caring for others. She found immense joy in making people feel loved and supported. Marge was devoted to her family and was known for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love. She had a warm heart and a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome. Whether she was spending time with family, sharing a meal, offering advice, or lending a helpful hand, Marge brought comfort, laughter, and joy to those around her. Her compassion and selflessness left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She is lovingly survived by her children: Philip and his wife, Tracy; Heather and her husband, Brian; and Chad and his wife, Taryn. She was a proud and adoring grandmother to Gavin, Lila, Avery, Emma, Teagan, and Delaney, who brought her endless joy. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Phil; her parents, Carmine and Helen Coiro; her brothers, Nicholas and Carmine; and her sister, Jane. Marge will be remembered for her warm heart, quiet strength, and unwavering love. The love she gave so freely will live on in the countless memories she created and in the hearts of all who knew her.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 27, at 10:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Pearl River, New York, followed by a burial at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Nanuet, New York. A celebration of her life will follow at the Irish Center in Blauvelt, NY.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort in knowing that Marge’s love will remain with us always. Her legacy of compassion, strength, and devotion to family will never be forgotten. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
