Marc Miller

Marc was one of the first faces I met when I joined VEI. He's been one of best forces for good in this company over the past decade-plus. Kind, dependable and thoughtful, he lifted everyone around him. He will be missed.

Marc was such a welcoming soul. I can't recall ever walking into a room he was in and him not greeting me with a smile that made me feel that he was genuinely glad I had joined. It's rare for a leader to be able to instantly set aside the myriad of duties they are dealing with and make you feel as important as anything else going on. Marc did not just do this, he lived this. It didn't matter who you were, he made you feel appreciated and deserving of his time which is a precious gift.

Marc was the kind of leader who made it easy to come to work. His easy-going nature, genuine warmth, and love for connecting with people made the day easy. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome, heard, and respected.

Marc loved his family, speaking of them often with pride. His passion for baseball was contagious, and he always found a way to share stories about his history with the game and about Jake. Marc had a heart for others, he believed in fairness, in lifting people up, and in helping whenever he could.

He led with kindness, treated everyone with dignity, and created a space where people felt supported and heard. Marc's legacy will live on in the way he made us feel and the values he stood for.

Thank you for your guidance, support and mentorship Marc, you will be missed!

From the moment I joined VEI, Marc made me feel truly welcome. His warmth and genuine kindness stood out immediately. He had a remarkable way of making people feel seen, and he was an exceptional listener. His smile was infectious, and it was nearly impossible to be in a bad mood when Marc was in the room.

We quickly discovered our shared love of baseball, and it became a frequent topic of our conversations. Marc’s face would light up during those chats, especially when he spoke about his son.

He will be deeply missed, but his legacy lives on through his son, and in the hearts of all those he mentored and inspired, especially at VEI.

Marc was always a kind and reliable force at VEI. His ability and willingness to both listen to and understand issues was unparalleled. He will be greatly missed.

Having worked in many different jobs and roles under less-than-ideal leadership, encountering Marc Miller when I first started my career at VEI was truly a breath of fresh air. From the very beginning, he made me feel genuinely heard and valued- not just as an employee, but as a person. He had a way of doing that with everyone. I’m incredibly grateful for his unwavering support, his guidance, and the mentorship he provided. Most of all, I appreciate his steadfast belief in us- it made all the difference. His absence will be deeply felt among those of us who were lucky enough to know him. May we all be inspired to live with the same grace, kindness, and integrity that he demonstrated each day.

Marc had such a rare gift for making people feel at ease. His humor and down-to-earth nature made conversations easy, and you always felt like his door was open, whether you needed to bounce around an idea or talk through a challenge.

He led with both wisdom and kindness, creating space where people felt supported and valued. What stood out most was how proud he was of his family. Pointing out Vicki’s paintings that hung in his office and lighting up whenever he talked about his son’s baseball career and accomplishments.

I feel so lucky to have gotten to know him over the years. Marc will be remembered not only as a leader and mentor, but also as a friend who gave generously of his time and heart. His legacy is one of openness, compassion, and genuine care and he will be deeply, deeply missed.

I had the privilege of working with Marc from the time I joined VEI. What stood out most about Marc was the way he valued people. He never lost sight of the fact that relationships — with colleagues, friends, and family — are what truly matters. He would take the time to listen and build connections that made a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. I especially enjoyed hearing stories about baseball as he beamed with pride as his spoke of his son.

Although I only had the privilege of knowing Marc roughly a year and a half, it was immediately clear what a compassionate, caring, and genuine person he was. His warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone around him, and he consistently led by example—with integrity, empathy, and strength. As a leader in this company, he not only guided with wisdom but truly cared for the people he worked with. I will miss his chats, his presence will be deeply missed, and his legacy will continue to inspire all of us.

Marc was that rare person who could make you feel you knew him as a friend even when you first met. As I came aboard VEI in April of 2024, he was the first to congratulate me and welcome me into the VEI family. Our common interests in college baseball, classic cars, travel, and family made our non-work conversations most pleasant. Also, Marc's dry sense of humor and love of life made it a pleasure to be around him. On many occasions around me, his face would brighten when he talked about his son Jake, and how proud he was of his baseball exploits and how well he was doing in his studies. Without a doubt, Marc's legacy is secure in the knowledge that Jake will make his father proud by following in his dad's footsteps.

Hellen Keller once said, "what we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes part of us"

I hope his extended family takes comfort in this, knowing that Marc's soul will forever be affectionately remembered as being kind and devoted to those he loved.

Where to begin. Marc had such a warm presence about him. You could just walk into his office and plop down on a chair to talk whether it be about business, family, or anything else on your mind that day. I was just starting my HR career when I had the privilege of working with Marc. He was a mentor. He would be the one to believe in you, even when you didn’t believe in yourself. I know there are so many people whose lives he touched in one way or another. I am praying for his wife and son. He was a family man and you could see how proud he was every time he talked about his family. He loved being present in his son’s life and at his games. He will be missed by many.

Marc's presence will greatly be missed! Marc was a humble man and walked with a peaceful presence that calmed the room every time he entered! Whenever Marc came over for his weekly meetings at the ASC, he always took the time to speak, ask me how I was doing, my family, plans, etc. He listened! He cared! I mattered!!!
My sincere condolences to his family!

Marc wasn’t just a colleague—he was a true friend. We often talked about walking into the next chapter of our lives at the same time. We shared stories, laughter, and endless teasing, and through it all, his kindness and care were unwavering. He was a genuinely remarkable person in every way. The world feels a little emptier without him, and he will be missed more than words can say.

While I did not have many interactions with Marc, every interaction was filled with kindness and he was a joy to be around. I first met Marc when I interviewed for the Prince George Audiologist position and he helped calm my nerves with small talk. I don't know if I ever saw him without a smile on his face. He was an integral part of the VEI family and he will be truly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.

We lost more than a co-worker or "boss" -we lost a true north. Marc led with heart, humor, humility, and humanity. Marc's ability to make people feel seen, heard, and valued was unparalleled.

His compassion and laughter never failed to lift my spirits and his belief in me, made me better in my role with VEI and in my personal life. I will forever miss our weekly "meetings". Although, we discussed VEI / ASC business, we also used the time to catch up on life events, the good stuff, and the not so good stuff. I valued his input both professionally and personally.

Simply stated, Marc was one of the good ones. Marc’s legacy lives on in the way we lead, listen, and lift each other up. May we carry forward the kindness he so effortlessly gave. He will be deeply missed.

It’s hard to put into words what Marc meant to me. He was a man of integrity and sharp insight, but more than that, he led with kindness. He had this way of making people feel seen and supported—always listening, always encouraging, always leading by example.

When I was considering joining VEI and relaunching the hearing center, I was hesitant. But Marc believed in me before I believed in myself. I still remember thinking; Marc is one of the kindest people I’ve ever met—and how incredible it would be to work for someone like him. Marc is the reason I came to VEI. His encouragement gave me the courage to take that leap, and it turned into one of the most meaningful decisions of my life.

Marc started out as a mentor, but he quickly became so much more. He was an advisor, a confidant, and a true friend. He didn’t just hold a leadership title—he lived it. He inspired through his actions, his wisdom, and his generosity. He set a standard for compassion and integrity that I will carry with me always.

His legacy isn’t just professional excellence—it’s humanity, kindness, and the belief that people matter most. I’ll always be grateful for his guidance, for the way he believed in me, and most of all, for his friendship. His loss is deeply felt, but his impact will stay with me forever.

Marc was such a down to earth and all around fun guy!! I really got to see Marc's fun and outgoing personality at Dr. McGehee's retirement party. He brought lots of light into VEI and all of us around him. I will continue to pray for Marc and his loved ones. He will be deeply missed and will always hold a special place in all of our hearts here at VEI!

I will always remember Marc as an influential Manager and mentor in my career. He truly did care about "people first," whether it be a patient or fellow VEI teammate. I will miss Marc's positive presence greatly. This is a heartbreaking loss for all of us who knew Marc, and his loved ones are in my thoughts and prayers.
