Manley Wisdom, Snr.

Death is not extinguishing the light; it is putting out the lamp because dawn has come.

Obituary

In the tender embrace of celestial serenity, Manley Wisdom, Sr., gracefully yielded to the divine call of his Lord and Maker on March 4, 2024. His earthly journey, adorned with seventy-four years of love, kindness, and unwavering devotion, drew to a close, leaving behind a tapestry of cherished memories and an enduring legacy that shall forever grace the annals of time.

As the cherished cornerstone of his family, Manley was the epitome of devotion and love, a beacon of strength and tenderness for his beloved Anna, his cherished children, Manley Jr. and Kerry, daughter-in-law Nadine, and the radiant stars of his lineage, Manley III, Jaime, and Christian. He was also a loving brother, cousin, uncle, colleague and friend to many.

Beyond the confines of kinship, Manley's benevolent spirit extended its luminous reach, touching the lives of all fortunate enough to cross his path. A paragon of compassion and empathy, he embraced the trials of others with open arms, offering solace and support with an unwavering grace. Manley was selfless and kind, weaving joy and comfort into the lives of those in need.

Amidst the bustling corridors of service, Manley's dedication shone brightest, particularly within the realm of culinary craft, where his passion for nourishing both body and soul found its fullest expression. With hands that toiled tirelessly and a heart overflowing with generosity, he filled each meal with a sprinkle of love, enriching not only the palate but also the spirit of those he served. If you knew Manley well, we are almost certain that at some point, he blessed you with a meal!

A steadfast servant of the Most High, Manley's presence exuded a radiant joy - an unbridled joy that only a personal relationship with Jesus Christ could provide.

As we gather to bid farewell to this beloved soul, let us not mourn the departure of his earthly vessel, but rather rejoice in the legacy he leaves behind. Let us celebrate the life of a man whose spirit danced among the stars, whose love knew no bounds, and whose memory shall forever be etched upon the canvas of our hearts.

We shall gather at Kingdom Builders Ministries in Miami, Florida, on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 11:00am, to honor his life and legacy, and the indelible imprint he has left upon our souls. May his spirit soar on the wings of angels, and may light perpetual shine upon him.

To the family of Manley Wisdom We have known Bro. Wisdom for a long time and he was esteemed highly among the brethren. The Bible speaks affirmatively concerning God's saints whether in life or death that nothing can separate us from God ( John 11:25-26, Romans 8:38-39). Therefore let God's comfort and all the comfort of the saints be yours.

Tribute to the late deacon Manley Wisdom. I became acquainted with then Bro Wisdom during the early years of the 1970s. We both worshipped at the Clifton NT church of God, St. Andrew. He was a devoted member of the church and served faithfully. He was of a quiet disposition and very kind hearted. A truly family oriented brother who paid much attention, care, protection and security of his dear wife and family.
Myself, wife, Dr Elaine Brown-Cameron and family, mourn with the family at the passing of a great servant of the Lord, husband and father.
May his soul rest eternally at peace in the arms of his savior and Lord.

My beloved brother, Manley Wisdom Snr.

Even though death is an appointment for everyone, when it comes, it still stings and rocks the world of those who are left behind. Especially when death takes away from you someone who you love and respect. The news of your death, brother has certainly rocked my world! No more will I see your radiant smile or hear your playful chuckle as you encourage me and give your insightful brotherly advice. These were some of the qualities that were unique to you, and only you! You were a kind and loving brother who loved to worship God and served others. I certainly will miss you, but earth’s loss is heaven’s gain! So, I say so long my brother, we will meet again!

It's generally understood that the only certain thing about life is DEATH . When death comes in whatever shape or form, it bring untold grief pain sadness suffering of untold proportions. Manley's death is unfortunately another that elicit those emotions. My brother in law in his earthly life was the epitome of the consumate family man who took care of his lovely wife Anna and his children Manley11 and KerryAnn and by extension grand children .
Manley was a good man to have in your corner. The worst thing about death is that u never get over it no matter the length of time. My prayer is that GOD will avail his strength and peace to those most affected in this most difficultt time.

When we got news of his illness we prayed and trusted God for his healing. When we got that news we were and still are devastated and troubled on many fronts.
Bro Manley was an awesome husband to our Sis Anna. He loved and cared for her with all his heart . She and her two children and three grandchildren must be grieving beyond recognition.
Our concern is for Sis Anna who was glued to him.
We offer our condolences to our dear Sis Anna, Manley Jr, Kerry-Ann Manley 111, Jaime and Christian.

Missing Our Brother Manley

Although you are not here in body, your spirit is right here with us. When Dad passed, you were right there, making sure the family stayed together. All our siblings have their own stories about your caring heart, infectious smile, and the extraordinary Man of God you were… my hero. Whenever you ended a sentence, you would always say, “Blessing, sister; God is good.”

Your love is eternal, the impact you made on our lives was extraordinary. Your life was a testimony to the incredible human being you were.

This song ‘In Shady Green Pastures’ is comforting for you, brother Manley:

In shady green pastures
So rich and so sweet
God led His dear children along
Some through the waters
Some through the flood
Some through the fire
But all through the blood
Some through great sorrow
But God gives a song
The night season and all the day long

The gate of memories will never close. We miss you, Brother Manley. Rest in Jesus arms 🙏🏾.

Gone but not forgotten.

My brother Manley has committed his life to the Lord at an early age. He was a genuine, loving brother and friend. He was a dedicated Christian and one who served the church well. He was a family man, an excellent cook, an encourager, and a counselor to many. These are just a few indelible marks left by my brother.

I will draw strength from the wonderful, credible, and exemplary life lived. Your persistent support and kindness shown will never be forgotten. The selfless and undying love for your family and others will live forever.

You have fought a good fight, and you have kept the faith; you will be greeted by your Saviour with the words "well done." Rest in peace, big brother. You will be forever in my heart.

I am truly sorry for the loss of your dear husband, Mr. Wisdom Sr.

The memory of Mr. Wisdom Sr.’s impactful and appreciative opening prayer during our last meeting through the online prayer and fasting service still echoes in my mind.

I cannot imagine the void that is left in your lives at the passing of such dedicated father & grandpa, loving husband, kind uncle, brother, and dutiful deacon.

May God give you all the consolation which is beyond all earthly power. As he takes his well-deserved rest, may his soul find peace in the embrace of his Savior.

Jesus said, "In this world you will have trouble. But take heart, l have overcome the world." John 16: 33. We also know that; "The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble and He cares for those who trust in Him" Nahum 1:7.

We have not stopped praying
for you and asking God to fill you with the continued
knowledge of His will
because we know that God is too good to be unkind. We also cannot trace His hand so we must trust His heart.

I will miss my dear brother, Manley, very much. We had a good time growing up as brothers. He was always looking out for others, and always cooking and sharing with family and friends. He loved God and was a great witness. He's now resting with his maker.
—Milton Wisdom (brother)

My brother in-law, Manley was a very special person. He gave me some wise marriage tips that I will always cherish.
He was a great family man who loved his family, and the way in which he lived his life was an example to us all. Manly had a great sense of humor and could always make you laugh. I will miss my brother in-law dearly, but he's now in a place of perfect rest in the presence of the Lord!
—Altheia Wisdom (lady Susie)🙏🏾💞

My memories of Uncle Manly are happy and full of light. Visiting him & my Florida family was always exciting and fun—he had an amazing sense of humor and knew how to make us kids laugh and feel at ease. When I was visiting colleges in FL, Uncle encouraged me and was always clapping for me each step of the way in my education. Each family trip was not complete until we attended service together at his church, and he always made sure God was at the center of every move he made. Saying that I miss him is an understatement. Rest in power Uncle!

My condolences, prayers and my heart is with you as you go through this challenging time.

Bro Manley Wisdom was a true child of the living God, an hard working dedicated officer of the church. He was attentive to the Lord's work in the winning of souls, his support to the ministry was invaluable because he was always willing to do above and beyond call and duty.

A man gifted with extraordinary culinary skills, he was loving and caring, and took care of the elderly, he was always ready to help in any area and he was very interested in people and the furtherance of kingdom building.

Bro Wisdom was a true example of a child of God, may his life and legacy live on in his children and his soul rest in peace.

I have fond memories of a kind and gentle soul who loved the Lord and was versed in the 'culinary department' a servant of the Most High God who loved him. To be absent from this life is to be in another realm, an eternal one of glory and beauty that places us in immediate presence of God.
Godspeed and may light perpetually shine on you.

I struggle to find the words to sincerely express my deepest sympathies to Sis Anna and the entire Wisdom family. Bro Manley was like a second father to me as a young boy growing up in church. He had an infectious smile and countenance that brings warmth to your heart. It is a testament and a good thing when children can remember the impact an adult had on their lives; Bro Manley was such a person to me. I remembered when he migrated to the United States how missed his presence was to me. The wisdom family has been a tremendous blessing to the Hutchinson family and that blessing is unforgettable. I pray that God, our Heavenly Father would comfort your hearts, give you His peace, surround you with His love, and strengthen you by His grace during this season of mourning. Rest assured that the hope of Christ’ resurrection will bring us all together as a great family in His kingdom. Rest well Sir Manley Wisdom, see you later.

What can I say Brother Manly was indeed a special person an icon to his family I came to know him through my Reverend Manly wisdom his son and
did not know him intimately as many others but as I draw closer to my pastor I could see that his father made an individual mark on him
and therefore who he was is a direct reflection of his father's input and that tells me that, that man was something special I know that he has left
us but he has left with us more of him than we could imagine I do share my condolence with his family and I pray that we would all strive to see him one
day to help us keep our eyes on the prize of the utmost calling in Jesus Christ, God bless the wisdom family I pray the comfort and the peace of God be

His love of family was truly remarkable. So many beautiful memories of the journey of life tell the story of greatness, blessing and service. The most gracious and generous host, his kindness has touched many generations.

Solution oriented and wise; the wisdom talks remain impactful. "Know God for yourself", words which have resonated throughout the years. Sir Wisdom, father-in-law, nuff respect!

My deepest condolences to the Wisdom family. Pops will be greatly missed.
I remember when he came to GA when Tony and I were newly weds and he took over the kitchen cooking up a storm as if to say let me show these young buds how this is really done lol, he just really loved cooking (Best Jerk Chicken and Curry Goat ever🥰).
All the jokes we had over the phone, when I would call to check in. Him sending me sugar cane and mangoes and other produce from his garden. Ghosh so many memories. Pops you’ll truly be missed. R.I.P.

My sincere condolences to the Wisdom Family. I met Mr Wisdom many years ago when I was visiting family in Miami. From that first meeting he embraced me as a daughter. He was always ready to feed me and cook the most delicious and exquisite meals. His fatherly care was shown in the conversation he had with my husband prior to marriage. My husband still remembers the 3 B’s he told him about. We are sad to hear about his passing but we will cherish the fond memories and live with the hope of seeing him on resurrection morning when Jesus comes. Stay strong and find hope and comfort in Jesus: Mrs Wisdom, Kerry-Ann & Manley and family. You are all in our prayers.

I only ever heard one story that told of this man’s faithfulness to his family and that was enough for me to respect him. I share in the joy that you are closer to glory but I would be pretentious if I didn’t share in the sadness of the now. Love you wisdom family and we continue to pray with you.

After all this life is over and his labour here has ended, but he also has fought a good fight and more importantly has kept the faith to his very end. After all uncle Manley rest in peace. Sister Gwen's memories are most joyous as she expressed her sympathy in the words "May his soul rest in peace, he fed me well."

Please accept condolences from the Ewan and Messam families. Mr. Wisdom was gentle soul with a kind heart. He was one of the best chefs and hosts. Many of my vacations included a stop-over at his house and he was always warm and welcoming. May his soul rest in peace and light perpetual shine on him.
