A Life of Love, Kindness, and Faith
In Loving Memory of Lydia Torres Serna
Lydia Torres Serna was called home to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 27, 2026. Lydia was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and dear friend to many. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, generous heart, and the kindness she shared so freely with those around her. Throughout her life, Lydia dedicated many years to caring for others through her work as a medication nurse before retiring. Her caring nature extended far beyond her profession. She had a special way of making people feel welcomed, loved, and appreciated. Lydia enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, especially bowling spending time with friends, sharing laughter, and making memories with those she loved. There was nothing quite like a good cup of coffee, a smoke, and a good true crime story to keep her entertained. One of Lydia’s most special ways of showing love was through her crocheting. She was always working on something. If you stopped by to visit, chances were she would tell you to go look through her bin and pick out one of her latest creations. Whether it was a quilt, a beanie, a towel, or a scarf, she always had something ready to give. Itwas never just about what she made, but the love she put into every piece. So many of her family members have something handmade by Lydia, a little piece of her love that they can hold onto forever. These were the little things that made Lydia so special. Her generosity, her sense of humor, and her thoughtful ways will live on through the memories she created and the many lives she touched. Each person who knew Lydia carries their own special memories of her, and together, those memories tell the story of a woman whose love and kindness reached so many.

A Life Forever Remembered
Although her earthly journey has come to an end, Lydia’s memory will continue through the many generations of her family and the countless lives she touched. Families grow, change, and follow different paths throughout life, but the memories we carry of those we love remain a part of us forever. Today, we choose to remember Lydia for the joy she brought, the love she shared, and the beautiful moments that made her life so special.
Celebration of Life
In accordance with Lydia’s personal wishes, there will be no traditional funeral service. Instead, her family will honor her request for a small, simple, and intimate graveside ceremony next to her parents. Lydia wished to be remembered with love, surrounded by prayers and cherished memories, rather than with a large or elaborate gathering. We ask that everyone respect her wishes as we come together to celebrate her life and her homegoing to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Family and friends are welcome to join us for this simple and meaningful farewell as we honor Lydia in the way she wished to be
