Uncle Lyden.
You may have been father to 3 sons, but unofficially (possibly unintended), you were godfather to so many more, and Aunt Susan, godmother. You hold much responsibility for the men we all turned out to be. You played sports with us, fished with us, laughed, cursed at us (deservedly so- we were terrible).
And so today, please have no worry, because of your support, we are now able to stand and support YOUR 3 boys. We all miss you.

To Family of Lyden, my sincere condolences as you have experienced a great loss and so has Grenada and parts beyond....

I met Lyden some 20 years ago in the course of doing some consulting work with him however we developed more than a business relationship during this time. Lyden was a man of integrity, honor and he loved Grenada. As they say in the Caribbean...Lyden was really really "good people". and his presence will be dearly missed ....R.I.P. my brother!!!....See you when we get there...

Lyden’s life was a testament to service, leadership, and innovation. From his early days as the youngest President of the Chamber of Commerce, to his time as a Cabinet Minister, and later as Chairman of both the Grenada Board of Tourism and the Grenada Airports Authority, he shaped policy and progress with quiet strength and a forward-thinking vision.

In the tourism sector, Lyden was a true pioneer. He championed a shift from the traditional statutory presence in key markets to engaging professional marketing and PR firms, ensuring Grenada’s tourism brand could compete more effectively on the global stage. His influence went beyond titles—leaders across the political divide often sought his wisdom, knowing his counsel was rooted in a deep love for country.
His generosity and commitment to community were just as profound. Following the devastation of Hurricane Beryl, Lyden played a key role in securing a large monetary donation from Ganzee to support Rotary-led relief efforts in Carriacou. He never hesitated to lend his influence for the greater good.
I had the privilege of working alongside Lyden in the tourism sector, where we each had the opportunity to serve as Chairman at different times. Through it all, his dedication, integrity, and kindness remained his defining qualities.
Grenada has lost one of its finest sons, but his impact will be felt for generations.

My deepest condolences to his family, loved ones, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Rest in peace, Lyden. Your legacy endures.

I have known "Uncle Lyden" since I was 5 years old, he would babysit my sister and I. I fondly remember trips with him to Randhanny's for toys in Grenville and picking mangoes on the estate in the hot sun. He was always kind, gentle and patient.

In my 20's, we worked in hospitality, and he coached me in the industry. In my 30's/40's, his grandkids were like my kids and our discussions evolved to that of parenting where topics of conversation included boating trips, school pickups, teens, drinking, driving and party pickups. 100 times, he said, "Please drop the Uncle title " 😃. His character remained steadfast, kind, gentle, caring, supportive, and thoughtful. His friendships transcended generations within the community.

RIP "Uncle Lyden" a life well lived and loved .. Uncle - a title of respect and well deserved.

There are some people whose presence in our lives changes us forever. My dear friend Lyden was one of those rare souls—someone whose character, kindness, and strength made the world around him better. He was everything I aspire to be, yet somehow, he carried those qualities with an ease that I have never managed to grasp.

He was patient when I was restless, wise when I was uncertain, and kind when I faltered. He had a way of lifting others, not with grand gestures but with the quiet, steady support of someone who truly cared. He never sought recognition for his goodness; he simply was good.

What I admired most was his unwavering integrity. He did what was right, even when it was difficult. He faced challenges with grace, never letting hardship diminish his warmth. Where I have struggled, he excelled—not because life was easier for him, but because he carried himself with a strength I could only hope to emulate.

It is hard to accept that he is gone. The world feels dimmer without him, and the absence he leaves is immeasurable. But if there is any comfort to be found, it is in knowing that his impact will never fade. The lessons he taught me, the example he set—those remain. I can only hope to carry forward even a fraction of what he so effortlessly embodied.

My friend, you were the best of us. And though you are no longer here, you will never be forgotten.

He was indeed a true patriot in 2012 he saved Grenada from the imposition of visa sanction from the British after they requested that in one month the department should a secure interview room but due to financial constraints at the time it was impossible
I contacted comrade lyden who came to the rescue by furnishing both labour and materials for the construction of that room within the passport office free of cost thus saving the citizens with a visa millstone around our necks
Long live his spirit

Lyden Ramdhanny’s passing is a profound loss not only for his family and friends, but also for the nation of Grenada. Between 1979 and 1983, Lyden made an immense contribution to his country as a young Minister in the People’s Revolutionary Government. He continued to serve his country with honor and dedication after the collapse of the Grenada revolution and, indeed, to the very end of his life. He loved Grenada with every fiber of his being.
Hand in hand with Lyden’s sound business acumen were the values and principles by which he lived his life. He was a man of unquestionable loyalty and integrity; a man who quietly but fearlessly stood true to his beliefs and principles regardless of the challenges he faced.
In so many situations, Lyden demonstrated boundless generosity. He gave so much to so many and expected nothing in return. Every single day of his life, he LIVED his belief that the more fortunate had an obligation to help the less fortunate. When Carriacou and Petite Martinique were ravaged by hurricane Beryl last year, he poured all his energies into fundraising efforts to help our sister islands. In the midst of his hurricane-relief efforts, I reminded him that he needed to slow down a bit and focus on his health. His simple response was “I am too busy right now to be sick.”
My dear friend Lyden, you have been a tremendous source of inspiration to me and to many others. While we deeply mourn your loss, we celebrate the rich legacy you have left us, the purpose-driven life you led, and your inexhaustible wellspring of courage, kindness, and selflessness.
May God, in his infinite mercy, console all who grieve and grant you, a true Grenadian patriot, eternal rest.

A Tribute to Lyden Ramdhanny
We honor the life and legacy of a remarkable man—Lyden Ramdhanny. A man whose life was defined by service, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to his beloved Grenada.

Lyden Ramdhanny was more than just a businessman; he was a visionary entrepreneur who led with integrity and purpose. An astute businessman, he not only built enterprises with his family but also created opportunities, leaving a lasting impact on the economic landscape of Grenada. His leadership extended beyond business; he served with distinction as President of the Grenada Chamber of Industry and Commerce, from 1975 to 1977, ensuring that the organization thrived under his guidance.

But Lyden was not just a leader in boardrooms—he was a statesman whose love for country knew no bounds. His contributions to Grenada were marked by a deep sense of duty, as he willingly stepped up to serve in any capacity needed, regardless of the government in power. His country always came first. His invaluable service to the People's Revolutionary Government and his representation of Grenada on regional and international bodies solidified his reputation as a man of wisdom, principle, and diplomacy.

Despite his achievements, Lyden remained humble, peaceful, and soft-spoken. Yet, when he spoke, his words carried weight. He was always accessible, always willing to share his experiences, and always eager to provide guidance to those who sought it. His ability to engage others with grace and warmth made him a true gentleman—one who knew when to lead and when to pass the baton.

As we reflect on his life, let us remember the advice he imparted during his stirring speech on National Heroes Day, October 19th, 2023. He called upon us to embrace dialogue, tolerance, and nation-building. Let us honor his memory by embodying these values and working together, across divides, for the betterment of Grenada.
Lyden Ramdhanny’s life serves as a beacon of what true service looks like. As a philanthropist, businessman, and statesman, his legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched and the indelible mark he left on our nation. May we carry forward his vision of unity, progress, and peace.

Rest in power, Lyden Ramdhanny. Your life was a testament to service, and your legacy will forever inspire us all.
