Elizabeth (Liz) Senior, beloved mother, wife, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025, at the age of 80. Liz’s life was marked by unwavering kindness, resilience, and a spirit that touched everyone she met.
Born on January 23, 1945, Liz led a life full of adventure, hard work and service. She was the cherished wife of Ron Holliday and Tom Johnson, a devoted mother to her son Sam and step-children Chris and Tracey and loving grandmother of four (Hannah, Zach, Emmy and Zoe), who will forever carry forward her deep values of generosity, independence, and heartfelt care for others.
Liz had a dynamic career that demonstrated her intelligence, work effort and ability to evolve over time. She was a trailblazer as one of only a handful of women in the engineering school at the University of Pennsylvania in the mid-1960s, graduating with a degree in Electrical Engineering. She began her professional journey in marketing, contributing her talents to renowned companies such as IBM, Thomas’s, Johnson & Johnson, Carnation, and Campbell’s Soup. Later, she transitioned into financial services, working as a financial advisor at Morgan Stanley, where her thoughtful guidance benefited many. Never one to shy away from change or challenge, Liz pursued her passion for food and service by attending culinary school. She then shared her warmth and skill as a cook in several assisted living communities, brightening the days of countless residents. In her later years, Liz continued to demonstrate her remarkable work ethic at Amazon, working in a distribution center into her final years.
Throughout her life and frequent relocations, Liz maintained a strong connection to her faith and her church community. She was a dedicated choir member and an active participant in church events wherever she lived, quickly finding ways to contribute and make meaningful connections with others.
Friends, colleagues, and family remember Liz for her selfless generosity, steadfast independence, and thoughtful nature. Her caring presence was a comfort to many, and her resilience in the face of life’s challenges set an enduring example.
Liz’s legacy will live on in the lives of her family, the communities she served, and everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
