Mama, you were so kind to me whenever I followed your son from school at OAU during the holidays to spend time in your home in Lagos. I always felt at home with you; you were like a second mother to me. Even when I started working, I could not think of a better place to stay than under your care, where I experienced acceptance and love.

You would stay up late until Kayode and I returned from work, just to make sure we came back safely. While we ate the meal you had prepared, you would update us on what we had missed from our favorite television programme, which we usually watched together as a family.

Your exemplary Christian life and devotion as a Catholic helped lay a strong foundation for our faith in Christ.

Thank you for all you were to us and for the good virtues you deposited in us through your life and example.

Rest on, Mama, in the bosom of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Grandma, you were kind and caring to everyone who knew you, offering help and support to those who needed them the most. Your devotion to your faith was exemplary, and it had a positive impact on us all.

We would remember the messages of peace and joy that you shared, and you would truly be missed.

May your soul rest in eternal peace. Amen.

I wrote a lengthy tribute i can't find it in the tribute box so I'm going to write another because she is so special and I won't feel complete without it.
People like you are rare ti find in fact some of the things you thought me are back in Nigeria really helped shaped and groomed me. When the about was broken to me I was demoralised but when I found she embraced all the catholic rite before she left this sinful world, I must confess I was secretly happy. I had one wish to see you before you meet the Lord but then man proposes and God disposed.
Your memories will forever linger on and may perpetual light shine upon you in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

I met dear Livinia when she had gone on pilgrimage with my parents to Poland; she spoke fondly of my Dad, who would treat her and her friend Margaret to a beer each evening. Since then, she has been the sweetest, kindest friend, one that we'd consider family.

I will miss greeting her every Sunday and her saying 'well done' to me — which was ironically funny; I should be saying well done to her she would attempt to attend church weekly even in winter. I think this is really the beautiful way in which Livinia has always touched the hearts of people.

Your loving, kind, and supportive family is a truly beautiful testament to the life you lived; Livinia, we'll miss your calm, kind, and warm-hearted spirit and your sweet smile. Rest in peace our dear friend Livinia. We'll miss you.

Mumise as we fondly call her, was mother to us all. She has a heart of gold in the way she just accepts all of us, with so much love and enthusiasm. Every chance to meet Mumsie is to hear about Christ and the sacramentals. Her deep knowledge of the Ecclesia is so vast, you just marvel! Most profound woman that I know. My dear Aunty Funke has gone to rest at the bosom of Jesus Christ that she served with full and total delegation. A devoted catholic that does not joke with her faith, which I admire greatly. I’ve interacted with her since 1989 and it has been a very loving and beautiful relationship. As her lawyer I interacted with her on a personal level and always readily listen to counsel. A very amiable soul Aunty Funke was beautiful in and out. I would surely miss her gentle voice calling “Mummy Iyi” at the other end of the phone, May her soul and souls of all faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen

Mummy Olawole was a loving mother to many of us, who are Kayode’s friends from secondary school.
Her house was always a home from home, and Mummy would engage us with stories of love, encouragement and guidance.

I got to know her early nineties at St Paul's EB, she was a very good Catholic, loving and she doesn't discriminate. Her hugs and pecks are always handy. My dad handled one of her properties somewhere in Bola/ Abeokuta street back in the day. Rest on mum. And to Kayode and the lovely sisters kindly accept our condolences

Mama was a mother to visiting students of Saint Theresa's Minor Seminary, Oke-Are, Ibadan passing through Ebute-Meta, Lagos.

I met her in 1985 when I visited Felix Olawole (my classmate), who had left for the church (St. Paul's Catholic Church, Ebute-Meta, Lagos). Mama ensured that I ate and drank before joining Felix at the church premises.

I did enjoy the cakes and pan-cakes each time I passed through Mama's place because of her love for students and children.

May the soul of Mama, and souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in Peace...... Amen.

Today, my family and I honour the long and beautiful 85-year journey of a remarkable matriarch, Mama Livina Aurelia Olufunke Olawole.
Mama’s light, warmth, and values reached my family clearly through the wonderful daughter she raised, when she joined my uncle in celebrating my graduation in Nottingham, and again when they travelled down to bless my son’s naming ceremony, bringing abundance and joy when we needed it most. I saw a reflection of Mama’s heart. Generosity, care, and a deep devotion to family do not happen by accident; they are nurtured by great mothers.
Mama’s legacy lives on vividly through the kindness, love, and character of her children.
We stand with my dear uncle and aunt during this time of loss, sending our deepest love and gratitude for the beautiful life Mama lived. May her soul rest peacefully in the Lord’s bosom, and may the Almighty comfort the hearts of all the loved ones she leaves behind. 🙏

Today, we honour and celebrate the life of a truly remarkable woman, our grandma , as she is known by our St Patrick’s church community in Plumstead

Grandma was a loving mother, a treasured friend, and a gentle soul whose presence brought comfort and peace to everyone blessed to know her. Soft-spoken and prayerful, she lived her life with quiet dignity, unwavering faith, and a heart full of love.
Grandma’s kindness knew no limits. She gave generously of herself, always putting the needs of others before her own. Whether through a comforting word, a thoughtful gesture, or a heartfelt prayer, she touched countless lives with her warmth, compassion and unconditional love.

She was known for her gentle nature and calm spirit. Anger never found a place in her heart. Instead, she responded to life's challenges with patience, grace, and understanding. Her quiet strength was an inspiration to her family and friends, and her love was a shelter for all who came to her.

As a mother, she nurtured, guided, and loved unconditionally. Her family was her greatest joy, and the values she instilled—faith, kindness, humility, and generosity—will continue to live on through them.

Though we mourn her passing, we are grateful for the beautiful legacy she leaves behind. We will remember her gentle smile, her caring heart, her devoted prayers, and the countless ways she made the world a better place simply by being in it.

Grandma, you leave behind precious memories that time can never erase and a legacy of love that will continue to inspire generations to come. I will always remember your advice to pray and trust in God at all times. I will hold on to those payer booklets and sacramentals you gave to our family. Farewell Tribute to Our Beloved Grandma, Livina Olawale
Today, we give thanks to God for the precious gift of a woman whose life has been a living testimony of faith, love, humility, and obedience. Livina Olawale, whom we all lovingly call Grandma, is not just a member of St. Patrick's—she is a mother in faith, a prayer warrior, and a shining example of what it truly means to walk with Christ.

Grandma has never needed many words to preach the Gospel because her life has always been the sermon. Her quiet acts of kindness, unwavering faith, humility, and sincere love for others have spoken more powerfully than words ever could. She has shown us what it means to trust God completely, to serve without seeking recognition, and to love without expecting anything in return.

I will never forget what Grandma did for me during one of the lowest moments of my life. After failing my driving test four times, I felt broken, discouraged, and ready to give up. Then one day, I saw Grandma praying at Mother Mary's Grotto. I gathered the courage to ask her, "Grandma, please pray for me. I have failed four times."

Without hesitation, she took me by the hand and led me to the grotto. She prayed with such confidence and conviction, as though she already knew God had heard. When she finished, she simply looked at me and said, "Go back. Drive carefully. You will pass."

There was no doubt in her voice because there was no doubt in her faith. I held on to those words, trusted God, and by His grace, I passed. That moment taught me that when a faithful servant prays, hope is restored and faith comes alive. Grandma, I will carry that memory with me for the rest of my life.

One of the things that has always made Grandma so special is the way she genuinely cares for every person. If you had been away from church for a few weeks, she would notice. She would smile and ask, "Where have you been? I haven't seen you." Those simple words carried so much love. They reminded us that we belonged, that someone cared, and that our presence mattered.

Grandma, thank you for teaching us that holiness is not only found in grand gestures but also in quiet faithfulness. Thank you for showing us that prayer changes lives, that kindness reflects Christ, and that obedience to God is never wasted. Thank you for standing firm in your faith without fear, without compromise, and without apology.

As you leave St. Patrick's, you leave behind footprints that time can never erase. Your prayers have strengthened us, your encouragement has lifted us, and your example has challenged us to become better disciples of Christ. Your legacy is written not on paper but in the hearts of the people whose lives you have touched.

While it is difficult to say goodbye, we know that in Christ there is no real goodbye. The same God you have faithfully served will continue to guide your steps, and the seeds of faith you have planted here will continue to bear fruit for generations to come.

Grandma, thank you for loving us. Thank you for praying for us. Thank you for believing in us, even when we struggled to believe in ourselves. We will miss your warm smile, your gentle spirit, your unwavering faith, and your reassuring presence more than words can express.

May the Lord, whom you have served so faithfully, continue to bless you, keep you, and surround you with His peace. May He reward every hidden act of love, every whispered prayer, every sacrifice, and every life you have touched in His name.
