My idea of perfect happiness is to see my children and
grandchildren leading a righteous, happy, healthy and successful lives and to be able to afford to travel to see as much of the world as possible which includes a cruise in one of the luxurious liners and dining in famous restaurants.

I’m glad we had the chance to gather in KL during this Chinese New Year. You always brought us to your favorite restaurants and cared for us, asking how we were doing in Penang. We will surely miss you and always remember you deeply in our hearts.

As my KaoFu, he was a kind and caring person. I still remember when he brought us to the Nursing Home to distribute KFC to those old people. Before MCO, w always had reunion dinners every year near Atria. He was always trying to talk, care about us even though it was hard for him. And this year, I was very happy to be able to have a whole family dinner with him. I will never forget every moment with him(Bala, Golf Club). I will missed him dearly.

I didn’t get to spend very much time with Kau Foo when I was younger but I will always remember him as a kind and gentle soul towards the later part of his life when we had more frequent dinners together (he loved food!) whenever I am visiting KL. He would always have a smile on his face and was always concerned about my wellbeing. He will be very missed.

He is a kind and caring man. Always concern for his siblings and his family well being.

I am very grateful to him for recommending me to work at Shearn Delamore & Co., 1 of the largest law firm in Kuala Lumpur. My first legal job without legal experience. I won't be what I am today without Yew Meng's encouragement.

His passion is food. His favourite restaurant was Chef Wong in Pudu Plaza. He was very sad after Chef Wong retired. We then found another restaurant but this is a high end restaurant. His favourite dish were salt and pepper squid and soya sauce prawns.

His other passion was travelling. We have visited many countries and the last was Italy just before Covid-19. We enjoyed our trips together very much.

He will be dearly missed by me.

I first met Mr Lim as a boarder at Immanuel College, Adelaide where I was studying with Jacqui. After we graduated High school I went to KL for a holiday and stayed with the Lim family. I remember Mr Lim holding a big sign at the airport for us, smiling away. He was a friendly guy,and I've always seen so much of his personality in Jacqui. He always had so much pride when talking about Michael and Jacqui, and his grandchildren. To all his family and friends in Malaysia I extend my sincere condolences.

My Grandpa was always an important figure in my life. I spent the majority of the time I knew him on the other side of the world in Canada. But regardless of the distance, I always knew he cared. He was always interested in how school was going, and what I was doing for fun. We would talk about movies a lot, and he would share which restaurant he was going to eat at next. He was there for some of my most formative moments, both the ones I remember, and the ones I can't. My first memory of watching Star Wars was with him (although he begged me to watch Batman Begins with him instead). He was there for my favourite Christmas moments as a kid. And as a teenager, he was there for when I moved houses in Saskatchewan, and even afterwards, when he went and travelled back home, he was always just a Facebook message away for when I needed someone to talk to. I even still think back on some of the things he said to me, more than a decade after the fact. This includes his use of the old proverb "all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" when he would hear of me taking my eighth grade social studies project too seriously. Even through law school, this reminded me to balance my relationship with work and to try to remember what is important.

The last time I saw Grandpa was in 2018 when I visited Australia again. I was immediately reminded of his immensely comforting presence. I'll miss that significantly now that he is gone. I have a distinct memory of being about eight or so and after having not seen him for a while, running up and hugging him because I had a sudden fear that I was not appreciating him enough after hearing of one of my friends' grandparents dying. I remember that catching him off guard. I appreciated him then, but it's really only once someone is gone that you truly recognize the special role that they played and continue to play in your life. I was fortunate enough to have had him for 25 years of my life, although I wish he would be there for many more years of it. Not everyone gets to grow up with a grandpa. I'm glad I had mine, and I could never forget him.

Yew Meng was a kind, quiet gentleman. He providd me accommodation in his home when I came to Adelaide to study. Julia's parents (June and Orm Rowley) were my Australian host family. They took great care of me, included me in all functions. I'm grateful to Yew Meng for his kindness.
Yew Meng has two great families, the Rowleys and the Lims.
In Malaysia, Yew Meng's father (Malayan Bank director) gave me a job as a clerk after I finished my form 5. That's where I earned my salary to come to Australia.
Yew Meng was a VI Colombo Plan scholar. He did Masters of Business Administration. He went back to Malaysia to manage the Reserve Bank. RIP Yew Meng and thank you for what you have done for me. I have done well and I will follow your act of kindness.
