Remembrance

Lida Hadjiaghai Chu passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family.  She was a devoted wife and mother, a beloved daughter and sister, and a treasured friend whose presence brought warmth and comfort to those around her.

Lida was born in Tehran, Iran, on September 19, 1968, to her loving parents, Abolghassem Hadjiaghai and Nosrat Akhbari.  At the age of ten, she left her home country to immigrate to the United States.  From an early age, Lida helped her family build a new life, carrying herself with strength and compassion that remained with her throughout her life.  She would later study at UCLA, earning a B.S. in Applied Mathematics and an M.S. in Biostatistics with honors.

Lida spent 25 years at Amgen, working across many areas of the company and eventually leading oncology marketing teams as an executive director.  Her colleagues appreciated her dedicated and thoughtful approach to work and collaboration.  In 2019, she chose a new path and began her own biopharmaceutical consulting company, a change that allowed her to spend more time where she was happiest - with her family.

Family was the center of Lida's world.  She shared a loving marriage with her husband, Larry, and took great pride in the life they built together.  She held a deep love for her parents and treasured the close lifelong bond she shared with her sisters, Ladan and Mahsa.  Above all, she loved her sons, Ryan and Brennan, beyond measure, finding her greatest joy in watching them grow and celebrating every milestone by their side.

Lida found joy in traveling, gardening, yoga, attending concerts, cooking Persian dishes, and spending time with those she loved.  Thoughout her life, she built lasting connections and touched many lives through simple acts of care, encouragement, and friendship.  She will always be known for her warmth and generosity that made time spent with her meaningful, and her love and kindness live on in all who knew her.  She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
