Tribute

With heavy hearts we share that our dear Lars passed away on the morning of September 10, 2026 after a long battle with cancer. We are deeply grateful that, as a family, we were able to be by his side in this final days and surround him with love. 

Lars was a loving father, grandpa, husband, and brilliant social entrepreneur, founding multiple initiatives with local communities in Kenya, India, and Norway. Ambitious and consistently challenging the monotony of conventional green thinking, Lars always seems to be ahead of his time. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered. 

We know that many people have great memories to share about Lars and we have created this page for all that loved him to share photos and stories. In lieu of flowers or other gifts, we ask that donations are sent to the Mara School for Girls. 

Funeral Details

To celebrate Lars's life and legacy the family will have three memorial services.

* 23rd September - Memorial service in Nairobi (hybrid) in to allow friends from around the world to follow.
* 3rd October - Funeral service in Orust, Sweden
* December (TBD) - Funeral service at the Maasai Mara, Kenya.
