Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of Larry Unterseher on the 22nd of July, 2024, in Eureka, CA. Larry was born on May 25, 1951, and led a life full of energy, love, and joy that will be remembered by all who knew him.
Larry's vivacious and quirky (in the best way) personality was infectious to those around him. He was outgoing, always willing to strike up a conversation, and was a friend to all who met him. His door was always open, and he made everyone he talked to feel welcome and loved. He took many minutes to tell you ALL the stories. :)
Larry was an incredible man who imparted valuable lessons of patience, forgiveness, and grace to those around him. He believed in the power of understanding, the strength of patience, and the importance of sharing God’s grace with everyone he came into contact with. Through his actions and words, he instilled these values into not only his family but also his wider circle of friends and acquaintances.
Larry was deeply committed to supporting small schools in the Northern California Conference. Besides his kids and grandkids, the work he did for them is undoubtedly one of his greatest accomplishments. He was a strong believer in nurturing young minds and championed the cause of offering high-quality Christian education to all who would seek it. He was passionate about sharing the message of grace with everyone he met. His life's work was to inspire others, especially students, to embrace the transformative power of grace in their lives.
Larry left behind an enduring legacy of kindness and friendship, and his memory will continue to inspire us all. His love for life, passion for helping others, and his joyful spirit made him not only a great man but also the best dad and grandpa anyone could ask for.
He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Unterseher; daughter, Kim Espinoza and her husband, Alex Espinoza; son, Mike Unterseher and his wife, Emily Unterseher; grandsons, Austin and Aaron Espinoza, Jake and Ben Unterseher; and sister, Jeanie Rindahl. His love, wisdom, and kindness will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to shine brightly in the lives of his loved ones. We are comforted in knowing that Larry's spirit will live on through the many hearts he touched.

Every time I saw him after that day, he remembered all the details we shared and routinely checked in on me.
I was so thrilled when I learned he would become part of my extended family and be father-in-law to my brother.
I truly feel honored and thankful for all the times I was able to spend time with Larry.
He will never be forgotten.

His steadfast commitment to ensuring that every student and teacher felt valued and cherished was a testament to his dedication. As a family, we are honored to continue his legacy by helping others experience the same level of support. Another passion of Larry's was helping the environment. He would spend hours in the forest and dedicated significant time to collecting and recycling. If you would like to donate to planting a tree in his name, please comment "TREES" in the comment section.
