Obituary
In Loving Memory of Pastor Lucy Muzangaza (née Munemo)
Pastor Lucy Muzangaza, née Munemo, was born on 15 February 1960 in Shurugwi, Midlands Province, Zimbabwe. She was promoted to glory and went to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Thursday, 18 December 2025, in Walsall, United Kingdom.
She is survived by her loving husband, Mystery Muzangaza; her three sons, Emmanuel, Theophilus, and Timothy; her daughters-in-law, Precious and Margorette; and her cherished grandchildren, Ethan, Tinotenda, and Emily.
Pastor Lucy Muzangaza faithfully served the Lord Jesus Christ throughout her life in many capacities, including Evangelist, Singer, Prayer Warrior, Worshipper, Mother, Adviser, and Mentor, among many others. She was a devoted servant of God whose life was marked by unwavering faith, humility, love, and a deep commitment to prayer and worship. Her impact on family, church, and community will be remembered and treasured for generations to come.
Timeline
She later served as a lead worship vocalist in the AFM Zimbabwe Crusades, Mashonaland Province, ministering under the late Rev Langton Kupara and subsequently alongside the late Rev Phineas W. Chiweshe.
Her service in these ministries spanned 1981 to 1984, during which she ministered powerfully through worship, touching countless lives and drawing many souls to Christ.
In 1984, Lucy and Mystery were married, beginning a lifelong marriage grounded in their shared devotion to God and family.
It was at Mutorashanga that the couple witnessed and testified to several miraculous events, including a child who had nearly died being restored to life through prayer during a service, a car being miraculously refueled by God during preaching missions, and the healing of many sick individuals.
Despite the challenging times, including retrenchments of workers, many churches were built and strengthened at Mutorashanga and Caesar Mines under their ministry, leaving a lasting spiritual legacy in the community.
During this time, they also established new branches of the AFM, including AFM Belvedere, as well as the Warren Park D and Westlea Assemblies, leaving a lasting spiritual legacy in the region.
Pastor Lucy Muzangaza faithfully served in the Apostolic Faith Mission International Ministries (UK) from 2004 to 2017, alongside her husband. Shortly after arriving in the United Kingdom, she was appointed National Ladies Chairwoman and went on to serve in various other roles throughout her tenure.
Affectionately known as “our Mother” by many, Pastor Lucy was deeply loved for her nurturing spirit, humility, and unwavering compassion. She devoted her life to prayer, faithfully praying with nearly everyone she encountered. She stood as an intercessor for many, visited the sick in hospitals and in their homes, and consistently ministered comfort, encouragement, and hope through prayer.

"As I spoke to you before you went to theatre, little did I know it was our final goodbye. You seemed to be saying, Son, I've completed my earthly journey. I've fought the good fight and finished the race. Farewell, God's faithful servant - you've passed the torch, inspiring countless lives from youth to your final day. May your soul rest in eternal peace." at list your saw my wife, child and heard my songs which i am going to release 2026.

Fast forward to 2006 I moved to United Kingdom leaving my wife and my 4 daughters behind. I was surprised to see l Pastor Muzangaza and mama as I had been looking for for years and I knew it could only be God. Mama prayed for me when I did not have papers to work and after the Dunamis conference 2011 in October she prayed for me and in December I got indefinite leave to remain. During this time I also wanted to bring my family over and Mama fasted and prayed with me . Though during that time I didnt attend church every week, she never shamed me and when I would ask her to pray for me she would willingly. The last time I saw mama was 2016 dunamis conference and I spoke briefly with her. I never got to give her my testimony but when I see my family I see the grace of God and her prayers

Farewell, Mama. Thank you for your prayers, encouragement, hope, and unwavering faith in God. We will always cherish the moments we shared in worship. You were deeply loved, and you will be greatly missed.

Mom lived a great life through prayer and fellowship. She was a lovely soul , filled with joy and laughter. She would always say gotwe rangu Shanda nesimba so that you will take care of me and your father , go and be a great doctor so that you may treat us but dear mom our plans were cut so short . You have left a great big space in heart . I will continue to love you and cherish you in my heart . I will continue to live with the memories we shared . God has gained our precious angel , makarwa kurwa kwakanaka amai vangu .
May Your Soul Rest In Eternal Peace My lovely Mother, My lovely Lucy ❤️✨Thank you for being the best mother to me and my elder siblings.

To me, she was like a mother. She cared for me with kindness and guided me with wisdom. Her words were gentle yet powerful, always grounded in Scripture and spoken with grace. She taught me that true strength comes from trusting God and serving others humbly.
Mama Lucy was a woman of steadfast faith. She celebrated in times of joy and prayed through trials. Her life embodied the beauty of a heart surrendered to God. She carried herself with dignity and compassion, reminding us that greatness lies not in titles but in service.
She invested herself in people—building lives, strengthening families, and shaping destinies. Many of us are living testimonies of her love and mentorship. She believed in us when we doubted ourselves and reminded us that with God, all things are possible.
Though we grieve her passing, we rejoice knowing she has completed her race and received her crown of glory. Her legacy will endure in the lives she touched, in the seeds of faith she planted, and in the love she freely gave.
She was the first Pastor’s wife I knew in AFMIM UK from 2004 to 2015. She stood with me in prayer after two miscarriages, carrying my pain as her own. Her unwavering faith encouraged me, and in 2008, I gave birth to a beautiful daughter. Every time I see my daughter, I remember her faith in God and the strength she gave me when I had none.
She was more than a Pastor’s wife—she was a spiritual mother, a mentor, and a living example of unwavering trust in God. She taught me to stand firm, believe again, and hold on even when life felt unbearable. Because of her, I am now a woman of unshakable faith, shaped by her prayers, counsel, and quiet strength.
Her legacy lives on in me and in every life she touched with her compassion and steadfast belief in God’s goodness. I will forever be grateful for the gift of her life and the seeds of faith she planted in mine.
Rest well, Mama Lucy. Your work here is complete, but your impact will echo through generations. We will miss you deeply, but we will carry your lessons in our hearts forever.
With love in Christ,
Emily Kaliwoh

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all

To my darling wife, muroora vangu, Pastor Lucy Muzangaza,
the pain I felt when I heard that you had passed on is truly indescribable. How could you, nhai muroora? After promising me, “tere Eppy, I have something important to tell you,” this moment never came. My heart aches deeply 😥😔. I first knew about you in the year 2000, when you and my brother, Rev. Mystery Muzangaza, came to pray for our cousin who was unwell at our home in Warren Park. From that very moment, you became part of our family. Your prayers were sincere and full of power, our cousin was restored, and we were forever grateful to God for using you as an instrument of healing and restoration.
In 2004, when you came to the UK, we became inseparable. I remember visiting from Manchester to Mai Maguta, oh, how we laughed, shared countless stories, and always ended with worship and prayer. You were truly an icon of faith. The visits to our parents and will never forget the unending suppirt you gave us during the death of our father during COVID-19. I remember when you visited mama na daddy vauya kuManchester and the farewell we always did. We counselled each other through both good and difficult times. You became my greatest cheerleader and supporter, especially when I launched my charity organisation, always travelling tirelessly to Manchester with my brother to support me. My heart is deeply grieved, I am ripped apart as I mourn a legend. You supported me in counselling those preparing for marriage, young couples, and you became a faithful pillar of IWTA. You never counted distance nor cost. For every member who faced challenges, you were there muroora vangu selfless, present, and loving. Haaaaa, you have left a massive void, muroora vangu. Our long conversations, our counsel, our laughter, the machumas you connected me to, kuzoti vana Gumbi Gora Mukuruwambwa, you were truly an epitome of love and unity. One of the greatest highlights was when I launched my book, “Down But Not Out.” The encouragement you and my brother gave me was far beyond my imagination. I will forever be grateful. Your counselling sessions with my family and the IWTA family will never be forgotten. Muroora vangu, I will forever love you dearly. Famba zvakanaka muroora vangu, chizorora zvako mukubata kwako muna Mwari.
You fought the good fight, and through it all, you remained steadfast and faithful until the very end. I will continue to love you until we meet again.
“Muroora Pastor Lucy, you have fought the good fight, you have finished the race, you have kept the faith.”
2 Timothy 4:7. Rest in power and perfect peace.
Tete Eppie murikuita basa rakanaka kwazvo*😭😭😭😭😭😭😭my cheerleaders. Thank you for the encouragement 🙏
“Those we love never truly leave us; they walk beside us every day unseen, unheard, but forever felt in the heart.”
May your legacy of faith, love, service, and unity continue to speak for generations. 🕊️🕊 🕊 🕊 🙏🏽

The passing of Mai Muzangaza has left a great emptiness in our hearts. She was not only a mother and a wife, but a true worshipper whose love for God was evident in her life and in her music. Through her songs, she ministered comfort, faith, and hope to many, often lifting spirits even in difficult times.
We thank God for the gift of her life and for the beautiful memories she leaves behind. Though we grieve, we do not grieve without hope, because we trust in God’s promises and His perfect plan.
