Kristal Holliwell

Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Kristal Holliwell on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at the age of 44.
Kristal will be forever loved and deeply missed by her parents, Mark and Judy Holliwell, as well as her sisters, Kelly Viljanmaa (David) and Jade Bass (Trevor). She will be remembered always by her nieces, Sawyer and Teagan, and her nephews, Jacoby and Brooks. Most importantly, Kristal leaves behind her adored son, Tristan, who was the greatest joy and purpose in her life.
Kristal lived a full and adventurous life. She travelled the world, worked for CMT, met countless country music superstars, and formed friendships wherever she went. Her life took an unexpected turn in 2010 when she was diagnosed with a brain tumor. With incredible strength and determination, she fought through that challenge and was blessed with the greatest joy of her life when Tristan was born in 2016.
Tristan was Kristal's greatest source of happiness. Together, they shared countless adventures, from long walks, to days spent at their local beaches. Their connection was unbreakable, and the memories they created together will be cherished always.
Kristal will be cremated, and her interment will take place at a later date. A Celebration of Life will be held on September 16, 2026, on what would have been Kristal's 45th birthday. Details will be shared once arrangements have been finalized.
Kristal's adventurous spirit, unwavering love for her son, and resilience will be remembered always. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her and loved her.

Kristal was a fun coworker and was usually full of energy and enthusiasm. I really enjoyed our time working together. She had a great sense of humour. I remember how much she wanted a child and I’m so happy that she was able to enjoy that.
Condolences to her family

Kristal,
I can hear your upbeat, quick talk. No one spoke faster than you! You were a force of positivity when you walked into any room. The first thing my mom said when she heard this sad news was, "Kristal was so smart." You left an impression on all of us, and I know that beautiful spirit will carry through your son Tristan. Rest in Peace dear Kristal. You were a beautiful person on the inside and out.

Kristal was the "big sister" I never had. When Kelly and I became best friends in grade 7, she wrapped me up with open arms and her beautiful brown eyes. I admired her instantly. So beautiful. So smart. I revelled at the opportunity to be in the orbit of the amazing Holliwell girls. I am so devastated by this unfathomable news and still trying to understand how a light so bright could be gone. My family and I are sending all of our love to Judy, Mark, Kelly, Jade, Tristan and their families. Please know our thoughts and love are with you always. Kristal will never be forgotten. ♥️

My condolences to the entire family. Its been a very long time, but I do still have memories from the family gatherings back when we were little. I specifically have a memory of Kristal telling our papa she was saving all her money to buy a car, she said it with such confidence, it clearly stuck with me. My prayers are with you all.

To Judy, Mark, Kelly and Jade: My deepest sympathies for your loss. Although I only knew Krystal during her childhood years, I fondly remember her beaming smile and laughter when she would play with my stepdaughter, Julie. I only wish I would have been able to witness her grow up to be the amazing woman described here.

I’ve been so saddened to hear this news. Kristal was one of the kindest people you could ever meet. During high school, she and Kelly spent months after school helping me and a few friends with extra support in certain classes. I’ll never forget the selflessness and kindness she showed us.

As we got older, I always loved running into her at events around town. We’d always take a few minutes to catch up, and she always had that warm, genuine smile.

Kristal’s smile will be deeply missed. Heaven truly gained a good one. My thoughts are with her family, friends, and everyone whose life she touched
