"Though his time with us was short, his spirit shined brighter than the stars. His strength and courage will forever inspire, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. In the arms of God, he is free now, soaring where pain and limitations can no longer follow."
Obituary
Kingsley James Larsen, aged 16, passed away on October 14, 2024, in Denver, Colorado. Born on September 17, 2008, Kingsley faced significant physical and mental challenges from birth. Despite these challenges, his life was a profound source of joy, love, and inspiration to all who knew him.
Kingsley may not have achieved milestones in the conventional sense, such as walking or speaking, but his impact was deeply felt. His smile and laughter brought warmth and positivity to every room, and his resilience in the face of adversity was nothing short of heroic. Kingsley's strength and perseverance were incredible accomplishments that inspired those around him, especially his caregivers, who learned deeper compassion, patience, and understanding through their interactions with him.
He is survived by his loving parents, Zac and Summer Larsen; his grandmother, Paulicia Larsen (Fort Collins); grandparents, Phil and Genene Larsen (Fontana, California), John and Katrina Robinson (Calgary, Alberta), and Richard and Susan Forrest (Carlsbad, NM) ; great-grandparents: Chuck and Norma Childers (Tucson, Az), Betty Forrest (Lubbock, Tx), and India Peters (Fort Collins), along with his godparents, Skye Forrest (Tucson, Az) and Chris Odgen (Pittsburgh, Pa).
A private celebration of life was held in Denver on October 25 to honor Kingsley's remarkable journey. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Kingsley Foundation, which supports children with similar challenges and continues Kingsley's legacy of inspiring love and acceptance. Summer and Zac are revitalizing their nonprofit foundation to help families in need who have terminally ill and severely handicapped children.
From Kingers:
Though I could not walk or speak,
In silent ways, I touched your heart.
In every breath, in every glance,
I lived my life, a work of art.
With hands so small, with eyes so bright,
I shared with you my quiet light.
Now though I've gone, I'm still around,
In memories, my love is found.

Memory wall
Though words never came, you stood out from the crowd.
With babbles and smiles, you filled up the air,
A soul full of love beyond any care.
Sixteen sweet years, you were never alone,
In your parents' arms, you made a safe home.
Dad and Mommy, with love and with grace,
Held you close through every embrace.
Papa John’s voice, so deep and so true,
You always knew it was meant just for you.
Fingers entwined, hearts softly in sync,
You never needed to talk, just to think.
Now you’re dancing with Jesus, in joy and in peace,
From your pain, your sweet soul has been released.
But Kingsley, you see us, and you whisper with love,
“I’ll be waiting for you, when you rise above.”
So thank you, Zac and Summer,, for the years you gave,
For the love, the care, and the strength to be brave.
He’s watching, he's grateful, from heaven’s bright shore,
Waiting to greet you, at eternity’s door.
Until we meet again,
Papa John and Tata
