Like a bird singing in the rain, let grateful memories survive in time of sorrow"

Obituary

Kimberly Rae Collver had been vulnerable to addiction for a long time, and in the early morning of August 29th, 2024, her life was taken too soon at the age of 61.

While addiction was a big part of her life, it doesn’t define her as a person. She was a mother, a sister, a daughter, and a friend.

Earlier in her life, she was an ASU sorority sister with Chi Omega. After graduation, she became a registered nurse in Sherman Oaks, California. Her battle with addiction lasted many years, which pulled her away from the person she wanted to be. Despite the pain her addiction had caused, her smile and laugh warmed the hearts of everyone around her.

She will always be remembered as a kindhearted and beautiful soul before she lost herself to the drugs and alcohol. Regardless of the physical and mental pain she endured, she tried her best and will be missed by many.

If another life does exist, I hope she gets the happy life she deserves, free from pain and regret. Kimberly is now at peace and her memories will be cherished forever. I ask that we hold on to compassion in her memory, as addiction is a complex illness that affects many.

She is survived by her daughter, Haley, whom she loved dearly until the end.

It was with great sadness to have recieved the news we all feared. It is absolutely devastating to see such a vibrant women lose her battle to substances. I am fortunate however to have spent some time of peace with Kim in Sedona during her brave period of sobriety. Her life will live on and her tragedy turned into something purposeful as I use her story when counseling my pediatric patients about the danger and devastation of addiction. Kim's story will ultimately save others, for that I am sure

I am now glad to see my friend be able to rest in beautiful peace.

I miss you everyday: I want to pick up the phone to catch up. It is hard to believe it has been a month without you. You are my sister and I hope you are at peace now. I love you!
