Hello Becky Aunty!
We're so sorry we couldn't make it today.
It was a beautiful service.
Thank you for sharing Mama with us, such a precious lady. Like Dad said, she was an Australian mother and grandmother to so many.
It is an absolute honor and blessing to have been able to call her mama (my Australian grandmother).
She will be missed, but fondly remembered.
Will keep you and the family in our prayers, for God's transcending peace to be upon you all.
Love Steve, Mel, Mia and Chloe.

As a little girl I remember meeting you and your beautiful family at church and from that day we became family. I have treasured that in my heart for always. You truly made an impact in my life, the love and kindness you shared was truly like no other. You always hugged with pure love and tenderness, your beautiful smiled beamed with joy, and you were always glowing because the presence of the Lord was always around you. I will never forget your cheeky giggle and our little conversations in your kitchen (your favourite room in the house 🤭).
I will never forget the day you grabbed a pen and a piece of paper you went along writing and then you handed me these kind words of wisdom:
A thought reaps an action,
An action reaps a habit,
A habit reaps a character,
Our character reaps a DESTINY!
From that little girl until now, I truly feel blessed that I got to call you my little Grandma I will cherish our memories forever and always. I Love you and thank you for engraving a piece of you in my heart, it is a permanent reminder of how special your are 🩷

In loving memory of our mama, who left us just one month ago. Though our time together was finite, the impact she had on our lives is immeasurable. She was not just a mother/mother-in-law, she was a guiding light, a confidante, and a source of unconditional love.
Mama had an incredible gift for making everyone feel cherished. Her laughter filled the room, and her warmth could take away the coldest of days. Whether it was through her home-cooked meals, her stories that seemed to stretch on for hours, days or her comforting embrace, she had a way of making every moment feel special.
She taught us the values of kindness, resilience, and the importance of family. Her strength in the face of challenges inspired us to be the best version of ourselves, even in difficult times. We carry with us the lessons she imparted-lessons about compassion, understanding, and the beauty of life.
We miss her more than words can express. The world feels quieter without her laughter. and there's an emptiness that seems insurmountable. Yet, we find comfort in the memories we shared and the love she poured into every moment. She may no longer be with us in body, but her spirit lives on in our hearts and in the hearts of all those who knew her.
As we navigate this new chapter without her, we hold onto her legacy:a legacy of love, strength, and the joy of living fully. Mama, thank you for everything. We love you, and we will carry you with us always. Mama, whenever you're ready, please visit us in our dreams. We know you're happy and completed your earthly life satisfactorily and now busy in the heavily kingdom but do visit so we know you're okay specially for Mimima. "ஐயோகடவுளே" just for you, Mama. XOXO

Aunty Kapadu. My Preston Market shopping buddy. From Raglan Street to Murray Road. You, Uncle and Bec welcomed me and Henry with open arms. You gave us a bed to rest our weary bodies, food to fill our empty stomachs and so much love to fill our empty hearts. As we adjusted to a new life in Melbourne you and your family made us part of your family. When Zandrea came along you welcomed her as your own grandchild. Your huge smile and warm embrace gave her so much love and comfort. Known affectionately as Ammi to Zandrea your legacy will continue to live in her heart. You never failed to pray for me and Zandrea. Your phone calls of Jayanthi ma eppadi errukeh continued with an inspired verse from the bible will be truely missed. Your unconditional love and kindness exemplifies the love of Christ. My prayer warrior I will miss you. But I know the multitude of prayers you have done in the last 34 years would be more than enough to cover me , Zandrea and her future children. Your life and legacy fills my soul with love and hope. I thank the Lord Jesus for blessing me with the privilege to experience life with you. Memories of you will continue to live in my heart.

Ammachie, you were my true grandparent in the absence of my biological grandparents. You always took care of me, inquired around me and prayed for me. Thank you for being there through many ups and downs and milestone moments. I promise I’ll get married someday as you always requested me to do haha. Love to Aunty Nimmi, Uncle Scotty, Uncle John & Aunty Jaya, Uncle Daniel & Aunty Irene.

Will always remember the warmth and love you gave me.

Kappudu Paati will always be remembered as a loving, caring and cheerful person. She took care of Vasi mama when Sundar thatha brought him to Brunei to work as a teacher. My childhood memories of them are nostalgic when all of us would get gifts when they visited our Pooti paati’s house in Chennai. These are all fond memories of Kappudu Paati and Sundar thatha. An exemplary life that will be celebrated for generations. Our heartfelt condolences to John mama, Danny mama and Nimmi chithi. May her soul rest in peace. May God comfort you all with His peace.

I was deeply saddened to hear about Aunty’s passing. I still remember the very first time I arrived in Melbourne. You, Aunty, and Uncle didn’t just welcome me into your home; you welcomed me into your hearts. I can picture it so clearly: that small kitchen, warm and busy, filled with the most comforting aromas. I still remember her making murunga curry and serving me again and again, gently insisting I have more.
That was Aunty’s love in action. Quiet. Practical. Generous. No fuss. Just care.
She was a beautiful, prayerful soul. The kind of person who made people feel at ease within minutes. Her warmth didn’t depend on who you were or where you came from, she simply gave it. And she touched everyone she met because she always led with kindness. You carry that same warmth, Bec. I’m truly grateful for the love and care you showed her.
Thank you, Aunty, for your endless love, your generosity, and the way you made people feel at home. You will be missed more than words can say, and you will be forever held in my heart.
Love Jay & Kim

They say family isn’t always blood, and you were the most beautiful proof of that. Though we only met once in person, and though our world was mostly a screen and a voice across the miles through Mamak videocall, you built a bridge of love that felt as solid as the ground beneath our feet. Thank you for letting us call you Grandma. Thank you for those sun-drenched Australian afternoons in your kitchen and dining room, where you fed us not just with food, but with your whole history, your warmth, your heart. I can still smell the garlic tempering in the ghee for the dal, that rich, aroma that promised comfort in every spoonful. You served it to us warm, brushed with love and butter, perfect for dipping into that humble, heavenly dal. It was more than a meal. It was an heirloom, passed across continents and generations, from your hands to ours. That single shared table, among countless online chats and pixelated smiles, became a sanctuary—a memory so vivid, so imbued with your spirit, that it feels timeless. Now, the three of us brothers are scattered far away JP, SG and MY, and our hearts ache with the cruel knowledge that we cannot gather again around you, cannot share another one of your delicious meals. That one precious, real moment together now shines even brighter, a treasure we will hold onto forever. We will miss your voice, your wisdom dearly. But we will also miss the future meals we dreamed of sharing. We will miss you, always. You are deeply, deeply missed, Australia grandma. Your love, like the taste of your cooking, is unforgettable.

Aunty, was a great cook. Uppuma was something i never really liked eating but after eating it from her, it was magic. And her mutton uruka is another favourite. I tried replicating it but could never get the same taste. Aunty was a wonderful person, who was always kind and loving. Memories of her will always be treasured. Our deepest condolences to her beautiful children.

Becky, John and Daniel, please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of your dear and beautiful mother.
Aunty Vedha, as lovingly known to me and my brother, Sujey
She was a wonderful lady. Full of love and such warm and kind hospitality.
Both my brother and I loved your parents. They treated us with so much kindness, fed us and cared for us when we visited your home .. which was almost daily back in the 1970s. Beautiful memories.
We felt so comfortable in your home - it was our second home because of your parent's kindness and warm hospitality.
Your mother was a great cook. We loved eating her Indian dishes which she worked hard to prepare and would generously share with us
May God comfort you during this painful separation.
God Bless you, Becky, Scott, John & Daniel
Lots of 💙❤️Sweety

A life well lived!
She was a blessing to all around her.
Most recently, she visited Mervin’s restaurant in Adelaide, prayed and blessed the business. We enjoyed hearing stories shared by Shyamala and Kappudu Paati of wonderful holidays in India together.
We thank God for her life and witness.

I used to call her Kappudu chitha never realising that she was actually athai. It is simple in English because there is only one word for aunts. In Tamil chitha (chithi) is for mother's sister or father's sister in law and athai is for father's sister or mother's sister in law.
When we were children Sundar mama and Kappudu athai's visits to Madras (Chennai) along with their children meant grand Christmas season in Patti's (grandma) house.
Once we heard the news about their impending arrival we started dreaming of exotic foreign gifts and waited to meet them with expectant hearts. We were never disappointed. They were our Santas. I still remember the Paros spool tape recorder they gifted us.
Christmas turned into grand Indian weddings. Our English speaking cousins were our fashion icons. We imitated their hairstyle and clothes. We in turn became fashion icons in our small town.
They taught us to twist. Introduced us to western music, childhood games of foreign lands, Malay songs.
Kappudu athai was a great cook. She introduced us to 'Sotong' (calamari). I have this habit of associating relatives with daily events. For instance whenever I slice onions, polish my shoes, or hear early morning gospel songs I think of John mama my mother's eldest brother. Likewise I think of Kappudu athai when I eat calamari or sing that lovely hymn 'Amazing Grace.' She sang that like a pro.
Her wholehearted smile and ringing laughter lit up the entire room. When I last met her in 2008 in Melbourne she was so amused by my loud snoring, and laughed out loud. During that visit I felt that she was always smiling with unlimited capacity for celebrating the gift of life.
In August this year when I spoke with her she recalled an incident from my childhood and I could visualise her smile and chuckle. She was married to one of the kindest gentlemen I have ever known. She was blessed with truly loving and caring children. Well deserved blessings. She will live on in my heartwarming memories just as Sundar mama does. Both mama and athai lived selfless sacrificial lives. The three words that sum up their lives are Genuine Love and Generosity.
I have a very personal relationship with the family. Therefore it will always be impossible for me not to miss them both.
Au revoir athai. Thank you for your exemplary life. Yes Au revoir. Yes, until we meet again. With much ❤️ and gratitude.
Your nephew Tommy
