Obituary

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Karen Holman, who was born on 27th August 1968 and passed away on 19 September 2026.

Karen will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and the quiet ability to bring people together. Family, friends, neighbours, and colleagues all experienced the warmth and sincerity that made time spent with her meaningful.

Throughout life, she built lasting connections and touched many lives through simple acts of care, encouragement, and friendship. Conversations, shared moments, and everyday gestures created memories that will remain with those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Family meant a great deal to Karen. Friends valued loyalty and sincerity, while colleagues appreciated dedication and a thoughtful approach to work and collaboration.


The passing of Karen leaves a space that cannot be filled. Yet the memories, lessons, and moments shared will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her.

Karen will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

My love for cooking and baking comes from my mom. Every holiday was an event to make something new and to follow a theme and to be so creative in the kitchen. The one Halloween, she actually went and made tiny chocolate coffins that had a jelly baby inside them. She covered this whole lot in "dirt" and gave us the little shovel spoons she bought, so we could go "grave robbing" for a dessert. I'm really going to miss all the fun themes

She could quote the opening line to The Lion King because we watched it so many times as kids... 
What was Karen's favorite Travel destination?
Definitely a trip up to the Kruger National Park. She loved going to Ngwenya. Nothing beats sitting on the deck having sundowners watching the animals come to the river or having a cup of tea in the morning on the chalet patio watching the birds. She was her happiest out in nature.
