In honor of a life that left footprints of love.

Obituary

Judith Kay (Lenhart) Sowers passed away unexpectedly at the age of 76 on March 5, 2025, at Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus surrounded by her family. Judy was born July 2, 1948 in Columbus, Ohio to Marion and Joan (Spence) Lenhart. She was raised in Columbus, lived in and around the surrounding cities, and also in several different states as she traveled the country with her son and his family. She graduated from Gahanna-Lincoln High School in 1966 and took classes at The Ohio State University. Most of her employment was for Consolidated Freightways. She was a loving mother and grandmother and made friends everywhere she went. Her laugh was contagious and her smile could light up a room. There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for anyone. Our comfort lies in the fact that she knew Jesus and He knew her. We are confident in the hope we will see her again one day. Judy is preceded in death by her husband Edward Sowers, her parents Marion and Joan (Spence) Lenhart, her brother and sister-in-law James and Roberta (Hughes) Lenhart, and her sister Jackie (Lenhart) Ennemoser. She is survived by her son Edward (Brynn) Sowers and her grandchildren Emily, Allyson, Edward, and Jaxson, her loving partner Dennis Schiermann, her stepdaughter Diana Rightmer and grandchildren Torry Ricketts and Chance Rightmer, her stepdaughter Elizabeth Jackson, grandson James Jackson Jr, great grandson James Jackson III, brother-in-law Joseph Ennemoser, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A celebration of life will take place in the coming months.

Judy was one of our special Friends. Our husbands work together that’s how we met. And been friends for over40 yrs.We went everywhere together on vacations to our cabin in NCarolina went out to eat with each other and ate dinner at each others home she was a great cook. I never forget when we adopted our Daughter she was the first one who was with me while our husbands was in North Carolina trout fishing. She brought a bag full of stuff everything you would need to take care of a baby that’s the kind of person she was the most giving, loving and all around fun to be with, she had this wonderful laugh and was a beautiful friend inside and out. A few weeks before she passed she called me and was so excited to tell me her son and Fsmily were moving back to Ohio. She was so jolly and Happy that they were moving closer to her. She loved her Family.so much.little did I know that was the last time I got to talk to her.we talked about when it got warmer I’d come and visit her and her new apartment, they just moved back to Ohio from Arizona. She will truly be missed by all who knew her. Love you Judy will see you again great friend my 💔is broken I didn’t get to give you a big hug and tell you see you later my friend❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
