The world changes from year to year, our lives from day to day, but the love and memory of you, shall never pass away.

Judith Virginia McDonald (Judy), a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and animal lover, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2023, at the age of 80. Born on September 6, 1943, Judy's vibrant spirit and unwavering love for her family, friends and all creatures will forever be cherished and missed.

Known as a devoted wife, Judy's marriage to Douglas McDonald was a testament to their unbreakable bond and commitment to one another. Together, they created a life filled with love, joy, and enduring memories. Their partnership was a true inspiration to all who knew them. Douglas passed away in 2011 and Judy longed to be reunited with her dear husband.

As a mother, Judy's nurturing nature shone through in everything she did. She lovingly raised three children and two step children, instilling in them the values of kindness, generosity, and humor that she held so dear. Judy's children were truly her pride and joy.

Judy was renowned for her kind and compassionate nature. Her genuine care and concern for others and her deep devotion to her fuzzy creatures were felt by all who had the privilege of crossing paths with her. She always had a warm smile and a listening ear, ready to provide comfort and guidance in times of need.

Family was Judy's cornerstone, and she tirelessly worked to create a strong and loving home for her loved ones. Whether hosting gatherings filled with laughter and joy or simply sitting quietly with a cup of coffee and a loved one, Judy's family-focused mindset was unwavering. Her dedication to creating cherished memories and fostering a deep sense of connection among her family members will forever be cherished.

Never one to take life too seriously, Judy had a wonderful sense of humor that brightened every room she entered. Her infectious laughter and quick wit were a constant source of joy for those fortunate enough to be in her presence. Judy's ability to find humor in even the most challenging situations was a gift that she graciously shared with all.

Judy leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness. Her life was a shining example of the power of a generous heart and a loving spirit. Though she may be physically absent, her memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who were touched by her extraordinary presence.

Judy did not want a service but the family wanted to add this memorial to recognize Judy's remarkable life and the impact she had on friends and family. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made in Judy's honor to a charity, as a tribute to her lifelong commitment to helping animals and others. The charities near and dear to her heart were Gold Country Wildlife Rescue ( https://goldcountrywildliferescue.org ), Placer SPCA ( https://www.placer.ca.gov/animal ) and St Jude's Children's Research Foundation ( https://www.stjude.org/about-st-jude.html ).

Judy is survived by her three children, two step daughters, many grandchildren as well as many extended family and friends.

We will miss Judy so much. She was such a special person to our McDonald family. We have so many memories of her. She and Doug were so active building their homes in Moorpark and Grass Valley; breeding and showing their dogs; their pottery business; their emu ranch; and so involved in the many activities of their children. Oh, she and Doug were so impressive. We will always remember them as exceptional and loving people. We will see you again.
