Obituary
Joyce (Giatis) Flick, a woman of grace, strength, and unwavering love, passed away at 95. She was born on May 27, 1930, on Long Island, New York, and grew up in a home filled with love and laughter, built by her father for family including her three sisters, Ednamae, Lorraine, and Georgine.
Her life's work was teaching, a career she began in the 1950's. She devoted her professional life to education, rising to the role of Director of Special Education in 1980's. Her kindness and expertise touched the lives of countless students.
Joyce was a loving mother to Kiki, George, and Jon, and a proud grandmother to Nikolas, Zoe, Evan, Gareth, and Veronica and great grandmother to Galen and Theodora. Upon her retirement, she and husband, Richard embarked on an adventure, sailing the US East Coast before making their home in Delray Beach, Florida. They shared a wonderful partnership, finding immense joy in ballroom dancing and traveling to competitions where they were always one of the most vibrant couples on the dance floor.
An active member of her church and choir, Joyce’s beautiful spirit and love for life will be deeply missed by her family, her friends, and all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, learning, and the joy of a life well-danced.
