Obituary

Rev. Dr. Joseph Chinthala, born on February 28, 1950, received his heavenly call and peacefully passed away on September 26, 2024, at the age of 74. A resident of Bhavani Nagar, ECIL, Hyderabad, Dr. Joseph was a loving husband, a beloved father, a faithful servant of God and a pillar of strength in the community.

Dr. Joseph is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Chinthala (Pasapala), who stood by his side as an unwavering partner through life’s joys and challenges. Together, they built a family rooted in love, faith, and mutual respect. He was a devoted father to three children, Praveen, Praneeth, and Preethi, and a loving father-in-law to Joseph Satish, Kanthi Sulakshana, and Clara Wesley. His five grandchildren, Elijah, Evan, Elly, Ethan, and Emmanuel, were the light of his life and his greatest joy. Each of us will try our best to carry forward his legacy of kindness, integrity, and devotion.

Dr. Joseph was born in the small village of Kothapalli, in Kadapa District, where he rose above many challenges to pursue his education, earning a Master of Arts in Political Science. Known for his unwavering discipline, he excelled in his career within the Prison Department, retiring in 2008 as Deputy Superintendent of Prisons. He was deeply respected and loved by his peers, officers, subordinates, and even the prisoners under his care.

A lifelong learner with a heart for God’s work, Dr. Joseph earned a Doctorate in Theology after his retirement. He actively participated and collaborated with various organizations and ministries, always striving to further God’s kingdom. His greatest satisfaction, however, came from being able to construct a beautiful church in his native village of Kothapalli, leaving behind a lasting legacy of faith, service, and devotion to God’s work.

Throughout his lifetime, Dr. Joseph touched countless lives with his profound wisdom, immense strength, unwavering faith, and boundless compassion.

As we remember Dr. Joseph Chinthala, we honor a man who radiated love and kindness, leaving behind a legacy that will endure through the many hearts he touched. He lived a life of faith, setting an example to many of what it means to walk with Christ in both word and deed. His memory will continue to be a beacon of light for all who had the opportunity of knowing him.

While we mourn the loss of such a remarkable servant of God, we also celebrate the extraordinary life he led and the lasting impact he made. We take comfort in the promise of eternal life and rejoice in the hope that we will one day be reunited with him in heaven.

Dr. Joseph surrendered his life to Christ while in 7th or 8th grade in Kothapalli/Proddatur. At that young age, he made a firm decision not to watch movies, a commitment he made in 8th grade and upheld throughout his life, never stepping into a movie theater again. Thank God for the life of our dear brother Joseph.
I first met your dad a few years back. He visited us at Kadapa At that time he was in a very sad situation. He told me that he lost his wife and that he was very sorrowful. That was very difficult for him to bear. I did console him and explain to him that your mom was in heaven and that he would see her again. I also explained certain truths. It was a miracle that from that day he was very comforted regarding your mom. Since that day he was in regular touch with me. I was invited by him to Kothapalli also. We'll miss him. He was an early riser for prayer and kept up his faith till the end. God blessed him with a heavenly abode. He is there with Jesus and ofcourse reunited with His wife, your mom. In heaven we have our names written in the book of life and we have our identification too. His life was a blessing to the family and many lives too. The church he constructed will bring Glory to God till the end. Praise the Lord for this wonderful man of God. Hallelujah.

Hearing about Uncle's testimony has really inspired me to live a life that is pleasing to God. I had relatively few conversations with Uncle. I requested that Uncle stay with Praveen Bro's family here in Charlotte, but he responded that there was a need in Hyderabad. He never considered himself, only how he could serve others. He never seemed to be tired, and he had a lot of energy. Uncle's life was a living testimony to all of us.

Psalms. 23, 46....

Good morning Pummy, Dimmy and Preeti, we were unable to make it for the funeral service. Our sincere condolences and prayers with you. Definitely we are going to miss him in our lives as he is a great personality, Disciplined human being.

We loved Joseph Chinaana as Mary chinamma's husband. Mary chinamma is very special to us. I think we sisters were the flower girls at their wedding. Mary chinamma, she is very sensitive and a prayerful lady. We loved her and naturally loved the entire family.

My daddy loved Joseph chinaana a lot.. He worked as a jail superintendent then.

Pummy, Dimmy and Preeti. You are highly educated, because of your daddy's guidance.

Joseph Chinaana loved God. He is a believer. He did everything according to the scriptures. I remember, my daddy telling that he is a 🥇 gold medalist in his post graduation. As a kid, I remember him, coming to daddy for counselling and guidance. He is a self made human being. Great personality. He got selected to the administrative office as a class 1 officer. He worked hard. He is a great disciplinarian, loving and caring father. He speaks less but if he speaks he speaks with meaning. He worked according to scriptures. Glad to see his Doctorate and reverend ship. His stewardship, his integrity, transparency is praised aloud. He built a church in his home town. He is the first person to wish during our birthdays and anniversaries.

I'll miss Chinaana. He lived a life of God's purposes. He went soon, but definitely completed God's work. He is always full of enthusiasm to work for God. We should cultivate his discipline and firmness with the love of Christ. Glory Glory Glory to God 🙏

Pummy Dimmy and Preeti. Yes it's indeed celebrating the life of Joseph chinaana. It's a great learning experience for everyone. The life of Joseph chinaana was a life on purpose. He fulfilled. I heard every word spoken to celebrate his life. He was conscious of God's purpose God's hand and God's work. He went to rest soon, but he fulfilled it as HIS HEAVENLY FATHER GOD wants. May God give you strength to look at God and be comforted.

Psalms.121

We miss chinaana in person but his values stay with us forever.

As we celebrate his wonderful life, it's my prayer that God opens the gates of heaven to shower HIS blessings upon you children.

I always thanked Chinaana 🙏 for very many ways he had modelled and trained many young people WORKING with him, he helped many to understand the Christian servant leadership. He was very kind, very firm, and a workaholic in action.

Dear Sir
"It is truly sad news. You were not only a great administrator but also a remarkable human being.

I remember those days in 2004 when I was in the jail department. You helped me a lot and encouraged me to pursue the best for my career. I had a personal bond with you, and every year, you would call to wish me a happy birthday. The jail department will never forget your contributions. Your world was vast and full of impact.

It is time to honor your discipline and hard work as we reflect on your passing from this world. May your soul rest in peace."

Praise the lord everyone
Just want to share few words about Joseph uncle.
We know Joseph uncle when uncle visited Charlotte to see Praveen brother family.

As everyone shared yes uncle is very good at heart, discipline & God fearing person.

During few days stay also in Charlotte uncle visited Telugu services back to back and we never saw he is tired.

He follows discipline diet every day morning uncle takes ragi Java and consistent daily walking.

Joseph uncles life is very inspiring to all of us.

Before uncle leaving to India I want to uncle to stay for my daughter Nikki birthday but uncle flight is on same day so we were little but disappointed.
But by Gods Grace flight got postponed and uncle attended Nikki’s birthday and he told to us this is Gods will to be on Nikki birthday and uncle prayed for Nikki.

We are so happy to spent few days with Godly person

And we saw same discipline in Praveen bother and I am sure Praveen brother and all ext family members will continue uncle’s legacy.

A Tribute to Chinnayana

Today, I take a moment to honor and celebrate Chinnayana, whose unwavering love, support, and affection have left an indelible mark on all our lives. Chinnayana, you have been a pillar of strength, not just for me, but for everyone fortunate enough to know you. Your kindness, your constant encouragement, and your quiet but steadfast presence have been a source of immense comfort.

Your love has been a guiding light, helping us navigate through life's challenges with grace and patience. Your support has uplifted us in ways that words cannot fully express, reminding us that no matter the storm, we are never alone. And your affection—warm, genuine, and wholehearted—has been a reminder that love, in its truest form, is selfless and unconditional.

With deep gratitude and affection, I thank you, Chinnayana, for everything. You are cherished beyond measure, and your love will continue to inspire us for years to come.

With love and respect, daughter Beaulah

It is with a heavy heart that I write these words, as we remember and celebrate the life of a remarkable man—our beloved uncle, Rev. Dr. Joseph Chintala. It was deeply saddening to hear the news of uncle’s homegoing.

Our families have shared a special bond for over three decades. My parents, Mr. D. Isaac Prabhakar and Mrs. Dayamani Isaac Prabhakar, cherished a close and dear friendship with uncle, aunty, Praveen, Praneeth, and Preethi. Praveen and I grew up together, being of the same age group and peers in both school and college. Praneeth and Preethi, though younger, have always shared a special bond, with Preethi especially being like a younger sister to me. The Chintala family has always been treasured as close family friends, and we will continue to cherish that friendship.

While mourning the loss of my dear father, Mr. D. Isaac Prabhakar, Joseph uncle, Praveen, and Praneeth were pillars of strength and unwavering support. Their comfort and presence sustained us through that incredibly difficult period, and I will forever be grateful for their care and solidarity.

When Aunty went to be with the Lord, it left a deep impact on us all, a void that has been felt for the past 12 years. Uncle, however, continued to be a kind and loving presence, touching every heart he encountered. He held a special place in our lives, and I will forever cherish the memories of his thoughtfulness. Without fail, he would call me every year on my wedding anniversary and birthday, which meant the world to me and my family. His gestures of love and care were constant reminders of the goodness he carried within him.

As we celebrate uncle’s life, we hold to the promise of Christ’s eternal love and salvation. While we mourn his absence, we take comfort in knowing we will one day be reunited with him in the Lord’s presence. Uncle’s life was filled with faith, love, and kindness. Though we will miss him dearly, we find peace knowing he now rests in the warmth of God’s love, welcomed into his eternal home, where joy and love surround him forever.

Our prayers and heartfelt condolences go out to Praveen, Kanthi, Praneeth, Preethi, Joseph anna and the little ones during this difficult time.
