There are so many fun memories of Jon. From our first meeting on my visit to TX before marrying John, he welcomed me into his group of friends with open arms.
With all the moves we made playing follow the leader back and forth to playing cards at each other’s houses on weekends and the camping trips we took together were filled with so much love, fun and laughter that I will cherish it forever.
Thank you Jon for being a special part of our lives. I will love & miss you forever.

I met Jon in 1987, he headed up Fly Away Vacations and he was brilliant at his job. He soon welcomed his pride and joy Courtney. He adored her, I remember him bringing her presents from his trips from all over the world. She meant everything to him.
Jon was fun to travel with and a great host at his home in Texas. He will be sorely missed. Rest in Peace Jon.

I first met Jon when I walked into AA in Dallas TX. Very seldom did I call him Jon. I always referred to him as Snyder. Our twins called him Snydo.
He at first was my boss then he became my business partner, my friend and my brother.
People referred to us as the John’s. Some referred to him as “ The Jon without the H “.
We traveled the world together and we traveled life together. He was there for me through the loss of loved ones divorce marriage birth of my twins. Every major life event you could imagine. He loved me and I loved Jon. I will miss my friend for the rest of my life. Rest in peace my brother. You earned it.

So many great memories. I met Jon when he was in charge of American Airlines Tour Vacations and I was in charge of Marketing at Alamo Rent A Car. What started out as a business relationship turned into one of the greatest friendships I have had. We remained friends for many years and shared so many family vacations together. I remember when Courtney was born and his joy and love for his daughter. He always had a smile and a willingness to have fun. There were ups and downs and we were always able to talk to each other as friends to try to help. He will be greatly missed by me but will always be in my heart.

Jon welcomed me with open arms and a smile years ago when Courtney and I became roommates and best friends. I will cherish all of my memories with him, but I will never forget the night he made dinner for Addy, Court and I at him and grandma Dea's house in Moscow when we laughed so hard we almost cried listening to their dirty joke song tapes. I'm sure he's laughing and smiling with her looking down on his daughter and grand babies. I will think of you often, Jon❤️

To my uncle Jon, Thank you for the years of advice and memories from West VA to Wyoming and Florida. You were always a class act to the nines and I always admired your charisma and intelect. We will miss you and all your quirky comebacks. The pic is with my grandpa Duke's (Jon's father) sister Jane in West VA. We'll all meet up on the other side.

Well, you’ve arrived at your final destination and I’m certain you went first class. Dea probably has a bottle of Chivas and pack of unfiltered Pall Malls waiting for you parked on a table next to a chair on Lido deck. You were a great dad and will be remembered as such.

On January 25th, 2025, I(Courtney) arranged a private burial at sea for my father & grandmother. My grandma, Dea, had always wished to join her late husband, Bob, in the ocean. My dad and I hadn’t yet had the chance to fulfill her wish, so there was no better way to honor her wishes than with her son, Jon, by her side. Joining them on this final journey were my aunt Barbara, Jon’s sister and Bob’s daughter, as well as Dea’s mother, Fritzie, and her husband Sam. Dea’s loyal Great Dane, Sheena, and my dad’s best friend of 17 years, a scruffy Lhasa Alpso, Chloe, also made the journey to accompany everyone on their next adventure.
