It was the summer of 1985 when we visited my grandparents in Montreat a town just outside of Asheville, NC. It was one of the best summers of my childhood. From camp to jumping rocks with my dad. This place is so near and dear to our family. My grandparents (my dad's parents) built a home there for retirement. There's a park in the town named after my great uncle Robert Lake.

This place would've never been prepared for a hurricane. When the hurricane struck Asheville, NC the day after my dad died it was more than heartbreaking. I know my dad loved this place.

Anything you can give to help this community and our family get back on their feet would be so much better than flowers.
