Obituary

In Loving Memory of John (Jack) Francis Fogarty.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of John (Jack) Francis Fogarty, aged 74, (August 6, 1951 – August 11, 2025). After a long and unyielding fight, Jack passed peacefully, surrounded by his family whose love and closeness was the foundation of his life.

Born in Yonkers, New York, Jack was a visionary entrepreneur whose leadership and warmth inspired all who knew him. Over four decades, he built and led a successful curtain wall company and also owned and operated two restaurants. Jack had a remarkable gift for bringing people together, leaving a lasting impression on colleagues, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to work alongside him.

Jack was a loving husband, father, brother, Pop-Pop, uncle, and friend. He was known for his captivating storytelling, quick wit, and the rare ability to make each person feel like the most important one in the room. He found joy in golf, horse racing, cooking, and doting on the family dogs.

Jack is survived by his loving wife, Jackie Fogarty; his children, daughters Kimberly Arth and son-in-law Aaron Arth, Siobhan Kennedy and son-in-law Craig Kennedy, and son Cash Fogarty; his sister, Marisa Johnston; and his adored grandchildren, Alexandra, Jacqueline, Grant, Olivia, and Charlotte.

A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Greenwich on Friday, August 22nd at 11am, followed by a burial at St. Mary / Putnam Cemetery in Greenwich. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Kids, in honor of Jack’s enduring spirit and the care he received.

Looking @ the man always adorned in black, one thought @ one time he was invincible and we are so sorry for the loss! He provided our family with such wonderful gatherings @ every place including but not limited to " The Rocking Horse". He genuinely lit up when you would come into his establishments. His most enthusiastic manner was relegated to the basketball teams he coached and how he spared no one including Cash in motivating the boys with explicit language.
To me he was a man of huge stature but truly a gentle soul.Thank you Jack for allowing us a part of you. The Lepore Family

It is not easy to say goodbye. Jack leaves a void that cannot be filled. Both feet firmly on the ground, dressed in his signature black, an imposing man with a big heart, always looking to bring people together and make sure, everybody is ok. Oh how I wish there was more time to sit together, enjoying an Arnold Palmer and 'talk shop'. I will miss you, my friend!

My condolences to the Fogarty family.

PS: The photo was taken in Irvington with Jack's buddy Mark a year ago.

Jack will truly be missed at his Florida second home. It was always a pleasure when Jack would come sit and share a story with you by the pool. He was as large in life as he was in stature and our home will feel less sunny without him.
Our love and condolences to his family.

Our hearts go our to the entire Fogarty family, we've been friends and neighbors for 40+ years. In my experience, Jack had many admirable qualities, but his ability to be in the moment, with supporting words is what we'll remember most. Ironically, we most often spoke after taking our the garbage, and those turned out to be long, often funny and insightful adhoc discussions. I'll miss those times, but will think of Jack every week. May he rest in peace.
