Obituary

John J Marr,74, of Patten, with great sadness, we announce the peaceful passing, of John, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, October 25, 2025, in Bangor. He was born on April 12, 1951, to Harold and Louise (Campbell) Marr. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army.

He enjoyed watching the New England teams play, but he particularly enjoyed baseball whether on tv, or at Fenway and Hadlock Field. He was in the process of remodeling their kitchen, which he was very proud of and took great pride in. He enjoyed watching the deer and wildlife in the backyard and all the birds that gathered on their many feeders.
John is survived by his partner in life, Laurie Bartlett; two daughters Melissa(Kevin) McGraw of Bangor and Eliza(Paul) Jacobson of Franklin; Four Grandchildren, Devin(Dayna), Eryca, Trey, and Taryn; Three Great Grandchildren, Cooper, Alexander, and Myles; Siblings, Ruth Mitchell, Kelly Candage, Harriett(Margaret) Cyr, and Corey(Kim) Marr; The mother of his daughters and former wife, Sally Marr; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and brother Dwight Marr.

By the request of John, there will be no services held. The family requests that donations be made to the VFW or Disabled Veterans, two charities that were close to his heart, if you are inclined to do so.
