I've also struggled to find words to articulate the loss of such an amazing person from the world. John and I worked in the Products team together and spent many days together on client site. I remember being in Awe as John would sometimes cycle to work from Woking...
John cared deeply about his work, his team and bought the best of himself every day. He was always available to lend an ear, provide support and guidance and to share a story about family, cycling, gold, the highs and lows of being a landlord and where to find a good gin.

He will be deeply missed by all those that knew him and I'm sending thoughts to his family at this difficult time. Even these words are nowhere near close to being able to describe the hole he will leave behind.

Be at Peace x

I've had to wait a couple of weeks before being able to write on this memory wall. I still can't get my head around a world without John in it. We had the enormous privilege of working with John day today, feeling the highs and the lows of delivering difficult programs and taking care of such a large and varied team. I could not have been successful without John at my side at Specsavers in those early days. I learnt so much from him about how to be a leader, how to look after people and how to delight a client. John became my 'best friend' at work (as he used to call it) and I only wish I had appreciated more how lucky I was.

One of John's greatest superpowers was his love for his family, Kim, Louisa and Georgia, Sheila and his sisters and his many nieces and nephews. I loved hearing stories about the family gatherings, the holidays and the pub shed. He was never happier than when he was talking about the craziness he'd been involved in over a weekend!

It's impossible to comprehend that the force of nature and outstanding human being that was John Chaffey is no longer with us. I'm so grateful for the time we had with you and my heart goes out to your family and friends at the enormity of your loss.

Thank you for everything John x

John was one of those genuine nice guys who was full of enthusiasm and energy. I had the pleasure to work with him over many years and every time our paths crossed he was always upbeat and cheerful. There was always the sharing of updates and 'war' stories up our respective client but also finding the time to talk more widely about families and life - in particular with our shared interest in cycling. Loved his ever positive and fun outlook - some great memories, he will be much missed. Thoughts are with his family.

Extremely saddened by this news. Working with John was a real privilege - he was knowledgeable, dedicated and above all caring. He was always willing to help, more often than not with a smile! Sending on love and condolences to his family, John truly was one of a kind, and I will not forget the time spent with him.

I met John in 2016 when i arrived at Spec's. I struck up a great relationship with John pretty much from day 1.. Over the years that developed from somebody i considered a work colleague to one I considered as a friend. John was one of the nicest people you could hope to meet. He was always positive, saw the best in everybody and was always looking to help. I never once saw him cross or angry.

Having read the other messages most of what needs to be said already has been. So I've simply added a picture of me, John, Kim and Cheryl at Wimbledon. Me and Cheryl still talk about that day now. Lots of fun.. And it was John at his best, a great host, entertainer - and always smiling. John, you'll be missed.

I’ve had the privilege of knowing John since 2012—first as a competitor, then a peer, and eventually, as a client. But in all these forms of friendship, there was one constant: John was always a thorough gentleman. He was deeply passionate about his work and proud of his role as a family man. His love for his girls and his wife shone through in everything he did, and his hardworking nature was undeniable.

I was fortunate to spend some quality time with John, particularly during work visits to India, social gatherings and a few cricket matches. While cricket wasn’t exactly his sport, John’s enthusiasm and his ability to blend in for the sake of being with friends is something I’ll always remember fondly. His positivity and openness made him the kind of person everyone wanted to be around.

In every conversation, John’s love for his family was always apparent. He also loved to talk about golf, and we shared a common interest in property portfolios. It was these moments of shared passions and values that made my connection with him so special.

Though you are no longer with us, John, I know your positivity must be radiating in another world. The many memories you’ve left us with will stay in our hearts forever. My heartfelt love and best wishes go out to John’s family. May you all find the strength to move forward, even stronger, as John would have wanted. He will always be with us in spirit.

John Chaffey is a true gentleman who always greeted everyone with a smile and treated all with equal respect. Whenever we met, he would always ask about how things were going and if there were any challenges, showing his genuine concern for others. He had a special fondness for India. I always admired the way he greeted people with a smiling face. I feel fortunate to have met him multiple times during his visits to India and my time in the UK. My heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.

It was pleasure to work with John Chaffey for almost a decade. He used to travel to INDIA occasionally or during client visits and used to meet everyone with smiling face. I remember few times he used to take 3 wheelers to reach Hotel as he wanted to feel local spark 😊

He was true gentleman; it is huge loss to Accenture, and we all miss you, John.

John was a critical contributor to Specsavers Technology's successes over many years. He was an excellent leader, and partner to the SS leadership team, relentlessly positive and upbeat (definitely a Tigger!) and had huge knowledge, determination, grit and energy to get issues resolved and over the line.
I particularly valued the fact that he was a passionate champion of women in the workforce (he said it was because he had sisters and daughters!). When we held calls for International Women's Day - I was delighted to see John dial in everytime and he was very proud of the diversity that the Accenture team had created under his leadership. I know he was so proud of his daughters too (as he always told me what they were up to). I am so sorry for John's family - the past few months must have been very hard. I have thought about John and his family a lot over the last few months and will continue to do so - and am sending you all my love. The world would be a much happier place if we were all a bit more 'John Chaffey'. RIP John xxxxx

I had the pleasure of working with John for many years at Specsavers. John was full of positive energy and his can do attitude was infectious. His dedication to his team, his friends and his customers was unmatched. When he fell ill and had to stop working, it was a huge loss to all of us and we always hoped he would be return. His passing is incredibly sad and the loss will be felt by so many he blessed in his life. I wish everyone much love at this difficult time and hope you all take comfort in the heartfelt messages from everyone who loved John.

John was my supervisor and mentor for two years in one of my previous engagement. Always full of energy and absolutely people's person. Made some great relationships both in Accenture and with client stakeholders. Can't believe he is gone so soon. Will miss him. I worked with John on the Specsavers account back in 2016. As a fellow golfer we always had a chat about the sport whenever we met at a London event and always said we would go for a game but never managed to. John was always super positive and happy, an absolute pleasure to work with and certainly created an impact. I am really shocked and saddened to hear this news and my heart goes out to his family. He will be missed.

We always found a few minutes to talk about the things we loved most... our families! One of the few people that was able to keep it real in the crazy world of work.

Grateful to you for making the days in the office a little more light-hearted and fun.

Devastated for those you loved and who loved you so dearly.

John, you will be missed. You were a truly special person to me, and I will never forget the moments we shared during the Specsavers Re-Imagine Project Transition, go-live in Jul'2021, Stabilization period of first 6 months and the subsequent Specsavers client visit in May'2022, where we met in-person for the first time at Accenture BDC7C facility. Time may dull the pain, but we will never forget you.
