Obituary
JJoanne Grace (Fredrickson) Coopersmith, 88, of Lombard, IL, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2025, after her struggle with COPD. She spent her final year surrounded by love in the home of one of her daughters in Lombard, IL.
Joanne is now reunited with many who passed before her, most especially her beloved husband, Don (d. 1991), her parents, Helen (Bjork) and Rudy Fredrickson, her brother Don, and countless family and friends. That’s the blessing of 88 wonderful years—so many cherished connections.
Joanne was a loving, selfless, and incredible mother to Susan (Eric Swanson), Shari (Tom Burns), and Cindi (Sam Marcello) as well as her Grands and Greats: Matt, Amanda, Ryan, and Gracie; Melissa and Harry; Jimmy and Erin; Donny, Jenna, Rocco, and Meadow; Cooper and Melissa; and Aubrey, Marissa, and Coyne.
Respecting Joanne's wishes, there was no wake or service, nor will there be a public memorial. However, a memorial website has been created for those who wish to share memories, upload photos or videos, or send condolences.
Please honor Joanne’s spirit by being kind, cherishing family, expressing gratitude daily, and leaving nothing unsaid—just as she lived her life.
