Obituary
Joan Laura Hamilton, 79, of Palm Harbor, Florida passed away on December 19th, 2024.
Joan was born on November 20th 1945 in Thomasville, Georgia to parents Andrew and Laura Abramoske. She was raised in Farmingdale, New York, and moved to the Palm Harbor area in 2003.
Joan dedicated 52 years of her life as a registered nurse, serving others in both New York and in Florida. She was a talented seamstress, had an amazing sense of humor and loved to be around family.
She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who touched the lives of so many in her time. She was a selfless, giving, loving person. Even during her sickest days she wanted to make sure that her loved ones had everything they needed.
Joan is preceded in death by her father, Andrew, mother Laura, sister Bunny, and son Arthur.
She is survived by her daughter Janet and husband James, daughter-in-law Michele, her grandsons Kameron and Brandon and Brandon’s wife Navarre as well as her brother Gerry, brother Drew, and her sister Virginia.
Her love for her family was fierce and unconditional (if not a little unconventional) and her legacy of love will live on in their hearts.
Joan was a force of nature, and to know her was to love her. In life she loved nothing more than to be surrounded by loved ones, often hosting friends and family during holidays and special occasions whenever able. She spoke her love through giving gifts to others, and though she’s no longer with us, her spirit will remain a part of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

There aren’t enough adjectives to describe her….. she contributed to the success of the facility, her co-workers and especially care planning for our residents.
She will be in the hearts of many and will always bring a smile to my heart.

Service
We will come together to remember and pay tribute to Joan's fun and feisty spirit, have some food and drinks, and play a bingo game based on memories of her. While we mourn the loss of her, we also aim to cherish the memories shared and celebrate her in a way she would have wanted. Your presence would mean a great deal to us during this time. The memorial service will be live streamed. Please let us know if you will be coming so that we can plan food and drinks.
